The Backstory to the game
Correct me here if I'm Wrong but is the whole poin of the game to get Tsukasa out of “The World” because It appears that he is not actually at a computer; his consciousness is trapped in the game! Together with a group of people who become his friends, he must unravel this mystery if he is ever going to return to the real world. And, to make matters worse, Tsukasa is connected to some very unusual events. It soon becomes clear that it isn't just a game; it’s a matter of life and death.

im sorry to sound offensive but where'd u come up with that plot summary? it sounds like it came off the back of a dvd case and its trying to sell the story.
but at no point in any .hack related games is the point to release tsukasa from "the world"
He is the central character of the .hack//sign anime and is trapped in the game.
though cheesy sounding in my opinion the summary is basically correct in all points except it is the anime not the game.
