Correct. IMOQ had two voice tracks in it's data for both versions. In Japan it was the regular story and parody mode. In the U.S. rather than use the parody mode the left in the JP. voice track instead. G.U. only had one track, in Japan. Thus there is no room.

I figured as much. It happens with other games so I doubted GU would have been any different.

Just noticed: on the dothack.com official website, under Videos, the gameplay videos numbers 1, 2, 3, and 5 are all the English version of the game, but with Japanese voices.

I think Yuri did a great job. It was a little shaky and oddly repulsive sometimes*coughMagus'Deathcough*. If only his voice were a little more serious and it would match the Japanese VA more nicely.

Yuri does fine. The only thing Haseo's JP. voice is better at is screaming really. And Yuri actually makes Haseo sound younger than the JP. version does. Not that it's important really it's just interesting since in English dubbing it's usually the opposite.

In my opinion, Yuri was average. It seemed that he portrayed Haseo like some kinda punk brat too much in my opinion.
I prefer most of the Japanese voice actors, except for Gabi. Gabi's voice actor was great in Vol.1--I dunno if he has a different VA for Vol.2. (I think he does. =/)

I hope they can fit the Japanese side of the audio track onto Vol.2, but if not, I'm not that bothered.
It'd be a nice plus, though.

I do not think they will have a japanese track.

The voices are ok in english, the only thing's I'd actually complain about is that Yowkows voice is too low in english and you cant tell the differences in the way sakubo talks depending on the "player".

Um Saku and Bo both sound clearly different to me. Bo sounds timid and unsure. Saku is loud and rude.

As for Yowkow supposedly she will drop her whole tough act in Vol.2 and sound normal. You can hear it in the Vol.2 preview at the end. Sounds ok to me. Of course we haven't seen her in any Vol.2 gameplay clips yet so thats not a definite yet.

That's actually a line from Atoli. She says it when she notices her infection.

"What... What is this?..."

That was Atoli? Sure didn't sound like her. I watched the Japanese version and it sounded like Yowkow to me there. Plus look at the characters shown during that scene.

As for Saku's dialect that just can't be translated well. I mean they could give her a southern accent or something but that would sound kinda stupid.

I know. I was just thinking that her dialect reflected the personality difference a little better.

And it sounds like Yowkow? I don't think Yowkow has that line anywhere in GU.

I think the difference between Saku and Bo is quite significant, except when they're both talking quietly.

EDIT: To be honest, I don't think that voice is either of them, but it would make sense if it were one of them.

It's clearly Yowkow in the Japanese trailer. And she does have that during er "that scene" in Vol.2. There's no way it's Atoli. It's too deep to be her in both versions.

Oh god... Anyways, yeah it's not high enough to be Atoli. And it's funny, Yowkow actually has a nice voice in some instances in Rebirth. It's the most noticeable in the cutscenes with her (The higher quality scenes with mouth movement and facial expression).

Haseo, he sounds weird saying Repth and some attack spells. Zan Rom sounds pretty good, though. But, it would be hard to voice the spells because casting them isn't very assertive. He sounds better saying skill names because he's exerting force and emoting better.

I love the way he says the attack skills, and his voice rocks for Haseo. I never really heard Sasuke, so that didn't matter. Yuri's voice fits Haseo so well, I think.

Well, is it confirmed that Lowenthal is voice acting for Haseo again in Vol.2?
If you watch some of the English gameplay videos, he sounds different. Similar, but deeper. Especially when he says "This is it," for some Awakenings.
Of course, it could be Lowenthal just with a deeper voice. Hopefully he sounds less like a brat now. =/
