I think he was talking about the version of you hack, like from which hacking team it comes from.
As far as I know, there are 3 CFW in 6.60 : PRO, PROMOD, and ME. Sometimes, plugins are not compatible with some CFW.
I've never had any trouble the PRO version, and the latest version (6.60 PRO-C1 fix3) let's you play online with adhoc only games (.hack//LINK included) if you have a PSP-200x or newer.

Congrats on getting the first patch out even with the apparent minor hiccup! It took me a few hours to do cause, gosh there's alot of instructions involved but it worked! I was super surprised to see two e-mails, many item names, and a buncha monster names translated along with the cutscenes! I gots 1 related an 1 unrelated question for ya's.

My iso's size was alil under 1gb but the patched version is alil under 1.2gb's. Will each coming patch continue to greatly increase its filesize? And if so is there danger of you running outta space? iirc umd's can only hold 1.8gb's so I'd assume that iso, cfw, or not, PSPs can only run games within that size range.

And unrelated but do any technically minded people know if game audio can be obtained from the iso? I own the Link O.S.T. but that thing desperately needed a third disc! Having ta leave the game running just to listen to some of the sweet redone town themes, area music, and other stuff that was left off the soundtrack stinks!

Kuukai wrote:Sweet mother of Corbenik it's a video question! I think it's the first one, too.
I remembered this funny comment and formulated a video question! I only watched the videos once like a year ago after beating the game. This is because they're so long! A pair of hour+ long videos is kinda hard ta swallow. Is there any chance ya all could break them down and rerelease 'em in smaller segments? A series of videos 20 minute or less would be much easier to ingest!

I don't know what we'll do about the videos, but I think we probably won't be releasing more since the videos will eventually be all done in the patch.

In terms of the file size, the patched ISO will remian the same size throughout the various releases. It may vary by a few Megabytes, but no more. We are replacing Japanese with English, so the data change is relatively small.

The original ISO is probably compressed, where as the patched one mostly likely is not.

It's probably less compressed now. But it's a one-time jump and is just as likely to go *down* at this point as up, but only by a very small amount.

If we split up the videos I think it might make them harder to navigate. Youtube has a cool placeholder feature now specifically for this. It'll remember where you were if you go back on the same computer (you might need an account).

At JunBansyoya's website Hello Toaster. Google it. It should be within the first five choices.

Have you tried the patching yet yourself? It's not terribly difficult. Maybe you can get it easier than you think. If you really can't get it, perhaps one of us could ehlp you, but supplying a large ISO is not so easy if Internet connections are somewhat slow.

The CMD part is probably the most confusing.

You must direct the CMD to the foglder that contains the patch folder.

1. Open CMD by typing it in your start menu's search bar and opening the result.
2. Find the location of the patch folder by typing 'cd' (without quotes) and then the folder name, one level at a time. (i.e. if your patch folder is on your desktop, you type cd desktop). If your patch folder is inside another folder, from the desktop, you type cd FOLDER NAME again until you get to the folder that contains the patch folder, but do not go inside the patch folder from the CMD.
3. type the java command line posted on the Hello Toaster website, then the program should run for a minute if you did it correctly. If not, try it from the beginning and make sure the CMD is directed into the proper folder. place the patch folder in a simple localtion so it's easy to find. Once the program has run correctly, you continue with the rest of the instructions.

It looks like you had it right. Make sure the data and patch folders both in the directory that you get into with the CMD. It looks like you're really close. Perhaps if you put the folders on the desktop it maybe easier as you only have to use the CD command to your desktop then. Also make sure that the dothack.jar file which is required by the CMD is in the same place as the data and patch folders.

i.e have the data and patch folders along with the dothack.jar file on your desktop and then the command prompt should read C:\Users\Vampiric Rage\Desktop, then you can type the java command and it should work. If it doesn't, I'll set up an ISO for you.

You may need to install or update java
This is exactly the problem. It looks like Java is on your system but isn't in your path for some reason. The simplest way to fix that would be to go here and click "free Java download" to reinstall: http://www.java.com/en/download/index.jsp

If reinstalling doesn't put Java in your path, do this:
1) Figure out where Java is on your system. It's on your C: drive in "Program Files" or "Program Files (x86)", in a folder called Java. If Java has multiple subfolders, just pick one randomly (I picked "jre6" on mine) and then go to the bin directory of that folder. So for me it's C:\Program Files\Java\jre6\bin
2) After you open the CMD window, type this: SET PATH=%PATH%;"C:\Program Files\Java\jre6\bin" (replacing that directory with whatever yours is, but keep those quotes: this is the EXACT text I would use)
3) Run the other stuff from the CMD window.

I missed that at first, but then I updated my post. It doesn't look like it installed properly for whatever reason, so you're going to have to do what I detailed above.
