The story line would be mostly the same, but I would get rid of those painful pauses between lines of dialogue.

I don't think it would be the same, the .hack animes don't have all the action it should have, if they ever remake the games into an anime series, it would soooo boring I'd sleep in the middle of an episode.

But of course, if the production team put more action than drama in the animated version it would certainly be the same, or even better, considering the graphics.

yea i would keep the storyline the same but i would add a little more action to it to make it more enjoyable instaed of having to much drama like most of the .hack series

well first off if they ever did that i would hope they adapt the game in to an anime completely different from what they did with the xenosaga anime, where they cut a lot from the game and then the story in the anime was all weird.

but while i disagree with how the made that anime, from what i learned in my creative writing class, some parts of a story have to be removed for certain reasons (that i cant remember). although that may or may not seem like it has anything to do with if GU was an anime i think adapting a game to a series is the same as adapting a book to a movie, which is what i learned, and it really isnt easy either. so it really would take a lot of planning otherwise GU would be better off staying just a game and only that, even though the story is really cool

For IMOQ, i'd keep the basic story line, of course. But I'd definitely flesh out the way things happened, like what Another Birth did.

Calling //Roots G.U is like saying //Sign is IMOQ...unless you exclude Unison, because that does combine //Sign and IMOQ, but I don't know what the opinion on Unison is.

It would be cool if it was but the chances of stuff being editted out is very likely. However it would be nice to see your favorite G.U. characters again in an anime.

i would like to see link made into an anime, and only link. it would fit a better way for an anime, kite haseo and tokio teaming in there just make it 10 times better. thats my only opinion, leave the games, games.

He is right and also for the secret characters and some of the events they may have to alter some of the actions that you (would) have done in the game.
