Most Unused

So, what to you was the most unused aspect of .hack//G.U.//Redemption?

Whether it be an item, a feature, a mini-game, or what. Please post what the least used thing(s) for you in the game were.

Please post a reason why also.

For me, it was the bike races and the alchemy system in the Canard Guild.

I could never get the hang of the bike, and the whole alchemy system confused me to all hell. x.p

I used the alchemy system like hell when i found out how useful it was XD

Anyways, the most unused feature for the game overall, as in something the game has only for the sake of "having it" and serves no real purpose nor it's useful, i think are the spells. They're pretty useless for a normal gameplay (well, in a "normal" gameplay everything but smashing X is useless >->), and they gave no importance to them at all...elemental hits suck, only a few enemies have Physical Tolerance and you can get rid of it with Awakenings (easier than using spells). Macabre Dancers are the most ignored class too, and the only use you can have for them is something different to what they were supposed to (only boosting Morale through spells that Dancers aren't the only ones who have them).
And the Arena, despite being a forced place for half the series, was pretty unused as well...it had alot of potential and promised alot since Rebirth, but it ended up completely ignored and a place where you only need to press R1+X on shiny yellow people to win. But well, GU overall had alot of features that were ignored and promised alot but were never developed at all, turning it into a very easy and easy-to-bore game. They could've added more Adept Rogues, a wider set of skills and give challenges to use them, more unique and actual rare items with hard quests/challenges to get them...GU was overall a huge disappointment for me :/

Yea they're not as strong as in R:1

And they are on in the last 2 floors in the Forest of Pain >>

Anyways, Kestrel Guild, Guild Shops

I would say the bike races, as well. It's not that I couldn't handle the bike, I found a neat trick to win the race with only one king, it's just that..there is no real purpose to upgrade the bike that much. Sure, one muffler had Hit In The Dark (invisible to enemies), but that doesn't account for doing all of the races.

You mean the "press select at the moment you hit the king" trick?

Yeah, it was the select+O. It was pretty easy since I have a controller with turbo on it.

Anyways, back to topic people.

Yeeeeah, there was a lot of unused potential in the G.U. games.

I'll throw my lot in with the people saying the bike races. Those were actually pretty fun and novel in Reminisce, but the developers didn't even try to make it challenging in Redemption. Just a bit more of a challenge would've helped it a lot.
Crimson VS too; another mini-game that was pretty cool in Vol. 2 but was a huge letdown in Vol. 3 and, again, needed to have more difficulty to it. Some variability on the NPC's decks would've helped out as well.

For me the most unused thing would be smokescreen I just fought everything to level up until in vol. 3 I got the demon safe shoes(allow you to run faster and not be seen by monsters)and used them

To be honest, I never really found much use for the coupons in the game...I always had more money then I knew what to do with.

I also found that coupons were useless too. I was constantly gathering and selling, so I was pretty set on money. Also, unless you cared about the cut scenes the Adler's Keys were pretty useless. I worried so much about getting them, and when I started the third game I found there was no need. I was a little more than annoyed, I was glad though that I got to see all the cut scenes of people getting their weapons and had cleared the monsters in my RYU book though.

Yata.

Never used him.

Also, I tried to do the bike races quite a bit, but never could do it.

Unused of your own experience or what the game didn't bother using often?

I just couldn't get into Crimson VS even a little bit..
