 It sort of ties in with Liminality, as Tokuoka ( Don't know if it's spelled right) finds out that Carl's real life player is one of the Coma victims. And it sort of explains how BlackRose meets Meg.

So is there any word on this at all?

Since no announcements have been made for years, the series is effectively canceled unless they decide to pick it up again...

I'm with you on this one. I do wish they would finish at least. It was in my opinion one of the more true to the series, canon installments via novel format.
