Yes. I've heard all of that about the Black box already... I always felt it was a piece of say the CC Corps servers that could be removed but made the game buggy when not connected.

is it possible that it could be the infamous, "black box" that holds every key aspect of the world?

*dodges Flames from every conceivable direction*

If you think about it, it's very much possible that Tri-Edge, or the AIDA's in general, are trying to access it.
When in which trailer?

And on a related note, I think that most of the people I've seen talking about the "black box" are taking it far too literally. In programming terminology, a black box is quite simply a program which takes an input and gives an output, without the user knowing how exactly the program gets from the former to the latter. In the .hack//series, CC Corp can create areas, monsters, items, and events, but all of these simply call on the core programming of The World, which no one in the company has ever seen.

Hey, in the new preview trailer that has parts of the Epitaph of Twilight sung in German in the background, at the end it lists some credits and in the tiny writing it lists all the meanings of "G.U." After that there is more writing but I can only clearly make out "...Agent of ID..." and "...AURA..." It's hard to clearly see, but maybe someone can read it for me (us).

We foudn most of those back in the TGS trailer I believe. Or at least our best guesses.

I'm not refering to the meanings of G.U., but what is written after that (the last two lines of tiny writing).

Do you know the rough time of the video minutes..seconds...

At 23 seconds, the tiny writing near the middle, the first two lines are the meanings of G.U. (as far as I can tell), but the last two lines are hardest to make out (I could only come out with "Agent of ID" and "AURA").

I don't see what you're saying. Which trailer?

This one.

But I found out what they were, they are different meanings for the acronym AIDA. One's that I could make out were:

Automatic Idea Demanding Affection.
Agent of ID ________ ___.
Anti-Intrusion Device for "AURA".
Appear from Illusion and Dance in the Actuality.
AI which Decides on Anotherway.
Autosummoned Ideal Data Acquisition.
Abrupt Invisible _____ _______.

These are very interesting, especially the one about Aura.

You sure that's the trailer? I don't see any GU acronym flashes in that one...

They don't flash, at the very end of the trailer when it shows the credits, near the middle of the screen is tiny writing that is hard to make out, it doesn't flash, it's just plain white text.

get close to the screen and squint, once I figured out they all stood for AIDA, it was easier.

This thread discusses that from one of the older trailers.

A Black Box, in computer terms, refers to a program that cannot be understood by anyone except it's original programmer, because they can't see the processes going on. Hell, this Board is a Black Box to everyone except the Administrators, since a normal user can't see the code.

That I knew (the un understandable part), I thought it was a physical part of something though, like an airplanes black box.

Then, isn't it feasible that Tri-Edge or something else is trying to infiltrate the black box? After all, it does contain the original programs for Aura's creation, Morganna's core processes, and for all we know, it could contain the most intact copy of the Epitath of Twilight to date.

But if the World was made over then why would the black box be there? Wouldn't the CC Corp have removed it since they considered it a threat and now had a way of getting rid of the black box? And there's a chance CC Corp caused the fire on purpose.

But without the black box, Aura, the Bracelet, Data Drain, and data on the Phases wouldn't exist, as they do in G.U.
