he's a hero who just doesnt know how to show affection because is one true friend, shino, was killed in the game and put into acoma by tri-edge ^^

Even before Shino died, he was an ass IMO.

It's just he thinks of things differently than others, plus he refuses to show affection or weakness because of his experiences as a lowbie.

yeah i guess it would piss anyone off to be pked on the first try playing the game, and then becoming a really strong player and get cocky about it then get it all taken away

Exactly. Haseo just had a bad first experience and he doesn't want that to happen again. After everything that's happened to him, the attitude stuck, especially when he was chasing Azure Kite as a PKK.

From what I heard, he also has a quite unhappy and lonely life in the real world.

After he got Data Drained, he was actually calmer. He realized that the way he was approaching his problems was wrong, but he still acted hesitantly and distant around other people to hide any weaknesses.

I would be pissed, to be honest. I am irritated at people who are too ignorant to know the obvious meaning of things. Atoli thinks The World should be about frolicking in virtual flowers. O_o

its just the way she is, it would be funny though if it turned out she has this other character who was stronger than haseo's terror of death and killed everything all over the place and she just made atoli to have a complete personality change XD

What's odd is that Atoli is paying the fee and wasting the time to play a game that she doesn't even understand. Haseo's reasons are right, but the way he approached her about it was wrong.

one thing ive realized about .hack is the fee doesnt really matter considering everyone who you see starting to play just kinda jumps on (like in .hack//legend of the twilight, whether you read the manga or saw the anime, shugo just kinda jumped on and started playing; same with everyone in .hack//liminality)

The slashing at a tree was to prove that nothing was real other than the players. He had a point and he was making it. He was right, but it was wrong to act as zealously and aggresively about it.

Haseo also mentions something along the lines of "If I hadn't met them, would I be enjoying the game right now like they (Silabus and Gaspard) would?" So pretty much being PKed n the beginning and being dragged into the Twilight Brigade turned him into the character that he is now.

Yeah, he seems to be regretting everything. And he speaks the truth.

Without meeting those PKs, without meeting Ovan and Shino, and without joining the Twilight Brigade, he probably would be a normal player, which is a good and bad thing.

Good: He gets to enjoy himself.

Bad: The problems of the World would probably never be resolved without him, and he wouldn't be so significant.

However, since he's a candidate, Ovan would've sook him out anyway.

yup, but thats the way the game goes, if all that didnt happen there would be much of a story cuz even though ovan would have sought him out eventually, the whole "being pked on the first day" played a big part in how he is presently
