Re: War of the Dragon (RP)
The Hawk, Aurora, winged away from Rhys in minor startlement before circling again. It did, however, look back at Rhys like he was retarded before finally landing on the Rose Apothecary's roof to wait, surrounding in an indignant air.
Huh... something pissed off Aurora... Maerlyn thought to herself as Zorlo dealt with the crowd outside. But then, she had heard a weird 'squawk' earlier. Maybe that was it. She'd have to ask later. In the meantime, her attention was currently taken by Jenkins' question, the Human's demeanor making her laugh a moment. As expected, she had a beautiful laugh. "Something like that. The White Kobold asked me to come and join the other her sent here. I'm Maerlyn, by the way. Nice to meet you," she replied to him.

Re: War of the Dragon (RP)
"Be weary, little farmboy. Despite her apparent appearance, she's still a harpy. They find your kind most tasty," Zorlo jested as he looked at the woman before crossing his arms. He paused, acknowledging his thought at not just simply a joke, but still highly comical to him. "Anyway, we'd best get out of here. If a harpy's shown up, the Inquisitors are apt to follow, and the witch hunters after them. I can fight them, but I shan't do so in a public forum. Just because Paladins and Inquisitors argue over means and ends doesn't mean that, to the mindless rabble and masses, we are enemies. The Clerics tend to keep us from fighting, albeit with great difficulty at times."
The green haired Paladin sighed as he thought. "Let's get to the boat. We'd best escape this town before this place is beset by... unpleasantness."

Re: War of the Dragon (RP)
"He did? That's great. I'm Jenkins." He laughed at Zorlo's comment, "Her a harpy? I didn't peg you for the jesting sort. I guess, you were just so uptight because of the doctor." It took the rest of Zorlo's statement for it to sink in that the paladin wasn't joking. "Oh so, OH."
As they walked, he looked from the paladin to the harpy and back several times before he just sighed quietly saying, "An evil doctor, a wingless harpy, and a paladin with a blood stained hand. I'm meeting a lot of strange people today." He turned to the half-elf, "Why is your hand bleeding? Would you like me to fix it?"
A ship in the harbor stood out amongst the rest, the S. S. Celt. A typical looking merchant vessel with the crimson lamar family flag. But that isn't what made it stand out, what made it stand out was the fact that every sailor on it was wearing some sort of hat, and the captain was a large older man with the most immense hat of them all adding to his considerable height.

Zorlo looked at Jenkins and laughed. "Thanks for the offer, but no thanks. You are a very good-looking man, however, I'm-" Zorlo paused as he looked up and froze for a second. His face seemed filled with intense terror for a moment as he stepped back.
From where the paladin had been looking, a blue-haired woman approached. Although she looked, for all accounts, human, something about her was distinctly not. She had an unnaturally... good... aura. Her hair was dark blue and seemed to have a metallic shine and she was looking at a device with an arrow pointing towards the group. The arrow comprised of light suddenly spun about unstably before vanishing. "Darn, I've lost him again," she whispered, looking at Jenkins, Rain and Maerlyn. "Excuse me... have you all seen a green-haired Half-elf. I'm looking for him... but he's rather effectively evaded me thus far. Oh, but when I find him..." she commented, removing her mace from her belt and shattering a stone, "I'm so gonna make him pay for making me travel way out here to find him."
Elsewhere, Zorlo had taken to hiding in the ship. FOr now, it was the only place he knew he'd be safe. That woman... there was no doubt she'd find him if he didn't use everything in his powers to prevent that from happening. Oh how complicated...

"Huh... can't say that I've seen that very often," Maerlyn murmured to herself, her Hawk familiar coming to land on her shoulder. "But to answer your question, Did see someone like that at that building over there. Said something about 'cleansing the place of evil spirits," Maerlyn replied to the woman, pointing back to the Rose Apothecary. It wasn't a lie, as Zorlo had said just that. It just wasn't his current location. Besides, she'd never seen a person in such heavy armor move so fast. It was rather entertaining. "If I may, why do you want to 'make him pay'?"
Re: War of the Dragon (RP)
THe woman stared at the woman and narrowed her eyes. "Hmm... an illusion? You're not what you appear," the Aasimar said as she approached and looked at the necklace. "Ah, now I see!" the woman said, hitting her fist into her now empty hand. "Illusionary magic!" she said victoriously as she stared at the other woman. "Hmm... still, you don't look the type..." she muttered to herself. "You smell too much of blood and violence."
The cleric began to mutter to herself incoherently as she looked around. The question the harpy had asked finally set in. "While, he's my betrothed. He and I are supposed to be married right now, but every time I find him and attempt to force him to settle down and set aside his Paladin goals, he sneaks out using the most unorthodox, yet Paladin allowed, talents I've ever seen. Do you have any idea how frustrating it is trying to tie the knot with a guy who convinces the guards you set on him to join him in an epic battle? I'm convinced even more than that that there's an insider who's helping him escape as well, but I can't imagine whom," she said, looking around frustratedly.
"But you said he's in that Apothecary, right? Well, you'd best hope so, because if he's not... well, let's just say I'll make you regret it!" the Aasimar Cleric stated with a very kind smile as she walked off.
When she was a safe distance away, Zorlo's head peaked up over the railing of the ship and looked at Maerlyn and Jenkins. "Is she gone yet? Is it safe?!"

Re: War of the Dragon (RP)
Jenkins furrowed his brow in confusion at Zorlo's reasoning, and when realization finally dawned the blue haired woman was upon them and Zorlo had disappeared. He stomped towards the ship, "Zorlo! I wasn't planning on kissing you on the mouth, I'm not into guys." He turned to Maerlyn, "I like women, honest. It's just how my power works."
A large hand wrapped around the back of Zorlo's neck and picked him up, turning him to face the captain. "What do you think you are doing on my ship" the man raised his had as if to smash Zorlo's skull in but instead placed a green beret on his head, "without a hat?" The large man set Zorlo down and patted him on the back. "I am Edward Newgate, captain of the S.S. Celt. What brings you aboard my ship?"
"Celt? That sounds kind of like Silt." Jenkins looked the ship over, "Red flag. I guess this is the ship Rhys was talking about. Rhys, Rain, let's get going before Zorlo's fiance? figures out where he's gone." Still don't know where we're going. Maybe the ship's destination is our own.

Re: War of the Dragon (RP)
((Edward Newgate...? Really, Kale?))
Aurora looked back at the leaving cleric and squawked once. "Yes, I agree. Anyway, yes, Jenkins. Let us be off before she realizes that Zorlo's already left that place," Maerlyn replied to him as she turned and walked onto the boat with the others. "Hey Zorlo, nice hat," she said to the Half as her Hawk familiar flew up to perch in the rigging for the moment as the disguised Harpy leaned back against a railing. This was definitely her first time on a boat of any kind. It was guaranteed to be interesting, at least.

Re: War of the Dragon (RP)
Zorlo was unshaken by the man's intimidating stature and laughed with him when he put the hat on the paladin. "Well, my good sir, I am Paladin Zorlo Amaranth of Erastil. My associates and I are off towards some place far, far from here to go deal with Kobolds. We must escape quickly... there is a... well, I dare not say. She will likely hear should I say what I'm thinking. So, let's get to the escaping with dignity part of this adventure before that woman finds us. I need a drink," the Paladin said as he continued carrying his helm under his arm and headed under the deck.
Well, that was where he was heading, first he had to add, "Oh, come now, Jenkins. It's okay. I'm sure you've ill seen something as exotic as me. Just please, if you have those feelings, I'd ask to you remain completely professional during this adventure. It isn't you, it's me," Zorlo joked as he headed under the deck to go take a look around... and effectively hide.
Elsewhere, the door to the Apothecary opened as the woman peered in. "Where is he? I heard there's a green-haired Half-Elf here! I need to speak with him. Where is he?" she asked sweetly, looking inside before actually walking in.

Re: War of the Dragon (RP)
(Sorry guys. This Rp is moving too fast for me to keep up. Between school and work...I just can't do it. Sorry, I'm gonna have to drop out of this one. Adios Folks.)
Re: War of the Dragon (RP)
((What can I say, I like the name. Ok, I'm sorry to hear that Kite.))
The captain thought to himself, "Escape you say?" before shouting, "Mr. Arrow, get us out to see and have someone show him the ropes." Newgate moved to tower above Maerlyn, Jenkins, and Rain. "Nobody sails for free, everyone works. What can each of you do? And does anybody have any experience with a gun?" Jenkins raised his hand, "I've fired one, once. The owner had taken a hit from an Ogre's club so he handed it to me." "You hit anything with it, Mr. Farmer?" "I dropped the ogre." "Probably beginner's luck. But when we're under way I'll let Mr. Red make an evaluation, in the meantime, get up to the crow's nest and he'll give you the basics."
Captain Newgate turned to Rain, "Mr. Blue, Mr. Black will be giving you the run down on the catapult and ballistas. Do not burn my ship down." He turned his stare upon Maerlyn, "I'm not very good at judging the capabilities of women Ms. Green, but I suggest you sleep in my cabin rather than with the men and you should not wear those pretty rocks around your neck while you're moving about. If they fall off they'll end up on the bottom of the sea. So, what can you do? Or are you just some aristocratic floozy who ran away from home with her family's prized jewels and hopped on the first ship you saw?"

Rain: { he suddenly just appears before them} do I seriously have that little of a presence....before you ask no it wasent magic I've been here the whole time { he walks onto the boat} hey jenkins you think theirs food onboard?
Re: War of the Dragon (RP)
A dark haired man wearing a black bandanna and missing three fingers from his left hand gave Rain a blue bandanna, "This way, Mr. Blue, watch your fingers and be careful with the fire, the tar, the pitch, and well pretty much everything. You burn the ship down and I will personally attach you to the mast with a bolt from a ballista. We are the first line of defense and offense for the ship, so pay attention and you'll do fine." Mr. Black patted him on the back with his left hand.
Re: War of the Dragon (RP)
As the woman finished searching the now empty Apothecary, she sighed. She noted an amount of blood on the ground and removed a vial before taking a few drops of it and placing it within the compass. The compass glowed brightly as it located where the man had gotten off to. "SOn of a... He's so dead!"
A screech that sounded like it came from a Banshee was followed by the door on the apothecary's door flying off of its hinges. "YOU CAN'T GET AWAY," she yelled angrily before rushing at the boat.
Elsewhere, on the boat, Zorlo's head popped out from the stairs leading under the deck and shivered. "I'd suggest leaving... if you want your ship in tact for longer than the next five minutes. If that blue-haired woman gets here... well, I don't really want to expand on that," Zorlo said before ducking back under the deck.

Re: War of the Dragon (RP)
The almost supernatural screech made both Aurora & Maerlyn turn toward the semi-distant Apothecary. That's probably not good... she thought before turning back. "I've got good eyes, not afraid of heights, I'm stronger then I look and I can cast spells. That should about cover things for you, Captain. And thanks for the advice. I'll keep it in mind," she replied to the towering man before looking back again. Somehow, she had the feeling it was already too late.
Re: War of the Dragon (RP)
"Good, get to the nest Ms. Green. You will be pairing with Mr. Farmer for watch. Speaking of..." Mr. Arrow set Zorlo down with the rowers, since he seemed to have so much energy. The ship made good speed out to sea, beating the aasimar woman by a still narrow margin. Mr. Red set up some targets on the open water to see how good of a shot Jenkins was. As it turned out, Red was convinced Jenkins was lying about only firing a gun on one prior occasion. Mr. Black was pleased to find that Rain was a quick study on the finer points of siege equipment. And Zorlo, well he wasn't a terrible addition to the crew. It soon became apparent that this was no ordinary merchant vessel, rather it was a pirate hunting vessel. A few days out the ship encountered a trio of pirate vessels. Bearing the flag of the pirate lord Don Krieg.
"Mr. Arrow, turn us 90 degrees to starboard! All hands to battle stations! Mr. Black, focus fire on the starboard vessel, Ms. Green we'll be counting on you to call out the firing ranges and when they get close use your magic to support us from the nest, Mr. Red head to the bow and manage the firing squad, soften up the port vessel as best you can, Mr. Farmer fire at will and make certain Ms. Green comes to no harm. Paladin, you are on damage control until they pass us on the starbord side you will then board the lead enemy vessel and seek out their captain, just find the most evil thing aboard that ship and smite it straight to hell. Mr. Blue, when they get too close for the ballistas you will join in the defense of our vessel." Captain Newgate, echoed by Mr. Arrow, continued to shout further orders including ones for Mr. Purple to board the port vessel.
The focused fire from the artillery managed to set the starboard vessel ablaze, disabling it and then it did something most unexpected, it exploded. The return fire was relatively light, but it came from cannons and one of the cannonballs struck the bow of the ship and killed or flung overboard almost all of the gunmen, including Mr. Red. This caused Jenkins to exclaim, "Are they using gnome magic?" He didn't really get a chance to have his question answered as fighting broke out in full swing. However, before boarding proper could happen a black clad man teleported aboard the S. S. Celt and slashed up Captain Newgate quite badly before disappearing and reappearing amongst the crew, slashing. Captain Newgate, blood coming out of his mouth but still standing, shouted, "Paladin, don't forget your job. That goes for the rest of you as well." When Jenkins took a shot at Rinzler the man dodged it and threw a chakram up at the crow's nest. Jenkins tackled Maerlyn and the weapon passed through the wooden crow's nest and cut through the flesh of his shoulder a second later it grazed his neck on it's return path to it's owner who seemed no less lethal without it.
Great, injured in two places I can't reach. Jenkins thought to himself as he put a hand to his neck and stood back up, spotting what could only be the enemy captain given the clearly expensive dwarven full plate that and the way his entire crew seemed to be cowering in fear of him, the pirate lord himself Don Krieg.

Re: War of the Dragon (RP)
Zorlo looked between Krieg and Rinzler, obviously torn between the two. "Let's see... I think they can handle that guy with the chakrams... and if not, I've got three smites and six challenges. I'll deal with this really easily," the man said with a chuckle as he drew his sword and pointed at Krieg. In a flash, the man's body began to glow a more vivid gold as he smiled. "Foul being! Dare not flee from the demise you are doomed to meet! In the name of Erastil, I shall smite you!" Zorlo said as he spun his sword in his hand and prepared his shield.
Krieg felt compelled to fight against him, and as he resisted began to feel sickened by the Challenge Evil Spell along side his Smite Evil skill. "I'll handle this easily!" the Paladin said, rushing recklessly into battle. This would be a nice way to clear his mind of the challenge of his Fiance.
Speaking of which, the Aasimar was gathering up Inquisitors of Iomedae, the goddess she served. "Come, come! Our job is finding my soon-to-be... rather forcefully placed upon me... Husband Zorlo and make him agree to the marriage."
The Inquisitors shot her a confused glance.
The woman sighed. "I have the feeling that they have someone who wields evil magics with them."
The Inquisitors laughed at the statement as they nodded and agreed to follow her. Now they were off to deal with the group the Paladin was with. Probably capture the Paladin, at least. At least that was the Cleric's goal, if nothing else.

Re: War of the Dragon (RP)
Krieg laughed off Zorlo's spell as his men swarmed the paladin, a second later Krieg opened up on Zorlo and all of the other boarders with a dozen highly lethal automatic heavy crossbows mounted on the outer edge of his shield apparently without any regard for his own men's lives. From below decks came a cruel voice, "I'll admit it, Captain Don Krieg, you were right." A man carrying the hilt of a blade and shrouded in a magical aura stepped up onto the deck, backed by over a dozen more corsairs. "Newgate focused his attention on Rinzler's and mine's ships first." "Ah, Temper, excellent timing. There's a paladin here who wants to die." "Really? I haven't gotten to gut one of them in a while, and this spellblade of mine is thirsty." A transparent magical blade shot out of the hilt and a dagger of the same material appeared in his off hand. The magus spoke a few unfamiliar words of power and a cone of freezing cold flew from the tip of Temper's sword at Zorlo and the other boarders freezing many of them and covering Zorlo with a layer of frost. "You're still alive, good, I was afraid I wouldn't get to bloody my sword." On the plus side, Krieg was no longer firing bolts from his shield at Zorlo, instead trusting in Temper to handle the annoyance.

Re: War of the Dragon (RP)
Maerlyn got to her knees after the chakram returned below, looking down through the slit as she laid a 'hand' on Jenkins' shoulder. If he didn't believe she was a Harpy before, the feel of her taloned hand under the illusion probably convinced him. Energy ran across his skin as her spell healed the wounds and any other injuries he might have gotten. "Thanks for the help, dear," she said with a smirk as she 'armored' the crow's nest in thick layers of ice before standing to survey the battle below. It was about that time the newest threat, Temper, made his intimidating appearance with a Cone of Cold aimed at Zorlo. But, unfortunately, that was the least of her current worries. She needed to single out the guy that tossed that chakram and do something about him. There! It wasn't hard to find him in the least as she prepared a Spell to at least momentarily slow him down. "Tentacle, black as night, erupt forth and bind my foes," she said as a 20-ft spread of pitch-black tentacles exploded out from beneath the black-cloaked figure, doing their best to catch and bind him.
