She took a seat on a bench against the house overlooking the garden as soon as they stepped outside, glad that he was being exactly what she needed: concerned. Bianca sat in silence for a few seconds, trying to piece together exactly what she wanted to say as he joined her. Being so familiar with him made her want to just let it all out, perhaps cry a little, and just feel better, but something kept her from doing it. At least for now.

"Not really," she finally admitted, laying her head back against the house. "I think I really messed up today, Edgar... I mean, really messed up. I told him most of the story, but now I'm worried for multiple different reasons..."

After letting out a breath that she hadn't realized that she had been holding, Bianca told him the entire story. Everything from standing guard as she did every single day to being taken away from the ruins by Soma, to letting him go and returning home. She hoped he wouldn't call her insane for letting the Light Devouring Beast go freely, or worse yet, run out and admit what she had done to her father or the other knights. She trusted him completely as a child, and that was the only reason she had found herself capable of telling him what had happened, but it had been eight years since they had last seen one another. For all she knew, she couldn't trust him as she once could, and that thought horrified her.

When she had gotten everything out in the open, her eyes never once falling close to his own, she pulled her hands from her hair, leaving another, tighter braid left unwinding. "I really messed up, didn't I?..." she asked in almost a whisper.

Edgar: ( he put his hand on her had as he lets her rest her head on his shoulder) homestly people would say you messed up no doubt maybe it may seem like that but honestly I believe you did the right thing Bianca dot beat yourself up over doing the right thing you trusted your instincts and I completely trust your decision and personally believe you did the right thing ( he looks away in case she might not like him as much because he trusts the " beast" )

"Your body will become as mine is. A ranger swears fealty to no man nor any woman. You may not have family beyond the elements and us. And you shall only rest so that you may better rid the world of the unnatural plague that is the Aesir infestation. There are numerous other things as well, but I think those are the most important ones for you to know." Ember sighed as she leaned heavily against a tree, a shiver ran through her. "Hale, if I am honest. I am afraid. I am afraid that I am meant to be the last of my kind. I do not know why but your kind chose to discard us and go to war with Valhalla yourselves. The rangers may no longer be needed, and if that's true then I don't know what I'm supposed to do with my life."

Edgar's answer shocked Bianca into a momentary silence. She was still fighting off the urge to cry, but his reply had somehow soothed her nerves and made the urge lessen in intensity. Her mind scrambled worse that it had earlier, buzzing with a variety of thoughts all branching out from one central question. "He really thinks I did the right thing? How? Everyone knows the tales of the 'Beast', but could he know more because of his traveling?.... Is there even more to know?"

"You... You really think I did the right thing? But why?" she finally replied, turning so she looked him dead in the eyes. She searched for some hint of an answer in his eyes, but found no immediate answer. She would have to wait on his actual reply.

Edgar: sigh ( he looks at her in the eyes) honestly you wouldn't believe me even of I told you but trust me I'm 100 percent sure you did the right thing when have your into cuts ever steered you wrong before bianca? But if you really want to know my answer I guess it has to do with stories my mother used to tell me when I was a boy...my mother used to tell me stories but not of a beast but of a hero who was willing to betray his own brothers and give up his family in order to protect the ones he loved truely the most and the world he lived in...( he looks at her) sorry I know weird right itd you you wouldn't believe me

"So you had heard other stories..." she whispered out loud before she realized it. She looked away slightly and couldn't help but smile a little. "I mean, your mother always knew things that no one else did. She 'saw' further than anyone else in the town did and knew she was right about it... So maybe I did do the right thing..." She sighed softly and a small laugh overtook her before she could stop it. When she had quieted, wiping the corner of her eyes with the back of her hands, she looked back to Edgar to explain her strange behavior.

"You have no idea how awful I've felt ever since this morning. Not only do you surprise me by coming home and visiting, but you managed to make me quit worrying when I was sure this would eat at me for weeks on end. You're the only person whose ever been able to do that, and I am so thankful that you chose today to come home, Edgar."

((Work's been kicking my ass, sorry guys.))

"I'm sorry that it had to be this way brother!" Dimitri played his flute, playing a tune that was spazzy and erratic. The tune was a teleportation spell, and it launched them into the forest. "You're too young to understand brother! Too naive! Valhalla is the ultimate utopia! The ultimate salvation of humankind! This planet is ridden with plague, Aesir creatures, murderous and traitorous felons!" He played his flute, this tune was somber and slow, and Soma knew it well, it was an illusionary spell he played, one that if he had captured Soma in, could spell his doom.

Hale laughed and hugged Ember, “Don't know what to do with your life? That's easy!” He took a step back as to not be attacked, “Just live! Do what you feel is right, no matter what anyone says. If you don't want to be a ranger anymore, or you still dig protecting everyone from the Aesir is up to you. If you live life thinking there's something that you have to do all the time, you'll get lost all the time. IN mean look at me! I wanted to be a knight like pop was. But you're a ranger, and though you're the only one I've seen, you're really awesome, and you do like the knights do. You fight to protect, not any crap like to follow the king's orders and what not.” He shrugged, “Or at least, that's my view on it. Take it or leave it. Also, I'll be come a ranger if that's good with you? That way you won't be alone. There's a whole heap of knights. Rangers could use more numbers.”

((Work'll do that sometimes, it's fine.))
Ember just stared at Hale, making no effort to attack him nor resist the embrace. "You are not what I expected to encounter." She inclined her head and muttered, "Luca." Ember knelt to the ground in front of Hale and then gestured for him to do likewise. "Ultimately, the decision is not mine, nor is it wholly yours, you must meet with Nok and if he accepts you. You will then become like me and I will begin your training. There is a very real chance that you will die trying to meet with him as well. Are you absolutely certain that you want to do this?"

Soma: ( he feels faint at first as he's originally falls victim to the illusion ).. Nggh no way dimitri...your wrong you won't purify the world you'll destroy it.. I can't let you do this ( he shakes it off as his alpha stigma provides him a little resistance to dimitris illusion though it wouldn't last him for long due to the battle earlier as he readies his blade as a second blade of magic forms in his hands as he rushes dimitri) what I seek is thunder Izujin! ( he launches a bolt of lightin towards dimitri) I offer up this contract to bare the wicked spirit beast that sleeps within the earth! ( he begins to move much faster as his legs gets covered in a green magic light and he begins clashing with dintris field as he continues my dodges attacks as the two begin their second battle as the light wears off soma leaps back as he readies his two blades) Damn I'm still not fully recovered from earlier...I doubt I can last much longe against dimitri alone

-----

Mercenary: ( he looks around)...*sigh* allready bailing you out of trouble ( he traces a magic circle I the air) the teleportation path is probablly still around here of I can trace it I can't get to where they are...sigh so many detours

Hale knelt down as instructed, and nodded, “Nok is mother Earth right? Oh wait, I speak by placing a rock near my ear when I sleep right?” Hale asked, trying to remember Ember's exact words from earlier. “No wait, that was to talk to pop.” Hale tried to remember if Ember instructed him on how to speak to any of the elements.

Dimitri's calm demeanor hid his fatigue, and he would never let Soma know Dimitri was just as tired as he. Dimitri's bubble-like shield shattered after Soma's onslaught and Dimitri knew he didn't have the resources to keep it up. Similarly, he couldn't muster up the magic for his perfected supersonic attack. It was nearly inescapable and was solely capable of killing. “It seems as though you haven't lost your shine brother! But over the years I've gotten better! And it will be I who puts a stop to all your foolish brashness!” Dimitri cried out readying another spellsong. It was a rapid tune the seemed knew to Soma.

That's twice, the third must be to Nok. Ember slapped Hale, hard, with her metal gauntlet, drawing blood with her suddenly taloned fingertips. She growled out, "Nok is father." Ember's armor turned to liquid and pooled at her feet before reforming behind her as she removed her cloak, sword, and finally mask. "You cannot simply speak to Nok, you must meet him." She held the round mithral shield in her hand and raised it in front of her face, "Normally you would be sealed in a cavern and forced to find him on your own, but given the situation I will take you there. Nok." Ember stated as she raised the shield over her head, placed her other hand on the back of Hale's neck, placed her forehead to his, and slammed the shield to the ground.

The landscape rushed past them, dirt and stone of all colors passed them by until they came to a stop inside of an enormous diamond. The pressure was immeasurable, crushing, solid, and as Hale tried to breathe the stone filled his lungs yet he did not suffocate though it felt like it and it was impossible not to feel panicked. Ember seemed unphased though and she moved through the gemstone as if it were water, distorting the stone as around her and fracturing her image into thousands of tiny images. She turned towards Hale's left, bowed, and stepped back into an enormous white opal stating, "Serah Darklight, Luca Nok Hale Highwind." before she completely disappeared from view. Nok, all of the elementals, looked different to everyone, for Ember he was an enormous dragon with a crown of golden horns and covered in scales of gemstones. But she had no way of knowing what Hale would see, some people saw a regal man armed with a hammer, another a giant ogre carrying a pillar that looked to have been ripped straight out of a great cathedral, she had heard another ranger describe him as some sort of badgermole thing the size of a cart, and keeper said that he had been a gnome no taller than her knee, but in every instance he was reported as bearing some form of crown.

As Nok came into view, however Hale saw him, he spoke in a voice that echoed from everywhere, "Serah Darklight seems to believe that you have some value and desires that I allow you to serve Nok as she does. Do you have the desire and the will to stand and declare your worth or should I just crush you where you kneel, supplicant?"

'Father Nok, don't forget that again, Father Nok...' Hale thought, taking the hit Ember landed on his face.

Hale was kneeling and holding his chest, breathing seemed harder than ever, he imagined that this was what being in a sandstorm was like. His face no longer hurt, and he couldn't tell if he was bleeding ot not. He looked up hearing the omnipresent voice of the Gigas-like creature in front of him. His horns surrounded his head in a sort of crown-like fashion. “Of course I want to serve you!” He struggled to stand, and faced Nok, dropping his sword. “So long as I don't have to do anything stupid like killing a child or harming an innocent bystander.” His head was filled with images of Nok crushing him with his massive arms, or perhaps he'd just let Hale suffocate, this distressed him greatly, and he couldn't hide it. Hale's legs trembled, but his eyes stayed connected to Nok's.

Soma:...?! ( he gets thrown back by dimitri's song as he's struck by the magic) gah! ( he flies back as his mana blade vanishes) that's a new trick...I guess 12 years does a lot for a sage like yourself( he sheaths his regalia blade and gauntlets of magic form on his arms as he takes a fighting stance and he runs at dimitri as his eyes begin to hurt) damn! I'm almost put of time!

Carson: found you! ( he teleports as he lands Close to their location) this battles big

Dimtri was panting, his breath running short, he was able to deflect Soma, but how many more times? He took a deep breath and played the same tune once more, sending Soma back again. “Of course 12 years would put me at an advantage brother!” He played another song to boost his own body to near herculean strength, however his magic was running slim, only one or two songs would be possible. Even then they would be low level songs. Dimitri charged at Soma, he would meet Soma's strength with his own magically-attained strength.

( the two of their fiat collide causing a resonance of the two colliding magics as both pull their fosts away they begin exchanging blows from each others fists)

Soma: so you learned how to buff your own abilities! Gah! ( he gets punched in the gut and nearly collapses from domotros strength as he returns the favor with a uppercut infused with magic and the process between the two Continues) in ending this right now brother! ( as somas gaitlets vanish from lack of magic he nails dimitri with a straight right in the face as soma as well receives a similiar hit)

Carson: allright children ( a earth wall divides the two breaking up their brawl as he lands on top of it) that's enough now the forest is a peaceful place brothers shouldn't be fighting in a peaceful place of all these places..( he glances at soma) it's clear your both running on empty theirs just no point to continue this battle ( he looks towards dimitri) you should cut your losses and call it quits for now neither of you have the energy to continue and especially don't have the energy to take me on as well..( Carson's tone sounded like he was joking by his eyes were serious)

Yuuno noticed the problem first as the first report came to one of the grand mages. "Is there something else wrong?" He asked the person reading over the document carefully. There was a tense, almost strange atmosphere around the magic user.

"Fairchild, it seems that the seal holding Kalia is at it's limit. If it is not calmed down, an Aesir god could awaken her."

"Is it because of the god?"

"It is possible, but you must send a message." Yuuno nodded as he held a message in his hand. "Take this to the Grand Mage Elroy in the capital. He will have to use his skills to calm her. Go now, quickly."
