The name is Saburou (三郎), not Subaru (昴), for the record. There's absolutely no relation...

Maybe Saburou is actually Tsukasa, her name based on Subaru.

VERY Unlikely, but you never know.

That greeting that new girl did by the Gate reminds me a LOT of aura in SIGN.... like enough alot to be creepy

actually this person acts very strangely otherwise... reminds me somewhat of Rumor from AI Buster 2

Pai refered to Saburou in the dungeon, 'he's late' replying the person she's waiting for in real life is a guy. then before she leaves she asks if she really wants that name, since 'Saburou is a male name' implying that the player is female. translation error maybe? Then again the character maybe Tarawaya but we don't know for sure how much time passes between episode and roots is supposed to span 8 months leading into Rebirth. Despite Subaru and Saburou not being related, it remains obvious that this player had experienced The World before the revision. Saburou even says that despite the changes changes in the revision this is still the world to which Pai does not understand. also it seems apparent that Saburou was a participant in Tan's secret service. Saburou's talk about 'the world' still being 'the world' in relation to Saburou being a masculine name is very comparable to Subaru's state of mind. i think there might be connection with the characters, not nessessarilly the names. on another note, the real Tsukasa was girl while the Tsukasa in 'the world' was a guy.

hey, I'm new here. i just looked through this thread and decided to join in. With all this talk of sign, could it be possible that after Shino was DD, she would come back as another character, as Atoli? A similiar situation would be like in Sign where Maha was DD and came back as Mia in the .hack games.

and lieik, Shino being Atoli wud totallee ruin the symbolism behind teh Mirage of Deceit and teh Love Square involving Atoli, Haseo, Shino, and Ovan.

Not to mention they don't act anything at all alike, and how it's really common for characters to have similar appearances in videogames.

As for the Sabourou character from episode 14, she is definately NOT Subaru. They act nothing alike, and there's no way Subaru is gonna be seen without Tsukasa. Not to mention that Subaru would never do anything to break the rules. I mean she frickin' ran the Crimson Knights. It's also implied this new character is male, while Subaru is a fiiiiine lady

This character is probably Tawaraya, but I'm really hoping not or I'll have nightmares. Hopefully it's someone knew who was part of TaN just offscreen or something, like how you're supposed to assume that the 5000 members of TaN are there even though we only see a handful.

Okay so not Subaru... nya nya! its Tarawaya! if thats who it is i will laugh.

edit: actually i've seen black and white sketches of the real Tsukasa and Subaru and i have to say they're not too bad if you know what i mean. well from an animation perspective anyways XD don't ask me where i can't remember for the life of me! >>

.Hack//Sign, where Tsukasa and Subaru meet after Tsukasa leaves the hospital

Yes, it must be there are a few hints b/w the talk of Sabrou and Pai which gives it away that its Tawaraya in a new character, if you read their chat and take it in another context. I took a look back a the past epsiodes particularly 4 where Tawaraya arrives late and Ender is waiting. He also harbors no ill feelings towards Naboi and Ender, since he knows everything always come to an end. It really cant be anyone else, I'm 99% sure of it since there are no other major characters and the 3 other main characters have quit the MMORPG for good.

You forget that The World isn't like todays MMORPGs, apart from the fact that its unusually advanced, it runs on the 'flawless' Altimit OS, there are probably separate measures in place to stop people getting around suspension.

And try not to double-post.

I've heard this, but I don't remember seeing it in the episode... and what do you mean by Kamui? Are you saying she was banned from "The World"? I don't quite remember that... Unless you are talking about what she did, to the PC's. Then that makes sense.

As someone said before Tawaraya didn't bear any ill will towards Ender and Naobi, even sharing his real name, (well at least with Ender) Which is interestingly enough Tsukasa, but that's only a coincidence. He seemed to respect Ender and Naobi, and they speak of an unbanned account in that as well.

And Tawaraya was in a way "The Dark side of TaN" It's obvious that would get in between "The Merchants" Moral values and the like. What undid TaN is when he confronted Naobi about Shino's info. (if he even made it to him).

As far as that is concerned, Ovan never went off-line. Remember his PC body was trapped also remember that Sakisaka did say something about the fact that Ovan was still on-line when everyone was wondering where Ovan was.

Apologize about the double post, however if I think it correctly, how do they stop the same person from going to the net cafe and register as a new user there, as its a different computer unless they take some secret sample from your gentials or something?

Flawless Altimit OS in 2007 we havent even got a flawless windows yet. As computers are very expensive, even if CCcorp was suspended Tawaraya knew exactly what he was doing so he would make a new character in case his main gets banned by setting up a new account (I would do the same thing to in Tawaraya's case), by all means the CCcorp would allow this (lets say its 20 dollars per month to put it in perspective). If they ban the characters and disallow the users to make new ones they would lose income and dont say that Tawaraya would be an isolated case, if you ban 100 users outright you essentially lose 2000 dollars, now thats a lot of income even if you have 12 million users online but thats depending if bandai wants to make this game realistic or not, realistic they would allow this to happen, in a fake case they would not.
