"This one?" Rayne asked as she lifted the book from the table. She glanced down at the cover and began speaking again, her tone turned slightly curious at his question. "It's titled, '[Songs] of the [Trio],' which is what kind of brought the question I asked Yuri to mind, since this is filled with...well, incredibly difficult to comprehend [Songs] that only the [Goddesses] themselves could manage to preform."

After a moment of sitting in silence, she wondered to herself if either of them even really knew that much about the [Goddesses], and if so, how much they knew about them. She decided not to ask, however, and see what Chance had to say instead, figuring that if they wanted to know, they'd probably just ask her anyway.

"Trio? Are there three Reyvetail goddesses or something?" He asked, and he angled his paper towards Rayne. The following he had written on it lightly. 'That call Yuri got, was that hymnos I heard coming through?' There really were notes on there as well. He had sketched out the symbols on the cover of the book and beneath them the title Rayne had given. And with bullet points below that he had put "-complex spells" and "-Goddesses".

Yuri: ahh who needs to read about this stuff and lets get off the topic of the phone call k and letsplay some cards and after words lets go train somewhere all 3 of us it wont hurt to train or what ever besides I wanna show you 2 some place special its where I trained with my master

Having quickly caught onto Chance's slight movement, Rayne nodded softly, as if accompanying her answer. "Yes. Goddess Tyria, Goddess Eoria, and Goddess Frelia. They were the first three Reyvateils ever created. Hence their other nickname, of sorts, the [Origins]."

It seemed Yuri had caught on to the little charade, so she let the topic fall away by adding, "I can tell you more about them later on if you'd like, Chance. For now, watching you two play cards seems fun. I'm not very good at card games, however, so I'll just watch." With that said, she layed the book back down off to her side, slipping the note Kyrie had given her earlier into a small pocket on the side of her dress afterword.

Chance was surprised that Yuri had caught him. I guess that training he's having me do can make you sensitive enough to know what other people are writing. But he was more put out that Rayne was cutting the lesson off. He finished his notes and erased the question. Spotting an empty folder he put the paper in it and then slid the folder in the crack between the bookcase and the wall. Chance sat down next to Yuri and asked, "So, what game of chance are we playing?"

Yuri: hmm welll thats up to you we can play poker rich man poor man or any of those other games * heh I never lose in a card game} winning is everything if I lose I'm dead { he gives a malicious smile} * jeez its thanks to master I became this card shark freak ohh man*

"If you lose you die? I'm not sure I want to play anymore. I'd hate to be the cause of my master's death after only one day." With a smirk he took the deck from Yuri and began shuffling, rapidly. "Poker sounds good, just one thing real quick." He deals a card to Yuri and one to himself. "High card wins and deals the first hand. Let's see who lady luck favors today."

Yuri: { he uses sleight of hand with out anyone noticing he replaces the card that beaux dealed with his own} I'll tell you this my master was a huge horses ass and he dumped all of his debts on me when he couldnt pay them off so I was taught to survive by gambling I never lose when it comes to a card game

"There are only three ways to consistently win at gambling Yuri, and I know all of them. Being very good at reading people, cheating, and being lucky. I'm most proficient with the last, followed by the first, but I suspect, if you never lose at any card game, you excel at the second. Am I right?" He flips over his card, the Queen of Hearts.

Yuri: what me cheat do I realy look like somepne who would cheat even his own apprenrtice at a mere card game { he flips over his card} king of hearts I win wanna go again it allwats feels good to win at a card game looks like luck doesnt like you very much today chance otherwise you could of won it was only by one card

Beaux just smiled and held up his card. "On the contrary, master, I have lady luck on my side all you've got is a high card." He puts the queen back in the deck and reshuffled it. He noted something very peculiar before he slid it towards Yuri. "And honestly, Yuri, yes you do look like someone who would cheat like I said earlier, there are only three ways to consistently win. And only one of those would allow you to always win, and that's because you control all of the variables." Funny thing is I know for a fact that the king of hearts is still in the deck. I know I saw it while I was reshuffling which begs the question, when did he switch the cards? He tried to enhance his senses as Yuri had taught him earlier, not sure whether he succeeded or not he made sure not to concentrate on any one thing and waited to see if he could see Yuri switch the cards again.

Yuri: hmmm he thinks he can catch me huh well he can try if he wants* { he goes to pick his card and after he does so with out any one noticing a card falls out of his sleeve and lands perfectly on top of the deck and and he lays it face down on the table} * heh I can do more then give my self good cards hes pretty smart but I'm not just the knight Yuri barsett I''m the ultimate card shark* I'll tell you this if you really think it is that I'm cheating I have n need to cheat I'm just good at playing cards I'll tell you a little story my master took out so many loans and debts that when ever the loan sharks and stuff came by I allways had to repay the debts by playing cards in other words if I lost I was dead so I dont really need to cheat to win but you are a pretty smart guy figuring all that stuff out

Rayne had been watching them intently from her chair, and had seen the now two instances in which Yuri had slipped a different card from his sleeve. She sat in silence, however, wondering if Chance would happen to catch him before the game was over. I bet if Chance could watch things from my angle, he'd notice it. Yuri's swift with his movements, though. Allowing a card to fall from his sleeve is how many of the other knights back at the hall tried to cheat as well, but none of them were as smooth with it as Yuri is...Practice makes perfect, I suppose, and he did just say he had to rely on winning to help his master out..

Yuri: { he slowly moves his eyes to look at rayne and then he looks back at chance} * hmmm maybe she noticed that was one of my lesser tricks tricks nut I dont want to over do it so that should be fine besides even if he did notice I have a back plan anyway it shouldnt be that big a deal* your draw chance

Chance had heard the card as it landed, but made no reaction to indicate this. "Of course, Yuri, I can appreciate that. I got forced into my own share of card games, hence why I know that I'm supposed to cut the deck now." He slid a little less than the top half of the deck of towards Yuri. "I'm sure you won't mind if I just go ahead and draw, since you told me to already. He pulled his cards off the deck carefully. "Oh, before we go any further I'm sure you'd like to remove your coat, Yuri, its quite a warm day after all."

Yuri: sure why no it is getting a litte hot in here its good to see the apprentice worry about his master * called my bluff huh hes pretty good too bad he didnt think through all the possibilities* thanks for worrying if you still think I'm cheating then here I have a short sleeve shirt on I cant pull any cards out from there so now are you convinced I'm just lucky if not then well I just dont know how to convince you

"Of course I worry. Keeping you alive is part of my job, and I wasn't worried about you pulling cards from your sleeve that's a rookie thing. When you start pulling out the good tricks, I'll be impressed."

Yuri: yeah yeah your right the pulling cards from out my sleeve is really bad its too easy and too predictile nah its no funny unless you dont really know how to cheat soo with that being said just draw your card allready we dont have all day you know so hurry it up lets goo

Yuri: allright then you want I flipped mine over first last time so its only fair if you flip yours over first * it doesnt matter if he cheated or not I hold all the cards in this game coat or not you cant win against someone who played cards to live but I'll admit hes pretty good *
