There's a lot lost in translation in the original .hack// media due to a lack of name suffixes, honestly. For example, in the .hack//4koma manga, the fact that Kite refers to Haseo as Haseo-kun is very important to help illustrate the condescending attitude that he has for Haseo in particular. (Everyone else he refers to without honorifics or with -san) By contrast, the fact that Haseo doesn't use honorifics when addressing anybody can help to better illustrate Haseo's arrogant personality. And Atoli using the -san honorific with everyone, including Haseo, hints at her timidness in real life, even if she is very talkative and outspoken in The World.

Also, @Kuukai: Honestly, that doesn't sound too bad. I just hate it when translators will go all gung ho with one of those accents and make it so ridiculously thick that no one except for a living stereotype could be that bad.

The release schedule on page 1 contains the answers you seek. We're still on Big T. They haven't released Mirage Mutation yet.

It's funny. We've got all these random people coming out of the woodwork to give a few pointers on how they translate - but they aren't actually going to lift a finger to help, knowing we're dying to get this thing moving and done.

Then what was this?

If I had the ability to translate, I'd do what I could. I lift all of eight of my fingers and both of my thumbs. But I only speak English well enough to be a professional writer, so I offered to be an editor, which they politely informed me they don't need. My skill-set does not fit with the project at this time, so what else do you want me to do? I can't learn Japanese in an instant, so the best I could do is use something like Capture2Text and some translation program, which would have a high chance of yielding substandard results.

I have to agree with Kasami by asking: What are you contributing to the project?
If you are cheering the project on, try to do so without accusations or making people feel bad about what they can and can't do. It's very likely that you don't know these people very well, so to "know" that "they aren't actually going to lift a finger to help" is a bit offensive. At least, it is to me, since I did offer to help and offered my pointers since they asked. I can't speak for everyone, though, so maybe your comment only rubs me the wrong way, and not other people.

If I'm taking it incorrectly, you have my apologies.

Exactly. I asked some open questions, people are giving their input.

I don't have the skills to translate. But they do. Which is why they're giving pointers in the first place. That's what i'm saying.

Off topic but.. The Aura Twilight that wrote this is not the original AT... Is he/she?...

Returning to topic, i'd love to help. Unfortunatedly i don't have any japanese translation skills and i doubt i can learn japanese for when you guys officially release the full patch... In the meantime i'll look for anything in the patch that's up at the moment and see if i can contribute to it.

Hi there!

I'm trying to translate the BGM names and I have some difficulties with:

- データ潜航艦第1章
- データ潜航艦Xフォーム後
- 楚良登場
- ニュークライブ (New Clive? Does it make sense?)
- 永久凍土
- 大砦 (Great Fort/Citadel/Bastion?)
- 火山文明 (Volcano Civilization/Culture?)

If someone comes to a proper translation please let me know...

These should already be translated in the current patch, and if not, then they are ready for the next patch.

The translations are:

-Data Submarine Chapter 1
-Data Submarine After the Xth Form
-Enter Sora
-Nuke Live
-Permafrost
-Citadel
-Volcano Civilization

It isn't translated in the current patch, so I thought to translate it. But if it is gonna be in the next patch I will stop doing that. Thank you!

"Volcanic Civilization" and "Permafrost" are types of fields in Link. I think we have these translated in the next patch.
