Xander looked out from atop Curtis Castle's ramparts, waiting for something to come. Things in the city were seemingly coming and going, but they only looked like they were moving. Nothing was really happening, the people were making the motions but they weren't alive. So he had wandered here. Where the scenery matched what was actually going on. Things were far too quiet on a whole, that this place would be left entirely undefended just didn't sit right with him. The fact that the city hadn't been demolished by now didn't sit right with him either. They had packed up and moved many times when Xander was younger because the vampires were supposedly closing in or supplies were too scarce, but now they had a city. A true city, with easy access to and from vampire territory that nobody had noticed until recently. "The path is open, the board is set, and the kings are in their counting houses, are you moving your pieces? Is anyone moving?"

Another thing Xander liked about coming out so far from civilization was the lack of minds clamoring in his head, well, they were a little quieter at least. Reading minds was like seeing or breathing to him, he couldn't not do it. He looked at his watch, an alarm was set to go off at sunrise and sunset, so that he would know when it was safe to go out. Well, it didn't make much difference anymore, but when it was time for the sun to rise he would look to the east just the same. To keep that last little flame of hope alive, in spite of how resigned all those around him were. They put on brave faces sure, but deep down they all believed it to be hopeless. Still, Xander looked to the East and waited for a dawn that may never come, because somebody had to.

And then he blinked, Xander's projection faulted, and he was wholly in his office again. War was coming, Vlad was coming, night was coming, and he knew the preparations were inadequate. So he shored up their defenses everywhere he could. Whether it be encouraging a vampire to love a human or carving animals from apples with a lonely girl. Xander had to get them ready to kill Vlad and bring the dawn, because nobody else would.

Mary stood up, acknowledging the woman's request. She went towards the location she remembered for Nadia.

Theodora smiled, as if the land of death below her was a miracle. "This land is waiting for the humans to stop fighting. How I wish they'd stop already."

Raven: Theirs no time! call for back up if you really need it I'm going! { he runs out of the guild towards the lower plants and he notices it's almost completelly overrun by vampires} * dammit that rookie was in Geralds platoon* dammit hold on! { he bears his blade} is this an invasion?! what the hell the lower plants are under the city.. how'd they get in!....**** { he runs at the group} RAGH! {he claws through a group} INFERNO DIVIDER! {he slices upward as this dark red energy follows his blade as he launches them into the air as he slices them and that red ominous energy forms around his claw though as he makes a fist it disappears} Get out of my WAY!.... { he continues his assault as he starts ripping his way through} * stay alive...*


female rookie: { weilding a kusari gama} Captain! { she throws her kusari gama as it slices a vampires head off} we can't keep this up here

Gerald: RAAAHH! { he punches the ground causing a rock geyser to form a wall}...damn...that should hold them off for awhile is everyone okay { he looks around at his regime and their all badly wounded or worse except for a few}

Nadia: { she gets a transmission from elma} MAry donnely I had a different mission in mind for you but it seems as though our very own idiot has gone off on his own we need you to provide assistance to raven head out to the lower plants and exterminate the vampire threat...don't worry i'll be sending more shortly..

Yukari was only just finishing her Maintenance when the alarm sounded for all Hunters to gather. She looked to the other 'doctors' before touching a button on her Maintenance bed. A flash of light and it was gone as Yukari began walking out to see about the summons. "Wait! We haven't finished-"

"Doctor. Is my purpose not to aid the Guild in ending the Eternal night and destroying Vampires?" Yukari suddenly cut in. When the doctor didn't reply, she continued. "Then it should stand to reason that your tests and extra analysis are merely secondary to this main goal. Therefore, shouldn't this analysis be postponed until later?"

"Report back here the instant you return, Yukari!"

"Acknowledged. I will return after this incident is taken care of," she replied as walked out to meet with the other Hunters that were gathering to await orders.

When the summons went out Xander was already opening the door to Zorlo's interrogation room, an arm behind his back. Majere turned to face Xander and nodded. "Ok, Zorlo, I have good news." He looked up at the blaring siren and it shorted out. "That's much better, but not the good news. There's a whole bunch of vampires and your charge has run off to kill them. Also, not the good news." He pulled a boxed lunch from behind his back and put it on the table in front of Zorlo. "I packed you a lunch since you haven't eaten since, well then. That's the good news, by the way. Ouroboros, catch." He tossed a luminescent blue ball of energy to Ouroboros. "That should give you about five minutes of restriction free shifting, so you can head there straight from here. Have fun and enjoy."

Xander walked back to his office. He had his own role to play in all of this. Xander looked at his watch and began collecting what he knew he would need. He put his phone on speaker when one of the higher ups called him, but didn't give them the chance to say anything. "Trust me, I have no intention of seeing my home destroyed." He ended the call and grabbed the last of the things he would need. He mentally contacted Raven, Donnely, and Ouroboros and through Ouroboros Zorlo.

"This is the Mindsculptor, I've linked your minds together so that you can communicate and coordinate better. I'll be giving you status updates as they become necessary. Don't worry about personal secrets, I'll filter anything irrelevant out. The rest of the hunters are still coordinating. Zorlo, get Yukari and meet up with Raven and Donnely. You should find a photo in your lunch, make sure Yukari knows not to kill the guy in that photo." Oh, being the universal hub, this so much fun. He linked certain other hunters together as well and locked himself in his meditation room. If there were other psychics about he would have to devote himself to disabling and repelling them, but first he made sure his room hadn't been tampered with. "By the way, I'm about to give each of you a Heads Up Display. So don't freak out. You'll know what everything means and it'll be transparent so that it won't obscure your vision." ((Includes but is not necessarily limited to objectives and party member locations.))

Zorlo held his head and sighed before adjusting his hat. "How the HELL did I wind up in this crap. I'm not here to fight and kill vampires or any of that crap. That is none of my business. Spirit Walkers have no part in these fights..." Zorlo complained as Ouroboros hissed.

Don't complain, human. That human is somehow looking into my mind... it shouldn't be possible! the serpent complained.

Zorlo sighed as he used the orb and vanished. "I'd like to see them catch me... but I DO need to keep an eye on Yukari. She's the only reason I NEED to fight... if she's too damaged, my orders are to protect her. Then, and only then, will we engage the bloodsuckers. After all, the smell of burned vampire is SOOO hard to get out of your clothing," Zorlo complained as the serpent merely mentally sighed.

I care for neither, personally. Only fight if we need to. I'm no human, and you aren't human any longer. This fight isn't ours. We are merely observers for now until the situation changes.

Zorlo nodded. "Yes. I'll keep her safe... 'cuz..." Zorlo paused as he floated towards Yukari's location. "I wonder if she'll be able to sense me? I hope not... makes keeping an eye on her more difficult."

Zellos was sitting down at his desk in his room, he sat there as he did many times trying to open the tome. Even though he had it for so long he wasn't once able to open it, the book was resilient to everything he tried, and he figured if it couldn't be opened it couldn't be destroyed. "Man, why do i still bother with this?" Zellos laid down on his bed, never letting go of the tome he had been so accustomed to holding he fell asleep in just a few minutes

Mary cut off her thoughts as soon as Xander began. When one thinks, those thoughts are private. Why he linked their minds was an invasion to her. An invasion into something she couldn't even start to imagine. Mary headed towards her destination, finding it rather easy to cut off the thoughts in her mind. With the way she fought, thoughts weren't necessary.

"I would never betray the man I love. Even if he betrays me." She spoke, a smile on her face. She had been born for Vlad's sake and her only purpose was to be on his side.

Yukari simply waited for a moment before turning to leave as she noticed the other Hunter's seeming to being to communicate without verbal speech or visible signs. It would be unless to listen for orders. That's about the time when she noticed Mary leaving as well. It was out of what seemed to be the norm, but her acting alone gave a 79.65% probability of not being part of the possible mental network and most likely in need of her support. It was more then enough to make Yukari--who was already leaving anyway--decide to follow her, not bothering to to be stealthy and instead quickly catching up to her. "Excuse me. What are the exact orders for this mission?" she asked almost immediately.

Mary looked at Yukari for a moment. This person was someone she didn't know or needed to inform. In reality, this person had someone who would probably give them orders. She had no orders for the mission and was given a strict order to help out another guild member. This person or creature needed to ask for their orders before they left. She was not given two sets of orders. She turned around and continued the process of helping out Raven.

Raven: *get out of my mind...btw Xander...if need be I don't want too but i'm probablly gonna go full throtal down here* { he grabs a vampire by the head and slams him into the ground} WHO"S NEXT?!?!....

Vampire: how is a human able to?...no your not human?!

Raven: any other time and I'd gladly play with you

Vampire 3: oh thats right you havent drank human blood in awhile have you not since that time before you betrayed Lord Vlad....so you must be pretty weak huh

Vampire: heh what a br- {he gets slammed into the wall}

Raven: I'm done playing around { he looks at the others} It's been awhile { the ominous energy slowly arises from the ground as he dashes across the ground as darkness follows behind him as it engulfs his blade and he slams hit blade into the second vampire} SINCE I! { he dashes forth again as his claw inlarges and becomes black and red as he slams his enemy with it} CUT LOOSE! { the darkness surround and nearly engulfs the area as the darkness fades the 3 vampies lie dead in a pool of their own blood as Raven reverts to normal}...AGH!...{ he falls to a knee}...damn...I over did it...* hold on!* { he struggles to get up as he presses onward as he engages another group of vampires though this group is exceptionally stronger than the last ones} damn

Nadia: Hunters I want two groups of 6 to head towards the lower plant to help retreive sir geralds unit the rest set up barriers patroll the city if their is even a hint of a vampire within these walls i want it exterminated * why am i stuck with the orders what is IA doing?!*

"Whatever you desire, Master Vlad." She relaxed in his embrace, finding nothing to worry about for now.

Mary pulled out her dagger, cutting into a finger and summoning two bird like shikigami. The wind and fire bird set some of the vampires on fire. Mary proceeded to attack with her guns at the same time.

To Nadia, "I think this actually falls under the defense department's purview. One second." He put Nadia in touch with someone in a position to help her.

To everyone, "Do not talk to me unless it is important. I do not care that you and everybody else is upset that I am in your head. Kill now, whine like babies later."

The lack of a reply from Mary didn't faze Yukari in the least. After all, she was meant to be a stand-alone unit from the beginning. The moment they neared the fighting, Yukari readied herself, falling back to her programmed orders. "All targets confirmed to be Vampiric in nature. Disabling Auto-safeties; Destroy all targets!" she stated as her eyes flashed a moment. Almost immediately, she broke into and inhumanly fast run, her first target never seeing her coming she her punch shattered it's skull. That drew the attention of a few others that jumped at her just to find her hits were capable of shattering even Vampirically re-enforced bones, a threat in and of itself. She leapt high and back from the crowd before she found herself overwhelmed. "Charging... R-Blade!" The familiar longsword formed in her hands as the first vampire reached her... and find itself split in half. A warning to the others that followed and begun circling her.

"You... I sense no heartbeat from you. Are you another traitor!?" a Vampire yelled to her.

"Negative. Charging..." Yukari replied as she rose her glowing arm to chest, the sword gone as she pointed what was now an arm cannon ast the confused and startled Vampire. "R-Cannon!" The resulting blast seemed to just vaporize several Vampires, the others back from her in caution as she reformed her R-Blade to continue fighting.

[Zorolo]

"Well, looks like she's doing fine on her own," Zorlo said with a casual nod.

Hey, stupid human, shouldn't we give her that photo? Ouroboros asked as Zorlo had already been writing something on it.

"Of course, of course. As soon as she's done killing off all of the mook vampires, we'll give her this letter and then we can go back to watching. After all, there is nothing sexier than a woman who can mindlessly exterminate vampires."

... was Ouroboros' first response. You do know she's not alive, right? the snake asked, not even really sure what to say to that.

Zorlo tipped his hat down, smiled and raised his hat again. "Yeah, but neither am I, so it isn't TOO strange."

... whatever you say, human, Ouroboros stated as Zorlo merely watched the carnage ensue.

Raven: arrrgghh! { he finally makes his way to the rock geyser} what the?...hey wait aminute...SIR GERALD!! { he slams on the rock} sir gerald are you in there!...damn * they can't hear me... hey Xander...I think I've found sir gerald platoon though i know i wouldnt be asking this normally....but I think i need back up* { he turns around as he notices even more vampires gathering} damn...I can't move from here...I'll protect this area with my life come I'll rip you apart! { he readies his blade as he rushes into the group of vampires} RAAAAAAHHH!!!!

Female rookie: { she looks towards the rock geyser} was..that *Raven?*

Nadia: * allright allright yes sir i understand...but their are still hunters l inside we can't just blow the operation and run I know..sir your my superior b-...dammit* SON OF A ****!!!! { she walks to the crowd} allright I got orders IA wants to blow to upperplants and i say screw that plant but we only have 20 minutes before they start to move i want all of you to gather up and hurry those closest to the entrance get out quickly! MAry will go secure raven and help in the retrieval of Geralds unit understood?.....I SAID UNDERSTOOD?!?!

For Yukari, whom by this point was on the clear other side of the Battle nearing Raven, merely continued fighting her way through the lessening crowd of Vampires toward the surrounded Raven. Shots rang out from her F*GSHOT, eight shots, four dead with twin holes in their skulls as she danced evasively from the flashing claws and blades for the Vampires that dogged her steps. Another grazing slash alerted her to a higher threat, her R-Blade reforming as she spun to deflect the sword of the enemy that just cut her. Though she had no real damage to her systems, her 'skin' was covered by shallow, unbleeding cuts that would easily have laid low a Human by now with ease. It didn't slow her in the least as she exchanged high-speed slashes with her newest foe. "You're not Human, nor Vampire. Just what are you supposed to be, the Terminator?" he said as he aimed a claw for her stomach.

"Negative," he turned slightly to take the hit on her side instead, amazing the Vampire as his claws barely penetrated her 'skin' and even began smoking soon after touching them. "I am Your Terminator," Yukari finished as she sliced through his chest, her anti-vampiric sword both burning and cleaving through the Vampire Swordsmen as she swung again to decapitate him and continue toward her current target, slamming into the dense ring of Vampires gathering around Raven and the geyser. Her blade flashed as Vampires screamed as she tore through defenseless backs and sides before they dispersed to give themselves room to fight, giving Yukari the leeway to enter the circle, her passing strike taking out a Vampire coming for Raven's back as she spun back. "Commencing dispersion," she said as her F*BSHOT Launcher formed in her ready hands. The Vampires in front of her were anything but ready for the explosive shell that tore apart the part of the ring in front her, the F*BSHOT vanishing as fast as it came while her R-Blade returned just as fast. "There has been an order to retreat. It is recommended you do so before you become too injured to do so. I will hold them here," Yukari stated to Raven without turning as she jumped back into the fight.

[Zorolo]

Zorlo whistled, impressed at the scene of a massacre he had just seen. "Stupid vampires didn't know what they had coming," Zorlo noted with a smile.

I'm somehow sure that death is much less painful than watching you swoon over a machine. Perhaps killing you... or letting you die... would have been a better option?

Zorlo merely shrugged as he laughed. "Hell if I know. I'm just enjoying watching this battle!" Zorlo noted as he noticed Nephilim tell Raven to retreat. "Hmm... a retreat order, huh? Interesting..." Zorlo said as he paused and laughed a bit more.

"Yes." Mary's voice was almost completely inaudible. Mary moved towards Raven's location, her shikigami and guns covering for him to leave. There was no need for her to do anything more. She had to focus on getting Raven and the others out, quickly.
