Turnabout Forever: Ace Attorney
Posted: Thu Jul 23, 2009 10:18 am
OBJECTION!!! The trial begins now. This is a Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney RP. I'd like to kick this off, but first let me lay down the "law" per-say.
RULES:
- No acting outside of the limits of your character (I.E. A prosecutor cannot perform a cross-examination, Defense Attorneys can't forge evidence, so on and so on...) Said rules about each role will be detailed in character creation section
- Keep the dialogue friendly for the most part (unless playing as Von Karma...)
- Storyline characters (I.E. Phoenix, Edgeworth, Von Karma, The Judge etc...) cannot act outside of their character. If you think your character would not act in a certain way, then don't do it.
- Please try your best to post as detailed as possible, and no short-posting
Okay, on to the story...
December 12, 2028: Von Karma Released!
Phoenix Wright his been re-instated as a defense attorney once again and has continued his line of successful defenses along with his protoge Apollo Justice. Things have been going well for the two lawyers, until just recently. News has recently been passed that Manfred Von Karma has been released from prison, due to some unknown circumstances. Miles Edgeworth has contacted Phoenix claiming his life is in jeopardy. Phoenix is unsure what to do until another mysterious individual enters the office. Trucy Wright claims that the person is capable of handling the protection of Edgeworth until they can determine what Von Karma is up to.
April 20, 2029 Enter Armon Giden
Rumor has it that several cases have been blown away by a new prosecutor by the name of Armon Giden. Claiming that that justice has been broken in the courtroom over the last few years, he states that he will restore the title of prosecutor to it's former glory. However, not is all as it seems. Von Karma has been seen at the side of Mr. Giden and the idea is that this new prosecutor has been trained by Von Karma himself. With the prosecution's office in an uproar and the Criminal Offices unsure of the new "advent of justice", crime has soared to an all-time high. Murders have gone unanswered, and Phoenix is determined to uncover the cause of this chaos. Enter the players. Take command of any side of justice and fight to prove that your side is what makes WRIGHT!
Character Section
Characters come in one of two forms. Story characters and created characters. The story characters are the characters that are prior established and will be taking command of the main flow of the story. Created characters are newcomers and/or criminals, defendants, witnesses, and others that will make the case what it is.
Roles: States the basic goal and abilities of each member of the court
- Defense Attorney: The defense of the court, those who fight to get the defendant not-guilty by cross-examining witnesses and presenting evidence to prove their client's innocence.
- Prosecutor: The ones in charge of the "attack" of the courthouse. They are the opposite of defense attorneys, and have the law on their side.
- Investigator: The bread and butter of the case. These individuals are the ones in charge of the investigation of the crime. Compiling the evidence and making the case fall on their shoulders.
- Witness: The witness of a crime, or possibly just a person the prosecution called in to cover up a case. Whatever the reason, the goal of a witness is to tell the court what they "saw" in an attempt to either assist the prosecution (usually), or the defense (not likely) with winning the case.
Criminal: A flagrant breaker of laws. The objective of a criminal is to commit the crime without getting caught; by any means necessary, Plain and simple.
Accused: Different from a criminal, in the fact that this particular role is accused of a crime, but is actually innocent or otherwise not deserving of the verdict the court wants on them. Both the "Accused" and criminals can be defendants in a case, but only the accused are truly innocent. Phoenix will only take "accused" as clients.
