Zorlo smiled as he rested his hand on her back and smiled. "Okay, well, get your stuff together and let's get ready to go to the concert, madam," the green-haired man stated with a smile.

~~~
About an hour passed as the party slowly gathered everything up and started on their move towards the concert hall. The green-haired man was as dressed as he could be. As the group passed into the building and took their seats, the entire theatre slowly quieted down to a hum.
Zorlo took a deep breath and smiled. "Well, let us see how this goes," he stated, excited to hear the music that Maes was about to play.
~~~

In the back, a nervous looking old man shuddered as he walked around quietly and mumbled to himself. "Are you sure that the boy won't outplay me tonight?"

The woman filed her nails and blew on them as she looked at the man. "The deal you made with me is still in effect. I'll do what I can to prevent it, but these people can be better influenced by music than my powers. After all, I can only so control free will."

The old man pounded his foot in annoyance as he stared at the woman with horns and red-skin in a suit. "That can't be! I won't be outdone by a boy! I've been too important for too long! I will not see that end!" he yelled as he approached the demon-woman.

The horned woman smiled as her hand extended and grasped the man's neck. "Remember this, human, you sold your soul to me for what you have no. At any time, I can collect... however your music brings in hapless souls to my power to capture their souls. The moment that stops, you'll lose everything anyway, so its win-win for me!" the woman said as fear filled the man. "Such sweet fear. I can't wait to see how things go tonight."

Maes sat high up in the rafters above the stage rereading his sheet music one last time. He went through the motions with his hands while Morgan flipped through the pages with his tail at just the right times. Maes looked out over the concert hall, once the stage lights came on he wouldn't be able to see anyone in the audience, even knowing exactly where his friends would be. Are they my friends? He thought as he slid down the ladder. He was already on the ground when he realized what he was doing. A fgust of wind announced his landing as the force of the fall was redirected every which way but up through Maes himself. Guess its a good thing I haven't put on the other jacket yet. "The tux! Maybe Claire left it in the changing room." He hurried back to the room. "In the worst case we just go out as is." Murmured the cat lax as only a feline can be. That smell... well, whatever it is probably won't try anything openly and if it does, I'll just eat it. No sense worrying Maes over it.

Claire watched Cecile in the rearview mirror for several seconds. "For the time being, I am your driver, hence the ma'am, ma'am." Claire swung by a florist and picked up a dozen roses. "Normally reserved for a female performer, I know. But I think Maes will appreciate them." She stated and handed the bouquet to Cecile.

"I hope he likes them." She held the roses gently in her arms. "He should be amazing, if his previous performance tells anything." She remembered being in a few concerts herself when she was in school. She leaned back in the seat as she took in their scent. Personally, Roses were one of the most common flowers. Still, she understood that they were special flowers.

"It's a lack of courage that's held him back before. You all gave him that." Claire said as she opened Cecile's door once they arrived. "I trust you can find your way from here. Enjoy the show ma'am. I'll be waiting by the fire exit nearest your box if you have need of me before the end of the concert." Claire drove off leaving Cecile to navigate her way to the seats on her own.

No, Claire had not left a tux for him in the room. Well, its my first performance might as well establish a signature look. Right? Maes looked at himself in the mirror. Signature was right. He took a deep breath pat Morgan and joined the other performers with Morgan faithfully at his heel

It was stressful. Zorlo honestly had never sat quietly like this before. He felt odd in the rent-a-tux he was wearing and the oddness of how... intense... everything there was. Everyone was a bit quiet, but that was because they were waiting. The waiting was the worst part. He knew the music would be good... but the unpleasant silence... that was annoying as hell...

((Sorry for the tardiness! So many games from the holidays & school work ate away my life for a while.))

Though it wasn't the answer that she was looking for, Arianna nodded in acceptance of what Tamlin had said to her and turned to catch up with her sister. She'd make a note to go question Zorlo later as, for now, they didn't have much time to get ready...

Though a little late, the sisters had managed to make it on time to get to their seats before the show started. They were both a little surprised to find that their seats were in one the boxes rather then the common floor. It was a reminder that Maes was someone whose family had money, and probably a lot if Claire was any indication. So it was just as good that they'd planned to look their best. Arianna was wearing a high-necked dress to cover most of her scars and a matching, decorative eyepatch over her ruined eye. Allrainne was, however, wearing what looked to be a business suit with pants rather then a skirt.
While Arianna took to her seat with excitement for the events and music to come, Allrainne was a bit more sedate as she looked around at the other boxes. Zorlo, in the nearest box, was as easy to find as a tower in the desert. She thought she saw Cecile, though she wasn't sure from this distance and couldn't find Elsa or Claire, but simply shrugged as she took her sit to wait. It was their choice to come on or and not really her business.

Maes took his seat at the piano, paying the whispers of the various people surprised by his dress no attention. He smiled up at the box where everyone was sitting, and then turned to his instrument and the cat lounging across it's top.All of the performers were talented, and most had more experience than Maes, but he had something far greater and deeper set than the rest. Passion. A passion possessed of all of the emotions he had experienced in the past two days. Fear to be sure, wrath too, but also great courage, hope, and happiness.

At the end of the performance, when everybody had closed their sheet music and were about to stand Maes played one final piece. It didn't sound exactly the same, he wasn't using the baton to mimic an entire orchestra this time, but it was the song Cecile had sung with him the day before. When it reached a point in the song where the piano paused several of the other musicians had been drawn in and/or knew the song and joined in for the impromptu performance and though they did not make up the full company normally needed for a space that size a little unconscious use of magic made sure it reached every ear and heart present.

Zorlo watched quietly and listened to the music and the boy's behavior. He was more confident and ready than before. The music... and this last song... it touched Zorlo's heart for some reason. It felt... different than the others... The green-haired man looked at Elsa for a moment before flushing slightly and looking back towards the stage. She was there... he was there... but were they there... together? Had she come along with him... like a date... or was it... had she just come along-side him for convenience. The knight's head spun... he wasn't sure what to say or think. Perhaps... he'd ask her when the night was over and they had thrown a party for Maes.

Cecile seemed to be quiet as she sat there, her hands in her lap. Listening to Maes play did really remind her of the past in a way. She had been somewhat proud of the ability to sing. Of course, the fact it was a symbol that somehow... somehow they had connected despite her willingness to separate made her feel a bit guilty. Her cynicism never really made things better, but letting go had become so much of her life that lifelong connections had been a bit hard. She would have to probably transport the roses back before any decisions were made regarding living arrangements. At this point, it would probably be best she did her own.

----

Elsa seemed to finally mentally relax, looking a bit more of herself for the first time in a long time. Certainly there were going to be a lot of issues, but the idea of being able to be in a state where it didn't matter was a god send. She moved her hand towards her hair, adjusting a stray strand. "It won't be this quiet for a long time, will it?" She asked, her eyes closing a little.

"No," Zorlo responded monotonely. "Sadly... all that remains after this is the gateway of battle... the storm of the fury of everyone... angels, gods, devils and fallen angels... not to mention other humans like us... DM has made enemies out of everyone for us... I just wish you didn't wind up being dragged into it... but if you hadn't, I wouldn't have met you... and I'd probably be dead right now. Ironic, right?" Zorlo asked as he smiled at her. The end of the ensemble was nearing and Zorlo could feel the waves of emotion in the song growing. "We should get ready... for some reason... that this peace will end soon... You can still run if you want to..."

"Running now would be counter productive." Elsa spoke, looking slightly confused on his wording. "I wouldn't have come with you if I had planned to run away the moment the real fight started." She looked at him with a raised eyebrow. "Why are you saying so many words for something so simple?" She knew he wanted to say something important, but what did he really want to say?

"I guess you're right..." Zorlo said as he looked at Elsa before flushing and taking a deep breath. "Anyway, if that's what you've decided, I was wondering if you would like to live with me... I mean, it isn't like your or I can return to our apartments... or go back to work... so I figure that, at least until you figure out what you want to do, you can live in my apartment... I'll be working off my bill, and you can be close enough to help everyone should the need arise... so what do you say?" he asked her, turning crimson as he continued talking.

~~

Elsewhere, as the music reached its peak, the dried husk of an old man hit the floor. The sound was completely overshadowed by the music in the background and the Succubus smiled. "WEll, things are exciting again. For now, I'll return and speak to the higher ups. Better to not dirty my own hands... especially not while I'm holding onto that old crone's soul. Farewell," she stated as her body burst into flames before vanishing.

"It'll be safer than being separated," She spoke, trying to calm her mind regarding what that meant. It meant being able to live with a guy and trusting he wouldn't do anything. He hadn't done anything when she had fallen asleep against him, so perhaps it was possible to live with a guy like Zorlo. She knew that it made her feel a bit uncomfortable at the thought of trying to explain it to her parents. "As long as we can both avoid being in too awkward situations."

"If you want, Elsa, you can live there and I'll live in the common room or something?" he asked her, smiling. "After all, I wouldn't want to make your life too complicated," he told her, flushing as he scratched his cheek. "I mean... I don't want to make your life odd or whatever... and... and..." Zorlo paused as he took a deep breath. "I've just dropped the ball on this one... I mean... I like being around you and I want it to continue and..." Zorlo paused as he stopped talking. "Uh... forget I said anything."

Maes and the other performers bowed, and when they were all safely behind the curtains many of the other musicians patted Maes and gave him various compliments, or they would have, if he and Morgan had not immediately disappeared into his dressing room to escape any crowds or anybody really and just focused on breathing. "We-we did it. We actually did it. You think the others enjoyed it?" "Yeah, I'm sure they did." Maes phone rang. "Maes, that was beautiful." "..." "Cecile knows where I'm parked so just come find me when you're done hanging out." Claire hung up and Maes just sat there staring at the phone. It still seemed kind of surreal, more so than all of the magic he had been doing.

((Sorry! Meant to post earlier, but I've been busy and distracted.))

As the applause began, Arianna clapped thunderously as the curtain fell, moved almost to tears from the performance as she stood up. Allrainne clapped as well, a pleasant smile on her face from the performance. Even though she wasn't much of a music person, even she had to admit that it was a truly great performance. "A supremely great performance, Maes," she said to herself as Arianna looked back at her, her thoughts clearly reflected in her eye. "You want to find Maes, don't you?"

The scarred-girl nodded. "I want to congratulate him on his performance. That was breath-taking," she replied, making Allrainne chuckle. "Can we go find him?"

"Yeah, sure. After all, I'm sure everyone else is wanting to do similar things anyway," Allrainne replied as the two headed to see if they could find him.

Standing up, Elsa took a moment to figure out the answer. "If you promise that you won't take advantage of me, I'll stay there." Her face was a slightly similar crimson. "This is just so crazy." Her voice was soft as she answered, her eyes closing to try and imagine something good happening rather than what she feared could happen.

Cecile took a moment to gather her wits as she saw the performers look at her with a confused expression. She knew that by no means did she look at all like someone who would associate with them. Then again, neither did many of the people she had worked with. She approached the dressing room door with the roses in hand. Lifting one hand, she knocked on the door lightly.

Zorlo stood up and cracked his neck as he smiled at Elsa. "I promise I shan't take advantage of you. After all, I haven't ever... well, that's neither here nor there," Zorlo stated as he watched people slowly clear out. "Mayhap it is time to go and look into Maes and everyone... make sure they're okay," Zorlo stated as he nodded. "YEs, yes, let's go."

Maes about jumped when the knock came at the door, he approached it hesitantly and creaked the door open slowly. "Cecile." He smiled as he spoke and stepped back into the room, leaving the door open for her. "Um uh..." He mumbled as he looked at her. Maes had been speechless before, it was pretty much his state of being for a long time, but this was somehow different.

Well, this is promising. She came by herself and smells like she brought roses. Hahahaha. Morgan thought to himself as he rolled over on the counter.

"Claire bought these for you." Cecile spoke, a little uncomfortable, but calm in front of him. "I wanted to tell you how well you did. You really shine well when you put your mind to it." She walked forward with the roses and placed them down slowly. She didn't know what else to really say at this point after all of the events that happened.
