We know that the girl in the flashback is the girl in the chair pretty much for certain, but as far as the name goes it's just a widely-held guess that she's who Ovan is talking about... I really can't think of anything else it could be... Too bad the script for Episode 17 probably won't be out until Vol.3 is...AuraTwilight wrote:They're snippets of the Epitaph. As for Eina, no one knows who she is, or if Eina is even her name. It's just a guess based on dialogue from the trailer. It's postulated the girl in the chair and the girl who introduced Phyllo to Ovan are the same person, but even THAT'S not factual. We don't know if she's a human, an AI, or whatever.
The face of the girl sitting on the chair =D *SPOILERS*

Maybe, doesn't that sound kinda masculine though? Well, not as bad as Carl, but still...Tadashi wrote:If the spelling is アイナ it's still phonetic identical to EinerKuukai wrote:It could have a different spelling, anything in any language that sounds like "eye-nah" is viable, but I went with a German-ish spelling because it looked cool... Alright I'm going along with my Vagrant AI theory. I doubt Aura needs to be revived by some Vagrant AI, she probably just couldn't handle all the pressure of being a godess and abandoned her role. Nothing to dealing with having a gothic Vagrant AI reviving her.
From this post onward I am a .hack//expert : D.

I doubt she even left, but rather, she's in hiding.Terminal Disk wrote:Aura is still integrated into The World.

The trailer at the end of the second game.
Like I said, I hopes its not a vegrant AI, cause that idea has been reused and it would be boring. Let it be something new and different. Like the AIDA are AI born from the game right, or something of that nature. Let the cause of this be something other then something that's been done before. Maybe Eina is the first AI created from the game alone. As if the game gave birth to her.....wait I just remembered that Harold was in ROOTS so Eina probably does have some connection to Aura. Damnit, well scratch my idea.

Well, we haven't really had that many AIs in Conglomerate.Skeith of the Dawn wrote:The trailer at the end of the second game.

Well, while for Eina (more a than er) it's feminine, Einer is typically used for male persons. Female persons are described with Eine.Kuukai wrote:Maybe, doesn't that sound kinda masculine though? Eine would sound like はいね, don't you think? Also, never take the use of foreign words by Japanese dead serious. They managed to transform a Caffe Latte into Caffe Ratte (Ratte = Rat).

It IS Aina/Eina/Einer.Kouen wrote:Well it's basically a name we came up with from what we think we heard from the video. I swear I heard AIDA instead <_<.

We're saying there aren't any in Conglomerate. Whether you like it or not, AIs are part of what makes .hack interesting.Skeith of the Dawn wrote:What about Morti, Zefie, and all of the Vegrants AI's in the novals and books? I mean there are a sufficient amount of Vegrant AI's in .hack. Maybe not in Re: 2, but they have been the cause of enough things on a whole.
Well, Vagrant AIs have always been a pretty important aspect of Dot Hack, right? If I had to choose the three prevalent themes, I would say they are:Skeith of the Dawn wrote:Like I said, I hopes its not a vegrant AI, cause that idea has been reused and it would be boring.
1) A fantasy that is its own reality, in such away that something without physical form can harm you in physical ways.
2) Self-developing AIs; people "born" in ways other than the natural one.
3) A place where "fake" and "real"--PCs and AIs, in other words--are equivalents without anything determining them as being otherwise.
And since one of GU's themes is "History will repeat itself," it would make sense that one of these very important themes, if not all of them, makes a comeback.
So, I'm okay if they use the Vagrant AI thing.

Edit: Whoops, didn't see Bulletcatcher's post. Bulletcatcher pretty much said the same thing in a much easier to understand way. Sorry!

Eina might not even be an AI, who knows? Maybe she's a normal player, a Lost One, a AIDA host of some sort, or in a Midori-like state. On the other hand, AINA could be... I dunno... an Artificially Intelligent Network Anomaly that Aura evolved into, or something...
I do think that she, if Eina=Girl=What Ovan is Saying, probably has something to do with why Ovan has his arm, and why he and the AIDA (in general, not just the arm) "understand each other", and are "dangerous friends". She might also have to do with Ovan's past, and how he knows Yata (and also Gabi, maybe...)
So Eine would work? That sounds a lot like 「アイナ」, right?
Well, like it or not, TSN is fairly wander-y and AI-y, and if they talk at all I'd say they fit the bill...

EDIT:
That's because, as Yata said, "the Key of the Twilight is gone." The system's ability to make new things on its own, the Key of the Twilight, seems to be gone.Skeith of the Dawn wrote:I mentioned that they're haven't been any in Conglormerate and I know waht happened to them. I'm just saying, that I'd like something new and to be honest I really think it will be something new as opposite the the reminent of something. Possibly something born from the past. But not left over.
