Chrono series hands down. CT by far was truly ahead of it's time, it unlike most RPGs had some real playback value, same with CC. Though I have to say that my favorite RPG was Breath of Fire 3. Kaiser Ryu pwned all, nothing can beat the untouchable, overpowered, tank attacker.

ohhh where to begin..well lets start with a time line in actually order of some of the best rpg's that i've ever played

DewPrism- This game had it all. action, gameplay, crappy ps1 graphics, and a chioce of who who wanted to play as.
a truly wonderful game with complelling stories and really fun and frusterating level's.

Klonoa- Wow... this game was the SHIZZ!! not only was it a rare game, but it was a really fun game too. with a good story and awsome gameplay.

Wild arms- western cowboys shooting each other with magical guns. thats all you need to know.

Suikoden- this may have been own of the best rp's that i have ever played.

Tail Concerto- this game was very challenging, but also very fun... and now... very rare.

I'd have to agree with whoever mentioned the Atelier Iris Series.

Not only that, some of the Final Fantasy's were good. After you play VII, it's hard to treat anything outside of X and XII as any thing less than a desperate attempt for sales, in my opinion. Even so, I'm still head-on for FFXIII that hits in December. Outside of that, I'd have to go with the Lunar Series. Cause it's good-old, classic style RPG.

Even so, for a more advanced feel, I'd go for MAGNA CARTA: TEARS OF BLOOD!

Can't forget the GOOD Zelda games, either...

ff 6-8 are ownage and ff12 beats .hack by along shot.

but i like very long games so one of the reason y i love ff

i still do like.hack tho just could b better
