Well what are the english translations of the words that overlap her? If we figure out what it means, then we can probably relate to the Epitaph snippet to her possible affiliation.

I know in past previews, the words have always been story-pertinent, but thrown in at any random interval regardless of which character was on screen at the time. But who knows...

Although, it doesn't look even remotely English, so I'll never know either way. :?

Darn this series, it's always making me curious about something or other! :x
"...that it causes a new twilight/dawn of the gods."

The sentence is the second half of a longer one.

I also heard another interesting thing... Remember how Aura's emails to Kite in the first four games were all funky and in typo. Ex. H3|p M3 But more advanced then that. Anyway look at the Word Eina and aura. The "a" at the end, and think how easily an "r" and "n" could be morphed around to look like something. Same goes with the "i", "u", "E", and "A". Eina herself may be our curropted or damaged aura that is in the world yet is not.

..... maybe  Eina is suppose to be a trigger that will cause the birth of a god.... Aura anyone?

Hmm, if the words really were placed there to match the girl, then she could possibly be some kind of  Aura reborn.

Thanks Tadashi! :D

I'm gonna have to agree with Kouen and Bulletcatcher. If the words were really placed there intentionally, then it seems all too probable. Then again, no one knows for sure, but this is one of the many reasons why I love pre-game speculation. :P

About Eina.
If you spell it in German, it could be a corruption of Einer, which is a counter for one as in "one among others" or for a single one.
An example:
"One Flew over the Cuckoos Nest" is "Einer flog über das Kuckucksnest" in German.

Well, that gives a meaning to the name. Thanks for that.

I made an edit.
It can also mean a single one. Don't take it as something as "The Chosen One" or something like it^^
But you still have to regard the fact that the developers are japanese and they aren't known for the best use of foreign languages, though the german in the .//hack Opening was perfect.

Well "one among others" there are a lot of Vagrant AIs, and  Eina is just one among all the Vagrant AIs.

It could have a different spelling, anything in any language that sounds like "eye-nah" is viable, but I went with a German-ish spelling because it looked cool... It could be Ina, or it might also be a corruption of "AIDA", though almost everyone hears Ovan saying an "n" sound, and it doesn't sound like the kind of line where he'd just be calling out "AIDA" for some reason... It could also just be Aina, look at how many things that can mean: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aina

Where did people hear of her. And who is she. I've read the legend of the twilight books as well as seen roots, lumanality and sign. I've never heard of this girl.

Something Ovan said in the Vol.3 trailer, see above.

She seems to be a new character, who we presume to be the one who  introduced Phyllo to Ovan. Her name was mentioned in a trailer, and a girl on a chair appeared on the Vol. 3 preview that seemed to match a girl from a flashback in //Roots.

So its just a name people put together. No one really knows anything about this?

The name was actually said in the preview, but we're not sure if it was her. In fact, we don't even know how it's spelled. It's presumably German, which is where Kuukai came up with "Eina". However, like Kuukai said, it could be anything, like "Aina", "Ina", and whatever else you can think of that sounds like it.

Well it's basically a name we came up with from what we think we heard from the video. I swear I heard AIDA instead <_<.

If the spelling is アイナ it's still phonetic identical to Einer ;)

The opening of .hack//Infection. A female voice recites some lines from the Epitaph in German.
