Even with the tank clearing away most of the resistance by the time they made it out of the city Tex was down to 4 bullets in one mag and 1 in the other, and about 6 empty ones were lying on the ground behind them somewhere. Fortunately she had begun moving the tank so it was waiting for them. She hopped back down in it and took a moment to breathe and check how the situation had developed. Wow, I really wasn't out long at all. "Alright guys, jump in and buckle up. We're going to punch a hole straight through to the rendezvous." Looks like the armor's mostly intact still, they haven't gotten any good shots off on her yet, but they'll be converging soon. As soon as the others were on the tank, not necessarily in it, she punched it. "Hey Nagi, get on the fifty. We might come across patrols and I'd rather conserve the remaining shells." She shouted over the engine.

Tex halted the brute force program, she had forgotten about it, and began swiveling the turret. "Oh for the love of-Church, next time you decide to blow yourself to hell, just do it. I don't like people who are uncertain of their decisions." As the tank came into alignment she thought she saw what it was Church wanted her to do. "Interesting." The shot flew straight and true and she returned to booking it out of there.

"What?!" Sarah hadn't been paying attention, but instinctively jumped at the sound of an order. Church crashed right into her and they both flew backward a few mentres.
Sarah coughed; winded from the blow. "Get off me Church, I'm half your size I can't push you off myself."

Sarah squeezed out from under Church and searched for her rifle. Sarah only needed to take a few steps to collect the sniper and she soon turned back to Church.
"Alright, what are the orders now? The pickup can't be-" Sarah's eyes spotted the burns and scorch marks covering Church's back. He was still steaming. For a moment she forgot that they were in the middle of a mission. "Will... You be alright?"

"If you can complain, you can breathe. So shut up and get moving, both of you!" It was at this moment that a rocket hit the tank. "Nagi, you had best get going too." She blinked several times as blood ran down into her left eye. "I hope that doesn't cause any permanent damage." She wiped the blood away and checked her pda, they were less than a mile from the pickup zone and their ride would be waiting for them by the time they got there, especially given that it would all be on foot from here on. She could hear Nagi start to say something like I'm not going to let you die out here or not without you, when two more rockets slammed into the side of the tank and Nagi was thrown out.
Tex checked the hatch, it had been mangled to the point of preventing escape that way, and a quick scan of the damage report informed her that she only had one working tread. "Great. I liked this tank too." She slammed the accelerator as hard as she could and narrowly avoided another rocket. She began her pda working on the brute forcing of the mines again, as well as locking the tank in full acceleration. Not that it would get anywhere, but it should by them some time. As the rear of the tank swung towards the rest of the team she hit a pair of red buttons and the back exploded out, followed quickly by her as she sprinted out of the tank. Bullets pockmarked the ground around her feet and a rocket swerved off course as the tank clipped it, causing it to explode on a rock to her left. The shrapnel cut into her arm, but she ignored it and kept pounding her feet towards the extraction zone. Trusting that the others were doing likewise, or providing covering fire while backpedaling as seemed likely for Sarah.

"Holy crap did this mission ever go to hell!" Sarah fired off a shot that took the head of a man in a tower.
Then, over the sounds of bullets and missiles she could make out Church's voice saying, "east,"
"Just one moment Church," Sarah had her rifle aimed at a man loading his Rpg. She waited until he was done loading. The man aimed towards Tex. Sarah felt the sweat rolling over her brow and could smell burning oil in the air. She waited.
"Any second now." There were three other men in the tower, all loading rpgs of their own. Then the man fired. Without wasting any time Sarah aimed at the barrel of the rpg and shot. The tower, along with four men wielding rpgs, vanished from Earth, engulfed in flame.
"That deals with at least a few of them." She moved to Church and attempted to pick him up. "Holy crap church! You must weigh three times me. C'mon I can't move you myself."

((Red vs. Blue references. It's a web series that was made using Halo. Sarge, Church, Tex, and Shiela are all from it. Shiela's a tank, she blew Church up once and then Sarge built him a robot body. Tex was basically special ops, and unlike my Tex she didn't have a major obsession with explosions. Although she did build a bomb once. It's really funny, you should check it out some time.))

They were getting a bit more popular than Tex would have liked, so she whipped out her pda and opened a channel to the pumas. "This is The Sleeping Death, the four of us are under heavy fire. Requesting suppressive fire, over." A few tense seconds passed before tracer rounds from the gatling guns tore through the air above Tex's head. "Affirmative Sleeping Death." That voice, no, he's supposed to be dead. The fire from their pursuers stopped for a full ten seconds, and even after they began shooting again it was much muted from before and it wasn't 30 seconds before the pumas idled next to them.
Tex jumped into the back of the first vehicle and knelt down. "Thanks for the pick up, any weapons?" She looked to the driver, and sure enough it was Wyoming, a member of her old team. He winked at her, "For you Tex, of course. Check the box." She withdrew the grenade launcher and fired a shell off. "Oh Wyoming, you shouldn't have."
((So, 1...2...3...shoot! I pick rock.))
Nagi strapped Church into the passenger's seat and jumped into the back of the second Puma, taking over the .50. The soldier switched over to his rifle and wedged himself low in the back.
