Why? i think kite was THE target being he was involved with the herold system directly (aura). Balmung and Orca were probably also target because of thier relationship to Kite. The Azure name. If say we are fighting Orca and Balmung in the second volume, either we are fighting all threee in the third volume or something/someone else entirely. I wonder what thier names are? Kite = Tri-edge. Orca = ?????? Balmung = ??????

I still think they're all Tri-edge, but I guess we'll see...
Though, in the end Tri-edge is only know as that because of his mark. His real name....
in PC form is whatever you named Kite
So it seems highly likely that by this system their PCs will just be named Orca and Balmung respectively.
But I'm betting the three of them are also parts of "Tri-edge", though that name isn't even in the system.

Crimson VS looks cool, I hope it's fun and not one of those things they have to force you to play...

Its most likely they will start calling Tri-Edge as Kite and Orca and Balmung as their respective names now. Though, it would be funny to see what kind of Tri-Names they could come up with. Tri-Fish and Tri-Wing anyone?

Kite, Balmung and Orca all being Tri Edge works for me. I've felt that the deafeat of Kite at the end of vol 1 was too easy when you consider than a level 133 Haseo couldn't touch Kite. I know he didn't have his avatar at the time, but it still felt too easy.

Chances are they'll keep using the Tri Edge name. Since Kite was named that because of the mark. And I don't see the mark being gone just because of Kite being gone. Chances are it'll be reused for Balmung and Orca.

You mean like level 20 Kite protect-breaking the Terror of Death even when a level 50 Orca couldn't touch him? History repeats itself, it's not necessarily suspicious...

My save says 33, and I'm pretty sure that's because I did some leveling afterwards... But fine, I revise to "30". It's still very odd...

many people end it around lv29 and the 30's

The Fact that Kite is in the preview for Volume 2 leads me to beleive one, simple fact. HE'S NOT DEAD =P It was just TOO easy, And i was level 49 when i fought Skeith, either way i refuse to think Tri-Edge is dead.

On a different note, anybody think it may do some kind of Agent smith thing, like.. Atoli turns into Orca >_>!

Orca and Balmung, I never expected those two to show up, Kite we at least had some logic to his character surviving, but those two are a total surprise, for me at least. I wonder if they'll be capable of data-drain, the originals weren't, but they wouldn't seem all that fierce without it. I do hope that one picture is the cover to vol.2 here, it looks really good.

There is no way Tri-Edge can be killed from just one battle in GU. If it was that way, wha would be the point of playing the other two volumes?=p Anyways, think of the battle with Tri-Edge kinda like the battle with Cubia and Corbenic. When you defeat him once, he escapes and recharges, and when you encounter him next, he's more powerful and has some new moves.

Well Tri Edge did show he can regenerate himself with data drain as he shows that after you fight him normally before he brings out his avatar. So I feel it's very possible for him to return. It may need Balmung and Orca for it to happen as Kite is too far gone to regen himself. But Tri Edge has been built up too much for this to just be it as far as we go with him.

Or was it 30ish. I dunno. It's been years since I played and I can't remember the standard level for beating the game. And I'd have to go through most of my memory cards to find the save and check.

I just KNEW Balmung was gonna be in vol. 2 or 3. Mostly because of the silhouette(sp?) and the feathers in the vol. 2 preview.

Orca? Sure, why not. I'll LOVE to beat him up. (I hate Orca :X)

I think it's too soon to call them "AIDA"s...

But he does that, and then fights some more, and then he dies. Data drain is usually all it takes to end the invincibility, and end it it did. I don't know how he'd regen from nothing... Maybe there was more of him, but it's hard to tel right now. Even if he's gone it still might make sense to put him on the covers. The "spectre" of Tri-edge and what he did to SHino is still very important to the story...

I'm not sure if I think Tri-edge will appear at all in Vol. 2, when he appeared Ovan was telling Haseo that he would explain the truth about Tri-edge, I just think he'll be jsut like Skeith, he did the most, but died the first and that was it. Also I don't think we can assume that AIDA<Orca> and AIDA<Balmung> will have Avatars because the terminal disk just stated 9 avatars created, but, then again the preview Ovan said that the AIDA's created the epitaphs and it would just be dissappointing if they didn't have avatars.

lol, sorry, I should of been more clear, I was using "AIDA" for lack of a better term, and at this point, "Artificially Inteligent Data Anomally" seems to be the best description for them.
