i find it strange that the giver, Aura, would hand out the the bracelt that contains the skll DD and yet...she is so frail and weak.
I question to the fact can she have her own defenses?
Morganna was keeping Aura from using her powers.

No, it's an anime representation of how Kite's virus gauge goes up whenever he uses Data Drain, like in the games. It's nothing we haven't seen a million times before.

I think that Tri edge was made by the CC Corp tring to delete the dot hackers and something got left over and it made Tri edge im probably wrong though.

Hey well I dont know if anyone thought of this, but its been bothering me lately. What if tri-edge is a piece of kites corrupted data left behind, like those corrupted AIs in net slums. And when they used the left overs of The World after the fire they somehow transfered that croupted data.

CC Corp highly respects the .hackers in the period of Udeden. They're not gonna randomly delete the .hackers after seven years of inactivity.

Maybe, but Tri-Edge seems way too sophisticated of a program to be just a piece of Kite's data on it's own.

Yeah I can see where your coming from, but kites data wasn't exactly normal, and what if tri-edge became self aware, a true AI, by picking up pieces of data trying to complete himself. Mabey thats why he looks not "all there"
Oh and just thought of another theory. maybe morganna isn't dead. Yeah we killed the evil morganna, but shes part of The World she can't be truly deleted like Aura, and she created tri-edge because maybe fragments of Aura are in other characters data, mainly the Epitaph Wielders.

Yes, but for Tri-Edge to look "Not all there" He'd have to have lost some data. It looks like Kite's character has merged with some other AI or program.

You're right. However, the Avatars are the only surviving remants of Morganna, and they're not "connected" together like they were in the original games, so Morganna is as good as dead right now.

....So if you "connect" the Avatars you can re-create Morganna? If you follow that line of thought, then when Haseo DD's the others during Avatar fights, he's connecting them. In some sort of sense. Beat them all and you can re-create Morganna. Morganna can then re-create Aura. And BAM!, GU is a success.

No, Skeith is not Megaman. Epitaphs seem to be able to be given (which they've got to explain in some way that makes it make more sense), but as far as we know they can't be taken...

so how did sakaki get atori's avatar?

Using Atoli's Avatar and taking it are two entirely different ideas.
From what we see, Sakaki appears to be inducing Atoli's transformation and may even be controlling the AIDA that has infected her. Like Kuukai said, I don't think you can steal Avatars.

I dont think its the fact they cant be stolen but more like could that person who stole it be able to handle the avatar.

That's true, anyone other than a Candidate would be driven insane when using the Avatars...
Not to mention the fact that the Avatars are part of their PC and they probably couldn't function without it.

But with that in mind what happens when they are taken away? Normally irl a person who deletes their charac in an online game feels apart of them died. Now in the .hack series its another entity riding along side them in the battles.
So then...what if one of the ending parts to GU is the fact that all the epitaths either depart or die. And what would happen to the players? Would they go insane because they lost so much of their "virtual self" and power?

For all we know, Avatars can't be taken away. And I'm positive an Epitaph PC can't just be deleted.

What the hell? It's not like they're losing their soul or something. They'll just say "Bummer" and either make a new character or stop playing.

I think I know what he's trying to say, I think, couldn't it happen that because the game is so real, that its like your there, that if the signals to the brain are strong enough, that if it "thinks" is being hurt, dying, or dead, it would show the physical signs of it. Like people who think their sick, but not, and eventually make themselfs truly sick.

That is sort've true, and is the basic principle behind Data Drain, but actually losing your character would break the illusion, since it breaks suspension of disbelief.

Do you know that? Weve all come up with off the wall speculations and this series is one not to be coming up with common logic. And im not saying they cant be just deleted. Look at how Kite and co. destroyed the phases.
And it just like Kuukai says.
Kuukai wrote:Once they were destroyed their data just joined the massive pool of data in The World... Some might have been incorporated into Vagrant AIs or something, but one can only imagine most of the data collected by The World isn't used...
So even if they were to be deleted somehow or another theyd come back which will more than likely happen at the very end of vol. 3. Not only that but how they got deleted isnt really "that" important. Well it might considering we dont know but only a few facts of vol. 2.
And can you honestly say that AT? Have you ever played an online game where you met friends whod youd wish youd never leave? You get addicted to that world. It happens to everyone. People feel that they make another part of themself in an online game (technically they do). So its not just a "bummer". People get to like the worlds, get attached, then get addicted, and then they either quit or the server shutsdown.
More importantly im talking about the epitath not EPC.
And how can they not be taken away? Eventually 'The World R:2" will bite the big one as its predessor did. So then what happens to the old data that actually survived? Thats a good question. You can make a sequel but everyone will still like the first one, because of how innovative it was and their "memories" (hint) that they have with it. (thats one reason why online gaming is so addicting).
Now what happened to the old players? They didnt return because it "wouldnt" be the same as playing "their" character and "alter ego". Not only that but their memories of their good times in it make the next time they play not the same. In fact the situation changed so drastically they cant go back and play it because of its differences. As opposed to their memories and "back in the day" crap. So what happens? They try to suck it up or quit playing.

It's just lyk they said. Losing a character in the game world is like losing a life in the Real World. Your bringing your conciousness from this side to the other. You pour your heart and soul into your player so that when you pick up the controller the person holding it isn't the person playing. Losing that part of you is devestating. It's like tearing out a part of you and erasing it from all existence. You feel empty. That was the problem with the comotose victims from the first games. They were quite literally in the world when they died of unusual circumstances. And therefore the body that was in this world collapsed due to the conciousness that was killed in the other. Now I suppose you could debate that by saying players that died didn't normally fall into a coma. But like I said, they died under unusual circumstance. So to believe that players can just pick up and go after a loss like the ones suffered in the fire is like telling the comatose victims that their just being overdramatic and they need to wake up.

Meh...that seems WAY too emotional, like in roots, Phyillo keeps on saying its just a game and everone agrees almost 90% so i dont think that most people cna get THAT attacched to their charecters
