Rayne had nodded faintly in reply to the other man's question, hoping now that her hands wern't shaking as she felt they were. As Yuri, the knight before her, and her soon-to-be partner, said his speech, she remained completely still, though her mind was racing. This was so similar to what she had imagined it would have been when she was told about it, yet it felt so odd and unexpected. Not because of her possible partner, or what he said, but the whole atmosphere in a whole. Her nerves were easing slightly, and it was definally appreciated.

When he finished, it was her turn to speak. She would finish this with the reply of a few simple words. Inhaling softly, realizing she had been holding her breath unconsciouslly for the past few seconds, Rayne smiled lightly, a dull pink on her cheeks, and spoke in a soft, even tone.

"I accept your partnership, Yuri Barsett."

Letting out a sigh of relief that it was finalized, Rayne nodded once more for his first question to her, moving so she held her hands clasped loosely together at the small of her back. "My name is Rayne. Rayne Sarla Mea."

She bowed her head towards him and looked back up with a slightly wider smile. "And no, I don't mind at all, um, may I call you Yuri, or would you prefer me to call you something else?" Her cheeks darkened a little as she finished speaking, realizing the fact that she didn't even know how she was suppost to address her partner. So many people seemed to be shocked that I accepted him as a partner, but I felt the sincerity in his voice when he made his sware to me, and I feel I can trust him to withhold that promise..

Chance nodded curtly at Legalius's assessment of his current situation. "Yes sir." He responded to the suggestion that he formally meet the knight he would be training under. It was one of the two days a page dreamed of. Becoming a squire, a real squire, serving under a noble knight, and the other was of course becoming an actual knight. He quickly fetched the letter informing Yuri of Chance's placement under him, and slowly walked up to the knight. He nods his head to Rayne. "Lady Rayne Sarla Mea." He then presents the letter to Yuri. "Knight Yuri Barsett, I am Chance and I have been assigned to fulfill my squireship under your direction. I look forward to working with, and learning from, you." He agonized over the space in his sentence where his last name should have been. Why couldn't whoever left me there have left an actual name? It didn't even have to be theirs. Just a full name.

"I fully accept this partnership, Sirius Deneb." A woman with long blue hair spoke, chuckling as she looked at him. "Yet you're only ten, a young knight. Though this is a private army for children, I can understand the issue. Still...two of us together...against the higher power."

"We'll be strong. Even though I'm only a soldier now, we'll be partners when I become a knight. We'll be official partners!"

"I get it, you want me to go and attack some guy threatening you. Address." The man passed a paper. "Alright, have a good day. Give me my money tomorrow at the set up spot. I have all the details in my head." 'What a piece of crap that oath must be.'

"Understood Sir Barsett. And I'll bear that in mind Sir Legalius." Chance maintained enough distance between himself and the other two that he wouldn't intrude upon any conversation between them, but close enough that Yuri could call on him easily if need be.

"Ah, yes sir, I mean Yuri. Sorry." He quickened his pace until he was beside Yuri. He sure is different from what the drill instructors made knights out to be. He glanced over at Rayne. "Sir, sorry, Yuri what exactly is this partnership that you two have?"

When it seemed that the squire and Yuri were done speaking, Rayne bowed her head again. "It's very nice to meet both of you." Raising up a few seconds later, she looked back to Yuri and replied to his questions. "Rayne's fine, if that's what you want to call me, Yuri." She didn't bring up what he had mentioned as a condition again, however, because she didn't feel it nessicary to. Height meant nothing to her in what she thought of a person. Their heart and personality were all that affected how she saw someone.

Rayne released her hands from behind her back and slowly returned them to her side, which for her, showed that she was getting a little more comfortable with things as they now were. "Um, as for your second question, it doesn't matter to me. I'll go wherever it is the two of you decide."

Chance's question caught her attention, however, when she had lowered her gaze. Does he truely not know about this ceremony? I thought practically everyone knew about it by now..

Lucine closed her eyes, sighting a dead body in the distance. "They realize that this wood...is dangerous do they not? Yuri: allright then chance rayne I apologize in advance if my weapon scares you { he takes the cross out} NECROMANCER! { the skulls glows green and the chains unlock and the skull spins around the cross as it inites into a green flame and he grabs the flame and the cross grows to lize size and he stabs it into the ground} see freaky isnt it { he grabs the handle in the center} hey this is awesome its our first mission rayne lets kick some ass chance your with me rayne can you back us up with your hymns

"They're coming in this direction then..." Lucine looked at Saki-ta with a bit of a grimace. The creature nodded, though it was not a shadow beast. It was merely a beast who wanted to live stronger than some people did. She let the small cat like creature come to her hand and sit on her shoulder. "You're sure they're knights?" The creature made a strange sound. "I see, then we'll have to be careful."

Chance did as he was bidden and pulled his bastard sword off his back and held it at the ready. He had known Yuri used a strange weapon but this was a little ridiculous. No wonder nobody ever went to the trouble of trying to explain. He nodded grimly at Yuri's command. "Will do."
