The path to be a hero

"Sure thing," Luca replied before continuing his walk, Damien following behind him without a word. He did take the time to tip his head toward Aaron as he passed, a slight grin on his lips, but he otherwise followed Luca.

"He seems new to town as well, sir. Perhaps little Mariah could be sent after him next. It seems she's getting nothing from this Zetman, anyway, aside from someone else to spend time with..."

Luca grinned at the thought, replying "Exactly my thoughts, Damien... Exactly my thoughts. Shall we try to find our little angel tonight, or surprise her tomorrow with the news?"

"That's your call, sir." Damien replied humbly.

"And this is why you are here with me and not out on errands like she is, Damien."

"Well, I suppose it is always possible that I have had a nice date once or twice before, but it's not like I remember them either way, so I think this would still count as my best date ever," Mariah teased with a wink, although her words were completely serious. She remembered nothing except the false memories that both her sister and Luca had told her.

"Also, I'm fine either way. I've kind of taken today off, after meeting with my friend from yesterday anyway, so just being out and about is a nice improvement on my day."

Alex: really( as the two continue to dance he finds A way to somehow ignore the girl as he listens to Mariah) oh then your saying this is the best date ever?.. How about now? ( he leans in as he gentle presses his lips against hers as he pulls her close towards the end of the song)

Aaron: ( walks out of the alley way in the opposite direction of the two of them)...there's something off with the two of them...I don't like it whatever I need a drink!!! ( he returns to the woman to return her purse)

Mariah didn't want to move away, even seconds after the music had fallen silent, but she also didn't want to risk her makeup smearing from his closeness. She wasn't exactly sure how he would react to what was hidden beneath the skin colored powder, but she figured it wouldn't be an easy or exactly romantic conversation. She finally stepped back with a gentile smile and lead the way back to the table, saying, "You definitely keep improving it with every passing minute, but if you keep this up tonight, how will you ever top it later?" in a teasing manner.

"But yes, so far it has been, Alex," she replied as she took her seat once more. "I'm sorry about having to leave so early this morning, but like you heard yesterday, I had to go and make sure my friend was alright. He took a lot of the damage I should have, so I owed him that. He's fine, though. A few stitches and he's back to normal, as usual... At least we both managed to be free tonight, anyway, hmm?"

Zalthorn was staring where Aaron had run by. I would have loved to help him catch him, but he seemed so eager. Although he could have caught him without even running if he just walked down that path. He sighs, of course that wouldn't path wouldn't be obvious to a normal person but he can't help but feel like the acrobatics were wasted. Impressive stunts though, just hope he doesn't overdue it and get caught on Hero T.V. He walks passed Damien and Luca on his way to well... anywhere.

Alex: who knows maybe i'll play it by ear and I'll be the perfect Romeo to sweep you off your feet how does that sound? And no it's okay I understand I didn't want to seem selfish and I had a pretty hectic morning anyway...it's hard to explain ( he laughs playfully) but yeah I did want to see you especially after what happened last night between us so maybe the fact that we both have the day off worked out for the best yeah?

Aaron: really it's no problem at all really I'm just being a good samaritan ( the girl rights down her phone number on Aaron's hand)

Girl: call me sometime okay? ( she winks at him as she walks off)

Aaron: I love this city ( he watches her walk off as he walks off and catches up to zalthorn) hey you a hero? What's your story why all dressed up?

"I suppose so, yes," Mariah replied with a soft smile. "I still hated that I had to leave so early. I would have at least liked to tell you goodbye before I left, but if anything that should tell you how early I left. I had to get home and get in at least a decent order before I went to visit, though, or else he would have assumed that something a lot worse had happened to me, when all that did was nothing more than a few scrapes and bruises. I didn't want to worry anyone else, or hear that I looked as horrible as I did anymore, however." She tried laughing off her joke, but she realized she needed to change the subject before she ended up slipping and saying something she shouldn't about her visit with her 'friend.'

"My point is that I missed you, though."

Alex: (he smiles once she said that) so you really missed me huh? I'd be lying if If I said I didn't miss you as well this morning I don't know how to explain it maybe I could actually see myself waking up next to you in the mornings...( he smiles at her as he blushes at what he just said) Uhh and I-sorry that was weird wAsent it?

Mariah shook her head 'no' and giggled softly at his reaction, replying, "No, it just shows me that you genuinely are as romantic as you've been showing me these past few days, which is nice to know. Anyway, I don't know if you saw the boards this morning, but you've moved up quite a bit in the ranks. You're in the top spots now. I'm not too far off from you now, but I personally don't care, of course."

"Luca also moved up a lot after yesterday. He's actually right behind Alex, with less than a point separating the two of them... I wonder if that effected him being so angry this morning, now that I think about it..."

"That's quite impressive, considering how long you've been here, Alex. I told you that you'd take the title easily enough."

Alex: yeah but truth be told...I don't just want the title I guess I can tell you...the real reason I want to be king isn't for the recognition or the title or any fame I want to become long to abolish hero tv Made a promise to become long and show the world thAt heroes aren't in it for fame or glory it's out Jon to help people yet hero tv has caused most of the heros to lose their way and I'd hate to admit but they way some of them act they can't call themselves heros but to start I'm going totals the title and show them it's a heros Job to protect the city and everyone in it you have to be ready die in order to save people...(the look in his eyes is completely genuine though youcan see the determination in his eyes though a tiny bit of anger can be seen as he looks away suddenly) I'm sorry I didn't mean to go off like that trust me I'm really not usually like that

Mariah reached over the table and laid her hand on Alex's gently, hoping to pull his gaze back to her. "You're fine, Alex. You should have learned this by now, but you don't need to apologize with me. Especially if you've done nothing wrong. Now, I have to say that you are the only person I've ever met who came here after the title for that reason. I also have to say that I admire that you're in it for something more than yourself; something more important than yourself. A very few of us who have been here for years feel the same way, but then again, not many of us are willing to go against the more competitive ones to do what you want to do, myself sadly included..." She sighed softly and continued.

"But, if anyone can do what you're speaking of, it's definitely you. You're giving even the most veteran of 'heroes' around here a run for their money, and they know it. They're actually starting to panic because of it. Trust me on that one."

"You know me already. We cleaned up yesterday remember? I figured since I was separating myself from the 'heroes' I would change my costume as well." Zalthorn stretches his arms out. "So you got her number? I do have to say it was hard to resist helping you when you looked so determined, but I managed somehow." He continues walking, getting strange looks from civilians he disregards the stares and continues. "Just to be sure, you aren't a power user right?"

Alex: ( he manages to be drawn back into her gaze as he begins to relax) again...once again you were able to calm me down and help me relax ( he smiles at her) I truely am the luckiest guy in the world to have a beautiful and wonderful gi by you at my side... but why do you have so much faith in me Miri what makes you think I can truely do this?

Girl; ohh that is a excellent question isnt it

Aaron: yep I got her number and she was so thankful I lOve this city oh yeah your Uhh hawthorne right? Or was Ot calthorn? And nope atleAst as far as I know I'm as human as I can get though maybe if I did have one it'd be to drink all the alchohol in the world without getting a hang over

Mariah thought his question over for a moment before ultimately deciding she wasn't sure. She had initially been drawn to him because of how he entered town, and because she had been instructed to, but since that night something about him had kept her interested. She couldn't quite place her finger on it, however. "Just what is it about him that makes me trust him so much? I haven't trusted anyone like this since the accident, yet here I am trusting him with just about everything in the span of a few days...."

"Honestly, I'm not sure why I have so much faith in you, Alex. Call it female intuition, I suppose, but I just feel that if anyone could do what you plan to do, you could." She gripped his hand softly before pulling her hand back with a soft smile.

Alex: female intuition you say? ( he smiles to himself though the girl states at him) ..leave me alone tonight

Girl: come on Alex think why I am still here huh? Even though your here with her?

Alex: anyway shall we eat? There's still another place I wish to take you if your willing that's is ( the two order the food) so Anyway Miri you decide on what you want?

"It's Zalthorn. Sounds like a really good power, as long as you're resistant to alcohol poisoning." He looks around at local buildings. It should be a good thing that nothings happened today, but for some reason it feels tense. "What do you think of the King of Heroes? Do you know anything about him?" Zalthorn pauses at a crosswalk where traffic is moving quickly.

Aaron: the king of heroes? Can't say that I do really I mean I remotely new to this town on fact I just arrived a couple of days ago myself but I mean I hear he's quite the hero he nearly has a perfec record and he's been the reigning king for 2 years now right? Why do you ask?

"You have somewhere else in mind after this, hmm? You really are trying to impress me, aren't you?" she asked teasingly before ordering for herself. "Well, if that was your intention, you're certainly doing a good job at it."

A small shiver ran up her spine out of nowhere, causing her to wrap her arms around her stomach loosely for a split second. She looked up to try to see what could have caused it, as she was pretty sure that the wind hadn't been blowing when she shivered, but she saw nothing immediately. "That was strange..." she thought before unwrapping her arms from around herself, looking back to Alex as she did.

"Is there any way I could get a hint about the rest of your plans for tonight, or did you want to surprise me with that as well?"

Alex: well let's just say it's a even better view then this is here ( he smiles at her as he notices her shiver) you okay? Of your cold we can head inside sorry I forgot my jacket to give to you way Togo Alex

Girl: yeah way to go Alex ( she sits on Miris lap)

Alex: Come on really your choosing to sit there?...

As soon as Alex noticed her shiver, she shook her head and laughed it off. "I'm fine. Don't worry about it. I can't imagine a place around town with a better view than here, though." The sun was still beautiful off the horizon, although the colors were staring to darken as it grew later into the evening.

"You found her?" Luca asked mentally as Damien approached the table he had found a few blocks over from his apartment. Damien nodded silently as he took a seat across from Luca, looking out toward the setting sun. "Good. We'll keep an eye on her tonight and see what happens. We may step in and have a nice little chat with her later, but for now we'll let her have her fun..."

Alex: I'm sure there's one more place in the city though we can't get there by conventional means just trust me I happened to find this area a little earlier ( he smiles at her and soon their food arrives and they enjoy a meal together) allright then shall we go ( he stands up as e leaves money for dinner and be holds out his hand to miri) trust me the nights still young my romantics are just getting started ( he smiles playfully at her)
