Re: "Repth!"
I kind of have to say good job not great, haseo and that naruto guy sound the same to me, you would think it would be a little different.Sol wrote:It does sound a little odd to me when Haseo says "Repth," but overall I think Yuri does a really great job with all of his voice acting.

Some of the times, his voice was a little off the "term" (on the point of action), but in general, his voice is awesome.
And also, do you notice some other animes that in the moment of talk, you realize is his voice on the character. Like Sho Yamato on the program Idaten Jump, and other anime (look on wikipedia)

Really? I thought he changed his voice for it. I know that he voiced someone else, nd used a different one.haseoxth wrote:he uses his normal voice....thats how Yuri really sounds...just like Vic Mignoga.(Voice of Edward Elric. of Full Metal Alchemist)I found it kind of weird that Yuri uses the same voice with Sasuke and Haseo. It changes a little as the game progresses, but at the beggining, I could imagine haseo screaming "SHARINGAN!!!" or Sasuke shouting "SKEEEEEEITH!!!!!!"
Does Vic Mignoga really use his regular voice?

I thought they did a great job as well, till I heard the Japanese for gasbard, now his US voise sounds dumb.Ximenes wrote:Compared to the VAs from the first series, which I wasn't really fond of, the ones in Rebirth did a great job.
My only problem is that you couldn't switch the voices to Japanese like in the first games (at least, I think you could. Been a while since I've played them.)
you could pick US or Japan voises in IMOQ. I wish/wounder why we cant in GU?
Honestly, I don't know. It could have been a space issue, where they had the extra space to include it in IMOQ but not in GU. I've heard a few of the Japanese VAs from videos off different sites, but since I never learned to speak/read Japanese I'm stuck playing the US versions... that, and I'm too lazy to sit there with a Japanese-English dictionary and try to figure out whats being said. ^_^;;mastergods wrote:I thought they did a great job as well, till I heard the Japanese for gasbard, now his US voise sounds dumb.Ximenes wrote:Compared to the VAs from the first series, which I wasn't really fond of, the ones in Rebirth did a great job.

now that you played GU you should go back and watch them because you know what they are saying,Ximenes wrote:Honestly, I don't know. Thats iffy. From personal experience there is often a difference between what gets said in the original Japanese script versus the English version, even if its only minor. I have friends who speak Japanese pretty fluently so I know theres a big difference in sentence structure and since quite a few Japanese words can mean different things depending on how their said or used in a sentence its likely that the English translation is going to be off in some regards.mastergods wrote:now that you played GU you should go back and watch them because you know what they are saying,Ximenes wrote:Honestly, I don't know. I think you forgot that there every bit of dialogue comes with subtitles for both IMOQ and G.U., regardless of language.Honestly, I don't know. Actually, what I meant was that I don't want to get the Japanese version of the game and sit there with a translation dictionary since the subtitles would be in Japanese not English.Maaku wrote:I think you forgot that there every bit of dialogue comes with subtitles for both IMOQ and G.U., regardless of language.Honestly, I don't know.
