Reynardine dismounted and boarded the ironclad. Upon discovering Shinu, "The death merchant? You haven't aged a day. Apologies, I am Reynardine Close. We met once, briefly. I wanted to make sure General Dale* delivered the package." Renard stood in what passed for a relaxed posture with his hands clasped together behind his back.

*General Dale: He's basically calling him a bad leader.

"It was at the bar, Zorlo'" Aria stated from her chair nearby as she poured herself a drink. The bar was missing a wall, allowing her to see Zorlo from her chair and the large holes through the other walls, and the blood that could be seen near the edges, told that the woman probably cleared any hiding Bandits the 'terrifying' way, by blowing holes through the walls and bandits both. "Renard wanted to meet back here. By the way, did you happen to see the item that that bastard took?"

Puppe almost seemed to nod as the automaton released Luca not so gently and seemed to glide back next to Tomoka. The girl was re-wrapping her eye like her 'big brother' had taught her when the Puppe looked to the side, watching Reynardine come in and talk. "I do too, sister," Tomoka replied to her Devil Arm's unheard question as she looked to Shinu. "Big Brother? We're bored. Can we go play with that man?" she asked, pointing at Reynard as Puppe's finger turned into wicked claws. It wasn't hard to tell what her 'Playing' would mean to Reynard.

Shinu rubbed his chin for a moment. "Oh, yes, dear, you can play with him," Shinu said, his voice more androgynous than it had been when the two had met last time. "Please deal with this man, but leave him alive. The others need to be kept alive. We need those tools to continue to follow us. I'll summon you when you need to return," Shinu said as he turned away from the man and started to walk.

Luca growled slightly as he looked at Reynard and turned away. "Don't worry, I don't plan to kill you. I'll let that guy's puppet beat the life out of you. After all, I like breathing more than I like making others stop breathing," the man said, cackling as he walked away.

Zorlo looked at Ashley as he slid her a glass of milk. "So, Ashley, tell us a bit about yourself. Your name sounds familiar... but I'm not entirely sure where I had heard of it before," the archeologist said as he adjusted his glasses. "And you, miss Aria, what will you do now?" he asked, smiling. It was hard to shake him.

"Hey, buddy, wake up!" Zachary stated as he kicked Laz. It was taking far too long for him to wake up. Man was this frustrating.

Laz pointed Joker at the man, “It’s locked-on. Don’t move.” Laz grinned as he stood up and dusted his clothes, “I’m going to have to ask you to hand over your valuables sir, otherwise I’ll be forced to take more drastic actions. Actions I’m certain you won’t like.” Laz held his Two of Clubs in his other hand, just as insurance, after all that other man was quick, but with his back to a wall, there wasn't much for Laz to run, just attack.

((Tell me when I can post my other char.))

"Yay..." she said with no real emotion. "Okay, Big Brother. I promise we won't break him." She turned to Luca then, the image of what was under those bandages still fresh in his mind. "And Sister says not to call her a Puppet. She dances to no one's strings," she finished before looking back to Reynard and smiling. But it was a Weird smile, a smile you shouldn't see on an 11-year old girl. "Mister, lets play 'Blood-tag'. It's just like tag, but the first one to touch the other's blood wins, okay?" she explained before the Devil Arm came at him, claws out.

Aria just continued to drink. "I'm looking for someone, a bandit that disappeared near here. After this, I'm gonna see if I can finally track him down... and make him Holier then thou," she replied back, spinning one gun before holstering it. "Did you want to tag along or something, Zorlo?"

All I wanted was to make sure the job was done. How did things get so complicated? What happened to the world? Things were so much simpler just a few years ago. Children wanted to play with my mustache, not guns nor my entrails, and I was a knight. Of course, you never really stop being one of those, do you? While Renard's mind was lost in thought, his body responded with a long practiced maneuver. He twisted and drew his saber, with what would generally be the wrong hand and grip, parrying the claw attack. And his other hand went to Pinball, he drew one of the pistols and fired it almost simultaneously. The shot didn't seem to be aimed anywhere specific, but the bullet managed to find it's way around the doll, through Tomoka's leg from behind, and splattered some of her blood on Close as it whizzed by his ear before it finally came to a halt in a piece of furniture.

The pistol was leveled at Puppe's head and Reynardine had sidestepped, putting some distance between the doll and himself, and flipped his grip on the saber, ready to counter if the devil arm came after him again. "Tag. Lucky me, looks like I win. I'd very much like to leave now, before you and your sister decide to try double-teaming this old man again."

"Poor Tomoka. Come to your big brother," Shinu said as her leg began to heal. "After all, the man cheated with his Relic ARM. You'll just have to rip his head off next time," the voice said from within the darkness. "For now, you and Puppe, my dear, please return to me. I can't bear to let either of you get too hurt."

Zachary looked at the crossbow and the bat as he looked at the man. The bandit tossed Airgetlam onto the ground and shrugged. "That's the only valuable I have, but you can't use it. Airgetlam only answers to me," Zachary said as the green glow returned to him again. If things were going to be this simple, this guy wouldn't be too difficult to defeat.

Zorlo took a drink from his cup as he looked at her. "Well, since I don't think we're getting paid for this event, I doubt we'd have a chance to get the money we need. Still... what do you know about this person you're looking for? Perhaps I can help you find him..." Zorlo looked at Ashley and seemed concerned. "And what are you going to do, little one?"

"Ahh..." Tomoka's cry of pain was surprisingly quiet as the bullet went through her leg and she fell, her eyes tearing up from the pain. Puppe looked back before looking toward Reynard with glowing eyes and electrified claws, as if it were angry. But Shinu's voice made it pause, the effects fading, as it looked at his Relic Arm and vanished. The Devil Arm appeared behind the now bloody Tomoka and, with surprising gentleness, scooped up the small girl in its metal arms and glided back into the darkness. "Lets play again, mister. I won't lose next time..."

Aria looked at him now. "Twin swords. Short, dark hair. Very skilled and willing to leave this-" She raised her eyepatch the reveal the deep scar running diagonal across her eye, near cutting completely through the eyelid. "...on a child."

Like that 'sister' of hers isn't an ARM? He thought solemnly to himself. "Apologies, I was unaware that ARMs were not to be used in Blood-tag. Until we get a chance to play again, adieu Tomoka." The captain holstered/sheathed his weapons and gave a formal bow to the girl. What am I doing? She's not a noble, actually it doesn't matter if she is. I don't have to pay anyone lip service anymore. "Shinu, always an invigorating experience." He inclined his head to the death merchant and hurried off the ship and back to the saloon.

Laz inspected the gun and pulled the trigger several times, “Wow… so this is a relic ARM I presume?” He tossed it up in the air, running passed Zachary, “Well then, I’ll be seeing you, I’ve got a bone to pick with another boy.” Laz tipped his hat before turning a corner, making sure he was out of the machine gun’s range, because he knew or rather felt, that this man would not brick-hammer to kill a stranger, thief or not.

"Twin swords and dark hair, huh? The only difference between him and our former "leader" is that Luca had light blue hair. Still, is it possible they're the same person?" Zorlo asked, looking at her as he stood up. Pumping his rifle, he fired off a shot that made the ground in front of Laz explode. "You're not going anywhere," Zorlo stated as he looked at the man. "After all, you're just as involved in this as the rest of us," the green-haired man stated as he adjusted his glasses.

Zachary picked up Airgetlam and smiled as his body became a blur and he rested Airgetlam against the back of Laz's head. "Yeah, I don't take too kindly to bandits trying to outbandit me. Still, you have a use. You're sneaky," Zachary said as he spun his machine gun in his hand and rested it against Laz's head again. "What do you say? If you don't agree to help me, they'll kill you."

As soon as Reynard had left the ship, the ship began to sail away. Shinu looked at the little girl's wound as he held his hand over it. THe bullet rose from her damaged skin as the flesh slowly healed over. "There, you are healed now," he told her, smiling.

Meanwhile, Luca looked on in disgust. THis whole event was insanity. Who the hell were these people?

"oh nothing much, I guess I'll just wander around, heck I might even bump into you guys on my journeys" replied Ashley with a grin, "but for now I think I'll go with you guys till I decide to leave, if thats okay with you" she added.

Reynardine came galloping around the corner with his rifle raised. "Is there a reason the two turncoat bandits are turning on one another now?" Renard aimed the longarm at Zachary, "Or should I not bother worrying about that and just make sure they don't decide to try killing us again next?"

Aria replied her eye-patch and took another drink. "The latter, though I'm sure the former is likely interesting as well, Reynard," Aria called to him over her shoulder before finishing the drink and turning back to Zorlo. "It's possible, especially if he dyes his hair or something similar. That's part of the reason I was here, but judging from Reynard, Luca's long gone, meaning if it is him, then I've lost my chance for now and will have to start searching again. And yes, Ashley, I don't mind having you around."

"Thank you, Big Brother..." she replied to him as she sat comfortably in Puppe's crooked arm, one hand holding the Devil Arm's armor while the other held her stuffed doll. She looked to the Automaton. "It's okay, Sister. You couldn't have known he could do that," she said the her 'sister' as the blood soaked into her legging absorbed back into her closing wound and the bullet hole vanished.

Zorlo waved it off. "Leave them be. The kid with white hair did help us, and the other one seems too stupid to do anything really dangerous," Zorlo stated, smiling.

Zachary narrowed his eyes at Zorlo and Reynard. "So... what purpose do you all have now? After all, that item has gotten away. I'd assume you'd want to capture that guy. After all, he did just get away with the treasure," Zachary stated.

Zorlo looked at Reynard. "By the by, how did it go?" Zorlo asked. "After all, you don't seem all that happy, so I'm guessing that things weren't exactly as they seemed..."

Laz sighed as he raised his arms, “You guardsmen bastards are even sneakier, double-teaming and stuff.” He lowered his head, letting out another long sigh, “If I say no, I think you guys will off me, so…” Laz stood up, “I won’t work for free, I want food for my services, as it’s harder than getting passed you guys to make enough money to live.” Laz took off his hat, “Deal?”

Aria stopped and looked back at Laz for a moment before turning to look him as if he were stupid. "Huh...? What deal? You just started spouting nonsense!" she said as she crossed for arms. Just who do you think you're dealing with, we aren't idiots and don't like being assumed as one," she finished as she drew her gun and shoot it, the bullet shooting just passed his head to blow a hole through the skull of an escaping bandit behind him. "Can't believe I missed one..." she said to no one in particular as she holstered the gun. "Anyway, no one here wants you, and no one cares if you're hungry. Either make yourself useful, go quietly, or go in a body bag!" she said harshly before going back to her drink.

"I'll tell you about it inside. You two should thank Zorlo for speaking on your behalf." Reynardine slung the rifle over his shoulder and dismounted, he looped the reins around a post near the water trough and patted his horse's neck. Renard got himself a beer and the highest proof thing there before he sat next to Aria.

"It seems the client was a man known as Shinu, or as you're probably more familiar with The Death Merchant." He soaked a towel in the high proof liquor and cleaned his injuries. "Luca was there too, they've left for parts unknown I'm afraid, so it's hard to say when you'll get to see him again, but I have an unsettling feeling that Shinu is going to be looking for me. A sadistic little girl, can't even of been thirteen yet, was with him, half her face was bandaged, and she had this very strange ARM that she called her sister. It looked kind of like a tall steel woman with claws, very strong and fast too. We played something called blood tag, I managed to get a lucky shot off before her marionette could overpower me." Close popped the top off the beer, "To the good old days, when I didn't have to worry about getting gutted like a fish by a little girl's doll." The beer was completely drained by the time he set it back down.
