Well, I believe its more serious in a sense.

Seriously, Kite never whined or felt guilty or had any source of emotion. Barely any character did in the previous games.

Concerning GU, it dealt with teens and previous characters from the other games.

The Epitaphs are also emotionally/personality attracted to people so you had to make them similar to their avatar or else people will go ' U kno i lik nevr explned y hseo got sketh, lol!!!111 '

The series it tuned into more emotional game concept. Life is like this, you play online games to get away from reality and be as you want to without the actual world judging you. Thus Endrance >>;

But yes, they had to make the characters more emotional for their avatars.

Okay..Gaspard is the biggest wimp of his time. I wouldn't count him for anything other than over reacting on a online game, hes a wimp >.>;

Gaspard well, I can imagine him being a 'loser' in the real world. And when a loser has nothing but a game...well, yah >>;

You also forget PK-ing in this game is like Killing a person in real life. You get a sense of fear and get stalked and preyed upon in a much more reality based setting so most people would find it traumatic and probably take off their head sets before their heart skips beats from the fear.

Atoli=Suicidal, has a bad reality of school. and people. I also commented on the Phase. You also can't really call her emotional when she rarely gets emotional until AIDA infection or Innis ( Epitaphs react to emotions and AIDA draws out emotions )

And most of the reason people are emotional in this is cause close friends fall into coma's or get attacked by AIDA or are Avatar'd.

We're dealing with Teens still. The most emotional people in the game are teens so what do you expect?

Think of it like this, does Cloud ever think about how many Soldiers he's killed? How many Chocobo's he's killed to get the gold one? No, Kite's the same. The kid's grasp on reality is not that tight as much as Teens like Haseo/Atoli/Endrance and etc.

You're issue with this game is sorta...odd. You dislike the reality of it? These are how people with split personalities would act/Emotional trust issues/loss of a loved one would react.

In Gaspard's defense, unlike what you may assume, in the real world, he is just a little kid. Not only that, but he's a little kid with weight issues. I mean, come on. He gets picked on in the real world, and goes to "The World" to escape... and then they pick on him there. He's only a lil fella. How can you blame him?

I figured it out why I just can't stand to play G.U.'s story for more than 3 hours at a time. Everyone in it is soooo whiney and soooo over dramatic. It's a game guys. Calm down. I've had lots of friends that have 'betrayed' me on WoW, or pretended to be my friends and ninja /gquit later. I didn't scream/cry about it. I remember Sign being emo (in an understandable way most of the time) but it's one thing when you're watching it, but a whole different thing when you're playing it. I mean...Endrance locked himself in a block of ice and surrounded it in chains. If that's not a 10/10 for emo, I don't know what is.

Yeah, in Gaspard's defense, he is a little kid. He uses the game to escape the real world. When that game starts to upset him, where does he have left to be happy? It's like if you hid under your blanket, only to find a monster, drinking tea down there... you're gonna be like, "Well... great, now what? ...are those cookies?"

In Haseo's defense, he has lost so much, and been betrayed. I'd think that would make you pretty upset, too... Yeah, some people may just say it's a game, but those are real people. It's not too different if someone's an asshole to your face, or on a game/phone/board/etcetera... The plus side to being in person, is you get to punch them in the face. :3

Just like if you fall in love online, or get mad at someone. Regardless of pixels and text, they are still people. People with real feelings, faults, qualities, and so forth. So it isn't so weird to find friendship online, or even love. Likewise, it isn't so weird to find someone who you particularly hate... or aren't very fond of. Y'know, it's a bit harder online, too... That girl you like might just be some asshole who's been lying to you, or your supposed best-friend might stab you in the back.

Personally, I understand why people get upset over PKing in the game. One thing you have to remember is The World give you the opton to play from the perspective of your character, so if you see a sword or something coming straight at you, it can be... unnerving. Especially if the other person is laughing like a lunatic, like Bordeaux.

People were complaining that this game series wasn't "real enough"...well, now it's closer to the real thing and the characters are more emotional, and not stick figures. I'm glad for all the so-called "emoness".

The characters in the IMOQ were okay. But the ones in G.U. have REAL personalities. As for why people can get worked up over an online game. People who can't understand that, don't understand the nature of an online RPG. Having played WoW, I understand the problems people have in the game, and at the same time I completely understand what makes an online RPG more real than the real world.
