I can't seem to make a whole lot of sense of things with this trailer, but the one glaring thing I see is this:

Ovan, the Rebirth, one of the Eight Phases... Basically helps the [assumed] MC to be reborn after being Data Drained... A possibility is that this MC is actually trapped in The World from that point on... Yes, Ovan "Welcomes" the MC to The World, but just because it doesn't "sound" evil, does not mean that it isn't. Lest you all forget that Morganna also was very "welcoming" to Tsukasa at the beginning ogf SIGN.

The way I see it, it's a huge possibility that this main character will be more confused than Kite was, and undergo alot of manipulation, especially seeing how the Eight Phases are now Humanoid in appearance (to gain trust, perhaps?) Of course, if Ovan and co. are indeed going to manipulate the hell out of the possibly-trapped main character, it's another distinct possibility that they are in control of the screwed up Kite, and lead the main character to Hidden Forbidden Holy Ground specifically to have him DD'ed by the Kite remnant.

And thus ends Chrissii's speculation. Sorry if it's not worded properly, I have a terrible habit of going off on tangents, so if there are sentences that just don't make sense... well then

Agreed. I posted elsewhere that my theory may be wrong, and how it seemed as if it was a circle surrounding 1 or 2 people. I didn't bother to examine that too far. The MC started with 2 chainsaw like blades, and then when he put them away, he got this massive killer chainsaw blade. He also had some magic, with the trademark of "slowing" down time.

What I noticed was when the MC was at the chappel, the alter is once again barred, and this time quite literally. He had this flashback about this girl similar to Hotaru's avatar (sp?) The talked, and when she sat on the alter or somewhere in that place, she collapsed, and it gave hint of somebody with the "Kite" avatar doing it. That is the fact, without anything specified or hinted, though Kite's signature was green, red, and gold.

The trailer showed you several people, like that guy with the pink hair and purple shades, along with some others. Also at one point, the MC seemed to have been using a wicked sythe, but the frames arn't too clear.

What do we know that this game is connected with the others in that much depth, and how do we know what these 8 PC's are? Level 5 hackers simply arn't known for playing video games that often.

The original phases were programs and data collectors. Morganna corrupted them and such, but they were originally suppose to gather human data so Aura could be the perfect data anomally, both AI intelligence (lol) and human emotions.

Mia in a way is still a phase, and the only one that could experience the emotion "love." That was what she was programmed to do, except that Morganna seemed to like her/him/it more, or it could simply do more then the other phases in the beginning until the server reset happened.

I don't think the game is going to be like the show it will probably be like the video game where you don't communicate with people around the world instead you talk to virual people who don't exist in reality (an AI that only says what the computer programs it to say.)

right now, all we have is the trailer and the characters to go from... we can speculate all we want as to what we want from GU, however, it will probably be so far off the mark lol

I noticed somethings at the very end of the trailer:
Between the CCcorp. logo and the Bandai logo, a somewhat shadowed picture of Skeith's face was shown in the blue field, and then after the Bandai logo, it shows Skieth's whole body, with the exception that it is in Haseo's color scheme.

Taking into account that the three games are stand-alone stories, could this be how the first one ends?

Haseo's PC form dying, and transforming into the Terror of Death?

I noticed that the girl whom was in Hidden Forbidden Holy Ground with the MC (Haseo, or whomever), happened to be the new Mirage of Deceit, Atoli. Seems interesting.

What if these new charcters have all been data drained by the evil Kite and now because of this they can each change into one of the phases. Just an idea but I think it makes some sense.

Yeah, I had that pic. I still don't understand what it is, but each party may contain 3 members, and this guy on this game lags. However, I never guessed that it was Skieth. Wasn;t Skieth simply suppose to be some sort of data collector?

I think that the evil Kite was the first character created by CCorp for like as a beta character that had limitless power and therefore they used to check the game for bugs. I also think that it became viral and develpoed an AI like net slum characters and I think Aura made it possible for the actual Kite to get the Kite character so he would have enough power to stop Morganna and The Cursed Wave.

Hello guys, I'm completely new here, but I've been a rabid .Hack fan for some time now..and I must say, when I heard about UG today I flipped! I'm sooo excited about it!

Here are my speculations:

Haseo is probably in love with Atoli. From the trailer, as I can make out, Atoli looks a lot like that girl who was in Hidden Forbidden Holyground. When Haseo (I'm assuming the MC), comes in there, it looks like he's having a flash back. Also, I can't necessarily stop frames precisely or anything, but in one scene Haseo blushes and looks away, I think it kind of looks like Atoli is in that shot as well.

Therefore, it could be Haseo goes to the Holyground in the first place because of something Atoli did or said. As is seen, because of that, he gets DDed by personally-dubbed 'zombie Kite' (who really rocks, by the way). This could lead us to believe the 'Haseo is being manipulated' theory.

I'm with everyone in thinking that the zombie/evil kite could be corrupted remnants of Kite's data, but I still wonder about it. After //Unision, do we really know where Kite went? He's obviously not around in //Legend of the Twilight (Shugo is blech.). In //Unision, Kite also says something about how Aura specifically wanted him to keep/have the bracelet.

I think the weapon thing that Haseo has is simply a new weapon.

Sorry if I have any facts wrong. I haven't read Vol. 3 of //Legend of the Twilight yet...but I doubt it explains where the real Kite went to ^^;. Also, I didn't double-check my memory with anything, so yeah.

Would anyone happen to catch the picture in the trailer of the floating head that most likely is to resembles Cubia?

I think I noticed taking a close look at the picture for a split second that I could make the outline of Kite within it.

Any way, I also still believe it's most likely corrupted remnant data, but at the same time, one can never be fully sure until it comes out!

It might make for a better story if it were THE Kite...or a worse story. I have mixed feelings about if zombie Kite turns out to really be Kite, it might ruin his character in general, or it might work. Personally, Kite is my favorite character of any of the .hacks, and in this one case, he doesn't need angst from being turned evil ^_^;.

EDIT: and on a completely random and light-hearted note, what does everyone think the 'W' on zombie Kite's hat stand for? World? Wombat? Wumbo??
