Wishlist for a new.hack game
Here we should discuss, if they were producing a new .hack game, for the ps3 with all that power it possesses, what would you want to see gameplay and engine wise (no story lines though they seem to do that well enough without us)
Me I'd like to see control where maybe you can flip through your party members so you can play as different dudes or chicks so your not stuck strictly on 1 character.
OR
Maybe custom look creation so you don't have to be stuck with some pre made character.
Custom weapon creation once you hit a certain level and you can collect stuff you need for it.
multi player (not online but your friends can control your party members with a second or more controllers.
more monsters in the battle instead of just 3.
No more repetitive looking fields and dungeons, more weather and even you get effected by it in game.
Custom skill movement making? (hehe think fighter maker cept less...crappy) so you can make what kind of crazy stuff you will do when you use a skill.
thats all I can think of for now.

Well, I see where you're coming from with the custom character, but not going to happen. You couldn't have an anime, mangas etc. all set around a character you've created.
I know it sounds cool to change characters to play as but ehh... =\ I to be honest wouldn't want that, but good idea.
Expanding on Alchemy. There's so much item creation you can do with that.
Give us more fields! We want the field types GU's added as well a return from our traditional fields from R:1. Just a simple plain field.
NOW
Devil May Cry style gameplay. That's the comparison I've seen in fighting in a video game that ever came close to the anime's freedom-ness. Free form fighting plx. Combat that takes SKILL to do. Anyone that's ever played devil may cry 3; you were HORRIBLE first time you played it, but after many hours playing you mastered the combat.
Imagine a Fragment like game do be unlocked after you've beaten the single player. Just an rpg with online play, not technically an mmorpg... more of an mmo. Creating a character, choosing their class, and playing the single player experience of raising a character, exploring Root Towns, Adventuring dungeons.
It would be so easy to do. Especially with the 360 or ps3. I know that CC2 said they wouldn't make an online game but what if all the concentration was thrown on the single player and the online play was an after thought. Remember with the 360 or ps3 CC2 can throw in online updates to expand the game. <3.
If it had online play I'd want to be able to do alot of things though =\.
I want to go adventuring with a friend at a field level and sit down and talk. 360 and ps3 can use their lovely Mic's. Imagine going adventuring with a guy you've been hanging out with (Though I doubt you guys will want that =D) and being able to lay down on his lap or visa versa. Much like B.T. and Bear.
hehe. I've got to much free time to think about this.
Nice topic <3

besides showing the weapons they should show what the armours and accesories look like and show them on your character.

I would be so happy if the main character turned out to be an AI.

I'd be nice to have a few different character classes. They expanded it in GU, but a few more wouldn't hurt. Also, different character types like the beast characters. That'd be kinda cool!

I want the wavemaster class back =*-(, a mixture of harvest cleric and battle mages.Alkaid_loves_Haseo wrote:I'd be nice to have a few different character classes. They expanded it in GU, but a few more wouldn't hurt. Also, different character types like the beast characters. That'd be kinda cool!
And my Heavy Axeman class. There's not even an axe anything class in roots and G.U. at least not in vol 1.
Do you remember in SIGN in a few select episodes you could see an ARCHER class. That never made it into the games. Why not? Darn you Steam Gunner >_>, that just means there'd never be an archer class.

Re: Wishlist for a new.hack game
I DON'T want the Wavemaster class back. It was way too broken.
Re: Wishlist for a new.hack game
Moving away from the fact that a PS3 game of such a caliber would likely take 4-5 years to complete, there are a few good ideas here.
Flipping through characters: Would break the games MMORPG atmosphere. Nothing more to say. Would make a nice extra post-completion, though, to just move around areas as a favoured character.
Custom characters: As said, this would make it almost impossible to make a real anime, or any other form of media about the series (manga, novels, etc). One way around that though is if the games main characters player had several accounts; an anime could simply show the main character switching between different avatars. The only problem would be levelling, but I'm sure they could sort that by saying all of the accounts are hacked or something, so say when one account gains exp, the other does the same. It'd give some variety, as each account could be a different class, with different member address lists, and so on.
Weapon creation: GU had weapon upgrading, so weapon creation wouldn't be an unwelcome addition to the game. If it were added, I'd like to see bigger item storage though...
Multiplayer: I've only used multiplayer a couple of times in the last year, so I honestly can't show hate or love for an inclusion. I guess it'd be similar to Tales of the Abyss. Not sure if it'd hurt the games atmosphere though.
More monsters: Depends on the battle system. I'd prefer more challenging monsters, as opposed to more. Monsters that have less HP, pack a bigger punch, and have their own special attacks beyond slashing or shooting.
Random fields upgrades: Hard to make random fields look better, but being effected by weather would be a nice condition, especially if it also affected attacks (ie. a hot temperature could power up fire skills, weaken ice skills, or even up or down a characters stats if a character element system were implemented).
Custom skill movement: I actually had that idea for a game myself once, though I've never heard of fighter maker. It would be a difficult system to implement, unless they extremely simplified it to choosing a set of largely pre-set movements (Such as "Dash forward and slash", or "backflip and shoot", etc)
I'd love to see some more unique classes myself. ATs AI main character suggestion would be a great addition too; we've seen the players perspective and how the events in The World affect them already, so it's about time we see direct affects on the true inhabitants of The World (the AI) themselves.

I know in the past .Hack games the wavemasters weren't very good (except helba ^_~), and unbalanced stats killed them but there's plenty of adjusting that could be done. Y'know they can learn healing and magic arts but yet not master the highest class of either art.

I like all these ideas.

Re: Wishlist for a new.hack game
My wish for the next .hack game:
- Not on the PS3
- Not on the PS3

I'm totally with you on that one.Paxella wrote: Maybe custom look creation so you don't have to be stuck with some pre made character.

thats all I can think of for now.
Also about the whole character creation conflict, correct me if I"m wrong but I remember hearing they might not focus so much on the other media so much and just do games maybe. Even if they did continue with the other media, the anime and others could be like sign (prequel) and side stories. That way, we have a developing story much like the other 2 projects, we can still keep char creation and the characters from the other media could have cameos, like the SIGN characters in IMOQ. They could even have characters that are minor in the games that become significant in other media later on (I guess the more popular characters).
Also, major addition to the next .hack: The JUMP Button. That way we could have more multiplanar battles and there could be sets of attacks for ground movements that are seperate from jumping attacks. This would also give room for more attacks period.
I actually have lots of ideas for the next .hack, but I'll post those later. K-su out

Creating your own character. (I know it's been siad, but I thik so too.
)

Re: Wishlist for a new.hack game
Well there has to be something that can change about who your playing, not everyone wants to be a male character, and not everybody wants to be a female character. Now if it was just 1 male and 1 female character to switch between that would be nice too..just include them both in the anime..kinda like if you wanted to switch between Haseo or Atoli..something like that.

That's a good idea too!

More than likely when the developers do see this thread they will put the stuff in it like the marriage thing.

I SO agree.
SKEITH/BRACELET BLEND! Yay! Lol.
I SO agree.

Re: Wishlist for a new.hack game
No ill tell you what I really want that couldve worked for the GU saga.
Its so simple. Basically you just "cycle" between the characters like in other games. That way you can play any job and those abilites dont go to waste (meaning only AI uses it). So if one wanted to play a Partisan all youd have to do is switch from Haseo to Piros the 3rd.
