I don't care if Hareld Hoerwick was German. Nor thw epitaph of twilight for that matter. I still want to be able to understand what is being said.

If you want a translation of the German text, look for the threads where the japanese version was discussed.
BandaiNamco/CC2 won't write anything in the same language, just because you want to be able to read it.

Oh, and why "english" trailer? It just has a english dub and they replaced the title at the end.

I agree the voices in that preview were filled with so much emotionAuraTwilight wrote:Well, the quotes are said outloud in English. "Love, Joy, Despair, etc." Almost all of those are lines of Haseo's in German.
Also, this is probably the best piece the English VA's have done. It certainly makes me hate them all a lot less.

Also those lines,"Joy, Hate, Despair, etc" are in german
Freude= Joy
Sorge= Concern/Sadness
Liebe= love
Hass/HaB= Hate(The "B" stands for two (s)'s in german.)
Can't see Atoli's word

Verzweiflung=Despair
it was on the jpn trailer too.Voshra wrote:i noticed that on youtube...only uploaded 3 hours ago or so...

Atoli's word is Wunsch = wish, but they translated it wrong as hope/kibou for the dubs.Vahn Staffear wrote:I agree the voices in that preview were filled with so much emotionAuraTwilight wrote:Well, the quotes are said outloud in English. Haß is obsolete, it's Hass nowadays. I don't get the usage of the Esszet(ß) completely since the politicians decided to reform written german in 1996.

Hmm, maybe CC2 needs a native speaker like me for .hack^^
Well, I can see how'd they wanna use "older" German. Also, "kibou" can mean "wish" too, like "my wish"/"my hope" (as in a specific hope), so I think I can see how they got that from a German/English dictionary, and then used it wrong... But yeah, their German (and their English when they use it), is often pretty off...

Yeah they update languages these day's so much they can't keep up now-a-daysKuukai wrote:Well, I can see how'd they wanna use "older" German. but the thing I'm curious about is why some games these day's tend to use German words or phrases in there game's vocabulary?
Xenosaga and G.U. for example

It sounds cool, as simple as this^^ Also, germany has a long line of philosophers and the germanic/nordic mythology is often used for fantasy themes (e.g. Ragnarok).Vahn Staffear wrote:Yeah they update languages these day's so much they can't keep up now-a-daysKuukai wrote:Well, I can see how'd they wanna use "older" German. There is even a chocolate called Güte in Japan, meaning benevolence in english.
