Voice acting is HUGELY important to the English audience. We want a person who'll do justice to the character, not some newbie they pulled in out of open casting calls. D":

Example of Good VA: Saiyuki
Example of what happens when you change voice actors: Sayuki Reload.

D:< Look it up.

Actually...I think it might be taking so long because of the Card game.

Because thats a lotta data right there.....yeah and what is up with that wedding scene? I saw a someones sig on this site with it but im wonderinbg where that came from.

any I think it might be because of the translations they have to do on the card game or jus t card game in general.

Does that help, Zer0?

Anyway... Summer seems a long ways off. There was a 4 to 5 month period between releases in Japan. This is about double...

Still...WHEEEEE!!! Okay, I'm sorry about that... Anywho, the screens look awesome! I can't wait... okay, so I can... but it won't be fun.

Summer? Gah! So...far...away...

If I die before then, someone better revive me with super special awesome necromancy and reserve me a copy.

I agree with the Crimson VS comments. There seems to be a TON of those cards, so translating bit by bit had to be kinda tedious for the translation guys.

Damn, why do they pick the worst times to bring out GU. They need to do it soon while there is no competition.

The reason why people thought it was going to come out so early is because the time between the old games was about three or four months. So we all just assumed that it would take just as long. However GU games are longer then all four so naturally they'll take longer. Plus they have mroe bonuses.

Why Feb-March was in line with their usual .hack releases.

yay, we got more info (sorry I just got back online) but sucks we have to wait till summer. If I get the internship i'm kinda gunning for, I wont have time to play it this summer(full time...NOOOOOOO!!!! ...but pays $2000+ 8) ). Well I guess I'll still have time to rebeat every game I own(if I actually start playing them again, cuz I dont play PS2 much @ school).

Well...this is gonna be long and chuck fullof RPG goodness to tide me over
(PSU, FullMetal Alchemist 1/2, Magna Carta, GU Vol 1, KH2, StarOcean 3, etc.....) good times....good times....

WHY?! WHY MUST I WAIT???!!!!

So, putting both English and Japanese voiceovers was just too hard. However, the English voiceover was done quite well. After all, we are not planning to include the Japanese voiceover into Vol.2 and Vol.3.
Ahem

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Damn I was hoping that they may have incuded that option in the next game

This is rediculous. They don't even have to make the game, they're translating it. And yet.. NINE MONTHS APART. And the japanese games, which HAD to be made, we're out faster? These better be some damn good voice actors.

I hope they change - Alkaid, Bo (Parts of him sounded like a 6 year old druggie) Pi, Atoli. (Actually, from the Vol. 2 preview I think they did change Atoli's.)

Or maybe..yes..yess!! They're training Haseo's japanese voice actor english, because truly only he can do the voice justice! YAY JAPANESE LAB MONKEY!

Why are people thinking that they're changing some of the voice actors for the game? It never said that, the guy asked if the actors from Vol.1 would be reprising their roles for Vol.2, and then went on to ask why the voices had to be changed for the anime. The localisation guy in his answer bypassed the first question and referred to the anime when he said 'Ideally we would've liked to have used the same actors.'

Here's the full question and answer:
1UP: Will all the same voice actors be reprising their roles in Vol. 2? The American version of the .hack//Roots anime has different voice actors than .hack//G.U., such as Haseo being voiced by Andrew Francis instead of Yuri Lowenthal -- is there a reason for the change in voice actors from the game to the anime in the American version?

Brian Glazebrook, localization manager: Ideally, we would have liked to use the same actors. However, since the production of the game started earlier than Roots, we set out to cast Yuri Lowenthal and Co., who are all located in Los Angeles. However, once the anime was brought to the U.S. to be localized, the production was being done by Ocean Media (who has done many titles for BEI, such as the Gundam series). Unfortunately, Ocean Media is located in Canada, so it was difficult to cast the same people for the roles. We have worked together to keep the voices as similar as possible.

I bet the delay is some kind of marketing ploy. They wait till they get to a month they feel everyone has their funds back up again and then BAM, they hit us w/ the game. If they put it out too soon, maybe not everyone who wants it will be able to get it. (What lousy reasoning...lawl!) I dont know.....Maybe the time for actual production of the games....(but that sounds kinda retarded since the japanese get theirs out faster.....lousy American work ethic...)
