(And to correct that for you, Kale. :P)

Tia looked at the girl and stopped the about to launch of another Thunder Roar Cannon. THe floating girl... she was.. one of them? One so young? Just like her youngest sister, Tia couldn't quite bring herself to strike in front of the girl. The lightning in her hand dissipated as the woman's mask closed. "I see... I was interrupted. Zorlo... don't think of calling in back up again. I won't hesitate next time," the woman in alabaster armor stated as she floated up and away.

The green-haired man rose and sheathed his sword along his back. In the moment his sword clicked closed, the armor, sword and sheaths vanished. The swordsman stumbled forwards as he smiled at the young girl. "Thanks... for saving me. Thought for a moment... I was actually gonna die. Silly, huh?" he asked with heavy, dry heaves. Blocking the woman's attacks had taken everything he had to keep from being vaporized... and his body was feeling the strain now. "Can you... tell Elsa and Tam... I'm all right... and'll be home... soon?" he asked as he started to hobble off painfully. This was truly embarrassing for the would-be knight.

~~~
Meanwhile, at the Schrodinger house, the phone began to ring. The woman on the other side of the call smoked her cigarette calmly and composed her thoughts carefully. She needed to talk to Cecile, whom would have some concept of the hell she was talking about. Most likely, she'd have to go through someone, but the woman had an idea and story for that all ready. "Man I hate having to help out. Ruins my buzz."
When the phone began to ring, Maes set his spoon down on his napkin and waited for the fourth ring before he picked up the phone. The number displayed was a local one, and it wasn't one he recognized, so probably not a contemporary of his parents, and if it were any of the others with powers they would more likely have his or Claire's cell phone number, but the name was that of the apartments the others were staying at so maybe it was them. Now, yes Maes could speak now, quietly though it may be, but he wasn't out of his old habits and still unused to things like using a phone to talk to people and not just sending texts, so he pushed a button and waited for whoever had called to explain why they were calling.
When the ringing had stopped, the woman sighed. "Wonderful, I didn't draw the driver or the little girl. Instead i get the mute kid," Tamlin complained over the phone. "Kid, we've got an issue. I need you and your girlfriend to get your jolly asses over here as fast as possible. After all, you have a lot of learning to do, and life and death situations are great for that,' the woman stated as she sat quietly on the phone, waiting for him to hang up or ask questions. Either one would have worked in this case.
Arianna looked back toward the retreating Tia a moment before floating back to Zorlo and walking with him. She knew that she wasn't strong enough to help her directly, but maybe she could help protect him till he got back. "No... I'll stay to help you get back," she said as she took some of the bags to carry as they walked back. "Zorlo...?" She looked up at him, gaze unreadable. "Now that they've done something, will you fill me in? It seemed like... that woman thought you call for me to help, despite it just being chance I found you," she said to him, going over the words Tia spoke as she left. And that Armor... it was kinda like Sister's... and those Angel's as well. Are... they connected? Or just similar...?
Maes was about to hang up, when Morgan decided that he would not lie for such rudeness and switched. His accented voice came out of Maes mouth, "You are a rude little shrew, aren't you? Maes does not have to listen to your quips nor your demands especially since there is no evidence to suggest that this is not a trap. Did you believe that he would just jump when a strange woman's voice over the phone told him to? You are an enemy or an idiot. Good day to you madame." He waited a couple of seconds, y'know just long enough for someone to start to say something before he said, "I said good day!" And slammed the phone onto the counter and then actually pressed the off button. He coughed once before turning to Maes, still in Morgan's body, and Cecile, "It sounds like the others may be in trouble and their landlady has called to request our assistance, very rudely I might add given the hour, or the others are in trouble and someone has convinced their landlady to call us to try and lure us into a trap. Either way I suggest Maes to contact Claire, and then we finish our breakfast, no sense going into battle on an empty stomach, you two change into something more conducive to fighting, and then we head that way armed for bear." Morgan switched back and returned to lapping at his milk.
Maes did as Morgan had said and started to text Claire, but stopped and looked at Cecile. "Morgan has a point. It could be a trap. Do you want to go?"
"It sounds like a crazy event is occurring to one of us." Cecile spoke, putting her empty bowl into the sink. She adjusted her hair a little as she stood up. "What does Claire say about it? Unless we've got her permission, I'm not sure we should go." She knew that going on about life and death situations could be simply a scuffle or some sort of angel invasion. Either way, she'd need to clean herself up.
Zorlo nodded and smiled. "That's my older sister, Tia. She's a powerful lightning mage. Her nickname is the Storm Queen. The reason she stopped attacking is you probably reminded her a bit of my youngest sister... you do resemble her... a little," Zorlo stated as he picked himself up enough to move along. They were within Tamlin's zone of control, so the three wouldn't follow. FOr now, he needed to regroup and prepare. Tia was holding back... he had felt it after the first attack.
"No doubt my older brother, Cainus, is with her. My little sister may be there too. All of them are very powerful... Cainus is a master of the arts of summoning and Necromancer... along with being capable of shaping bones and the like. As for my youngest sister... she's... complicated," he stated as the two neared the apartment building. "That's all I can say for now..." he said with a somewhat sad smile.
"I think that means yes." Morgan supplied with a purr. Maes sent the text to Claire, and received a reply almost immediately.
Code: Select all
On my way.
"I guess that means she's fine with it." Maes ducked into his room and pulled on his jacket, gloves, and slipped the rings on over said gloves. He looked down at himself in the mirror. Look at yourself, a couple days ago you couldn't even do that, and now you're getting ready to do battle with forces beyond human comprehension. Well, you're not exactly human, haven't been for a while. Morgan stepped into the image next to Maes and the boy stared at his other half.
Ever since they had escaped one of the things that had terrified Maes the most was he didn't know if he was actually the boy that had been taken all those years ago, a cat, or... something else. "How much of me are you and how much of you am I? Nevermind. Doesn't matter. We're Schrodinger." Morgan nodded approvingly. He took a deep breath and pulled the hood up standing up straight of his own accord for once. What he saw then in the mirror was a figure both confident and somehow frightening. The eyes especially, those focused calculating golden eyes. After a minute the eyes relaxed, Maes shrank back down, and tried to hide behind the hood again rather than wear it. "Like I could do anything as scary as that." He stepped out of his room and cleaned the dishes from breakfast while he waited for Cecile to find something to wear amongst what Claire had brought earlier. One of these days Maes. You'll finally be able to grow up and not be so afraid of yourself. And then the cat followed.
Claire sat in the driveway the strange rock that Tamlin woman had given her in one hand and the grenade Maes had enchanted in the other. The grenade was golden with power, she knew that, she didn't know anything else about it, but she knew that with that grenade she could hurt the angels that had nearly killed her the day before. But if she was going to be fighting in a war against them, she knew she would need a larger arsenal. That was part of the reason she wanted to go with Maes and Cecile to meet with Tamlin again, she needed a more reusable weapon.
