That's why your an unemployed grim reaper!!! You choose a sword or lance over your scythe!!!unemployedgrimreaper wrote:Edge Punisher or Lord Partizan.
On a relivant note: (No offence to anyone who chose it) But does a magic using Multiweapon sound strange to you?
example: Shadow Warlock and Blade Brandier
It's just hard to imagine

I don't think a magic-using Multiweapon would be strange. It would be pretty useful to be able to fight with a weapon and use magic.
Multi-Weapon (Ho-Hum)
That was probably gonna get the most points. But seriously, I'm a weapon freak. I'd love to be able to wield all sorts of weapons. It'd be cool if you could wield different weapons, but unable to unlock the true potential of the weapon (like a Multi-Weapon, but more handicapped).
Well, my weapon choices are probably really cliche, too (No offense)...
Twin Blade - Ever since Kite, I loved the Twin Blade style.
Blade Brandier - I've always loved the sword, and even have a practice one of wood (I made it... looks like a Sakabatou). I practice a lot, even though I know nothing, really...
Flick Reaper - Ehh... I'd just really like to use every single point available. I kinda liked spears after playing Castlevania: Curse of Darkness (Versatile Spear and Chauve-Soris). And scythes are pretty spiffy...
If anything else, It's a tie between Twin Blade and Blade Brandier. Twin Blades seem a little more "flashy", so maybe I'd choose Twin Blade.

Multi-weapon. It's not selling out! ><
Definitely Multiweapon. I'd rather take three classes then just one. It's not like I've got a problem with commitment or anything... >>
Adept Rogue/Multiweapon
-Edge Punisher: I like heavy weapons, and it guarantees a lot of attack power.
-Tribal Grappler: I enjoy hand-to-hand and the promise of speed.
-Blade Brandier: Katanas are always cool, and with it comes balance.

I really can't say what class I'd pick without knowing how the Multi-Weapon class is supposed to work.
People talk about being somehow limited in your actual ability with the weapons you chose, as opposed to someone who specialized in just one style (meaning any other class really). On the one hand, this is true, but mostly by virtue of you have to work twice as much to be an expert at two weapons, than to just be an expert at one. So if you've got two weapons, and you're frequently switching between them, probably your skill level in either will be mediocre at best.
However - if Rebirth is any indication, you can continue to improve your weapon skill after you hit the level cap, so if you keep at it for a while after you hit the maximum level, you turn out to be both powerful and flexible.
The major disadvantage I see to the multi-weapon is, the class extension event happens infrequently at best, and is only available for a week at a time, if I remember the e-mail in Rebirth correctly. I don't play any of the popular MMORPG's that are around now, but talking to some friends of mine, most players seem to be of a mindset that can't stand anything less than super-fast progress, meaning going from just-installed-the-game to max level with uber equipment in the space of about a month, two months on the outside. Players like that would probably hit the level cap before they see their first job extension event. Personally, I prefer a more lengthy progression for an RPG. If I can whip out my first 10 levels in an hour, then gaining a level isn't particularly special, or really anything to brag about. If it takes me a week to get a level, then it becomes a noteworthy event. It's just tricky to strike the right balance between making the game last, and making people feel like they are still making progress.
Ranting aside, I'd want to know how frequently the job extension event is available, if there are abilities that the single weapon classes get that the multi just can't get ever, and whether the caster classes are available as options. It's also worth noting that, in the various anime, it seems players in The World only get one character, unlike most other MMORPG's. With access to more than one character, I might not particularly need a multi-weapon, just swapping characters to fill in whatever gap a prospective party needs filled.
If possible, I'd probably go with Harvest Cleric, Shadow Warlock, Danse Macabre (which the in-game description indicated as being good at the status effect spells, if I remember right) as a multi-weapon. This is partly because I'm kinda used to a lot of older single-player RPG's, where there really is only one caster class (much like the Wavemaster class), or a non-class setup where you get to be proficient at weapons and spells. With only one caster class in those sorts of games, it's usually possible to have your character learn all the spells in the game, and I just like being able to do that.
I suspect though, that the caster types aren't available for multi-weapon. Mostly, I base this on the fact that, in Rebirth, you use the heavy armor types, as Haseo. Silabus uses the medium armor types, and while a twin blade isn't available as a party member for Rebirth, I would expect a twin-sword to use the medium armors as well. This tells me that the armor type, and likely the HP/SP scale are the same for all multi-weapons, and aren't influenced by your weapon choices. Thus, being able to choose Warlock as a first pick in multi-weapon would give you a spell slinger with heavy enough armor to hold up well in a toe-to-toe (although you wouldn't have enough SP to cast much until you got 20 or so levels).
If the casters aren't available as multi-weapon picks, I'd probably go with Harvest Cleric, or Shadow Warlock. Probably both if players were allowed to have multiple characters. And a Blade Brandier if I had a third character slot. ;p

Just think of Subaru or Terajima Ryoko! For Heavy Axe at least. For Partizan...I'm not sure...unless you count Kaochin, who apparently has gone on to become a Chaotic PK in R2, but I can't remember which volume she even shows up in...Azure Knight wrote:Piros killed that class for mePartizan, too...
