Nice, not just a favorite couples topic, but an actual debate. Interesting.

I have a couple pairs that I openly 'ship. First off, Haseo x Shino; there's something about Shino being the older woman in the relationship that attracts me to this. After that, we have Ovan x Shino which is more canon than the previous pair.

I think G.U. was my first OMG SERIOUS fandom where I got so into it that I saw some freaky things. (Thank you, fans.) Haseo literally gets passed around to anyone and everyone. o_O
In general, I don't mess with people who like couples I don't. I have some issues when they push it as "lolol this is canon" though. One of those being Haseo x Alkaid. Granted, it makes more sense than some of the other Haseo pairings out there, but I still don't care for it. Alkaid's "love" did not develop convincingly enough, I'm sorry. It was way too sudden.

Other times, we get pairings that are just funny, such as Haseo x Bo. Makes me giggle every time.

I, myself, am a HUGE fan of the Atoli/Haseo/Shino triangle. I don't know exactly why, but just the idea of Haseo having his own little harem of crushes is awesome.

(I know I don't usually say this, but I really am. It's kinda scary. @_@ )

All pairings are insignificant to the one true pairing of .hack

How about some less talked about couples...

Alkaid/Tenrawr...Vol.2 was the most we ever saw of them together, but they have some chemistry. I do remember the "nothing shows love like calling the guy a telephone pole" but according to Alkaid, they loved to argue. I was thinking of a story that dated back to an Elk/Mia paralell...Endrance sees a connection between Alkaid and Tenrawr and wants to see it blossom...so he "hacks" Tenrawr's used PC and does a makeover so he's more like Mia in personality...his appearance is now more of a deer/canine hybrid with the same head only antlers and a bushy deer tail with a full coat of coarse deer fur. He wants to give Alkaid what he had with Mia...only Alkaid isn't so sure she wants to be "stuck" in the world with a shadow of the real Tenrawr. Insane from a corrupted Macha's wishes, Endrance pushes Alkaid to pursue the AI Tenrawr...but pushes back eventually. Gah, now I'm going on...anyway.

Silabus/Sophora-This could've been explored but unfortunately it wasn't. I think it needs to be since Nanase was interested in Silabus and Alkaid has no intent on Silabus at this point.

I didn't read Alcor, but I think I know where you're coming from with Silabus/Sophora. I, for one, prefer Silabus/Atoli, but it's pretty much set in stone that Atoli is with Haseo so that's not really possible unless you want to explore the common possibility of a harem. >.>

As for Sirius/Alkaid... I see that as more of a father/daughter or mentor/student relationship than a love relationship. You have to consider that Sirius is well into his 20s in real life and Alkaid is just a 16-year-old girl; though such an age difference is not impossible (it can happen with Haseo/Kaede or Haseo/Pi), I just don't see that as being a potential couple. Yes, they're very close and their bond might go as far as love, but I don't think it's romantic love. Just my two cents.

Doesn't help that they both (Silabus and Sophora) were almost completely ignored in volume 3. (CC2, THIS IS WHY YOU DON'T PUT SO MANY UNNECESSARY AND RETARDED CHARACTERS AND CHANGES IN A SHORT 3-GAME SERIES THAT CAN ONLY HAVE ~4 GB OF CONTENT PER DISC.)

Well, regaurdless, Looks like's CC2's sticking with the HaseoxAlkaid paring so far, unless they throw Atoli back
into the triangle and completely overshadow Alkaid.

Sad thing is, I actually liked Alkaid in Volume 1. She just went WTF in Volume 2, though. I can't see her as a character suddenly wanting to be friends with Haseo (and more than friends, as some of the cutscenes indicated). Which makes me really, really not want to read .hack//LINK, if they ditched Atoli...

Kind of reminds me of the situation in Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance/Radiant Dawn with Ike and Elincia. Almost undeniable in PoR, but completely nonexistent in RD.
