Reid: allright then since we're getting wine I might as well ( he breaks off a piece of bread and he eats it) okay soo not drinking too much definitely placed on the lista full minute huh? That sounds horrible ( he laughs jokingly) you really went and asked for the wine huh? We do have class tomorrow oh screw it lets make this night memorable ( the server stops by and he pours both Lucille and Reid a glass of wine and he leaves the bottle on the table for the two of them to enjoy, once the two of them place there orders the server walks off)...so umm hey Lucille I kind of wanted to give you something special today but you don't mind waiting until we're alone do you? when or..h-how should I give it to her?!...wait no that's not the right time...I got it she'll give me mine and I'll give her hers like a counter! I'm a genius

Karin: love able fellow threatening his new "sister in law" eh bring it ( she blushes at Sylvester's actions) I-idiot there's no cameras around you know? ( she finishes eating) so then ( she holds out her hand) I'm ready when you are? W-we have to make it look real right ( she grabs his hand and laces her fingers through his) lets go

Alex: oh wow ( he steps out of the limo and he helps Mira out) you weren't kidding...( he holds out his arm) shall we miss super president?

"It wouldn't do for the "bride to be" to not be blushing, now would it?" Sylvester countered teasingly. He nodded, "Quite right." Sylvester raised her hand to his lips as they walked out into the main hall. A wall of silver greeted them and he led them to the end of the line. 1:"Tybalt, I'm going to need you two over here tonight." Everybody somehow knew he was referring to Sylvester. 5:"Why thank you, dear brother." He led them to the other side of the podium Milo was standing at, passing Grimalken and the woman on his arm, she was athletically built and had dust crystals worked into an outfit designed with function in mind more than fashion, apparently she was a huntress; the polar opposite of the glasses wearing nerdy looking Grimalken. They also passed Callie; Tybalt Sr., who nodded and smiled slightly at Karin, and his wife, who's eyes directed loathing at Sylvester. Ultimately they stood next to Felix, who had a model with him.

1:"Ok, let the festivities begin!" A live orchestra began playing and the large doors were cast wide. Finely dressed men and women began filing in from outside, a servant received the invitations and announced the attendees. Felix was rather stoic, Chance well Chance was hitting on the model with him didn't seem like he was having a lot of success, Toby had a wolf eared faunus with her who looked extremely uncomfortable in the suit but she was just chit chatting with him and never really giving him a chance to complain or say anything really. She did manage to frequently look in Karin's direction with a warm smile. Callie mostly let her mouth fall agape as Grimalken was carrying on a very relaxed and natural conversation with the huntress. Frankly, all of the Schrodingers shot glances at him in disbelief. Mostly people walked up and thanked Tybalt Sr. for the invitation before wandering off to the tables laden with a buffet of fantastic foods.

"What a gentleman." Mira complimented as she took his hand. "Remember, just be stunned into silence by my beauty if anybody talks to- omg." She said as she saw Karin with Sylvester, then her eyes focused in on the ring on Karin's finger. "Wha-Buh-Huh?" The servant took their invitation, "Lady Mirajane Strauss and Escort!"

"Ah, Mira's here. And she's noticed us." Mira walked, as quickly as was polite, across the hall until she was standing before Sylvester and Karin. "Tybalt, what's going on?" Sylvester couldn't help but chuckle. "It's fairly obvious Mirajane. The actual announcement will be after the opening ceremony." He turned to Karin and kissed her. "Since when have you two been dating!?" Mira let out a hushed screech. "The night our teams were formed. For obvious reasons we were trying to keep it quiet. You understand, Mirajane, don't you?" She couldn't very well admit to not knowing, so Mira just sighed, "Yes yes, I know." "Alex, I almost didn't recognize you. October told me she and Mirajane spent a solid week of evenings designing those outfits for tonight." "Stunned, silence." Mira said pointedly staring at Alex. She turned her attention to Karin, "Oh, Karin, that is such a beautiful ring. Did you pick it out yourself or did our Tybalt just ambush you?"

Maybe now Mira will stop wasting her time on me and maybe she'll seriously consider Alex.

“Of course I ordered the wine Reid! That's how adults celebrate, and the owner just insisted you know? Can't turn down such goodwill it's unbecoming of a gentleman...” Lucille smirked and laughed, “A minute is a long time on the battlefield Reid, 5 dozen lifetimes!” She laughed with gusto and tore off another small piece of bread. She smirked while the server poured the wine and took her glass. “Huh? Yeah um... not at all we'll wait until we're alone to exchange gifts. T-that makes sense yeah... that seems fine.” Lucille spun her glass a bit and watched the win swirl in her glass. 'I hope I didn't bring this for nothing... bah... I should just get him to drink... that'll loosen him up.' “Reid! Cheers!” She held her glass high and clinked glasses with Reid, bringing hers to her lips and sipping generously. 'Whoa... this is... different...' She winced her face and wrinkled her nose. “H-haha... h-how is it Reid?” 'It's not as sweet as Hoernle used to say...'

Reid: ah Lucille your not supposed to drink it that fast ( he takes his own sip) not...terrible I guess ( he takes another sip) be honest you ordered the wine and haven't ever actually drank wine before have you? ( he smiles jokingly) hey Lucille have you ever gone Ice skating before?

Karin: well honestly I didn't think he would of proposed so quickly I mean first we became partners than teammates and suddenly he asked me to marry him the whole thing really did come about rather unexpected it really surprised me and he hasent even told my father about the news yet too

Alex: wow two people I Know are getting married and their engaged at this fancy party your meeti must of been pre ordained in the stars you two congratulat- ( he feels danger approaching if he keeps talking so he decides to shut up) ah umm...( he sighs)......she can't really expect me to be quiet the whole night

“I can drink as I want to Reid! Adult drinks this up like water!” She said and took another gulp, wincing as she tasted it and shaking her head, scrunching up her nose face and wrinkling her nose. “I-It doesn't matter if I never drank it sweetie! What matters is that we did! That we lived, you know?” She laughed and bit her lip,swinging one leg over the other. “Reidy-poo, I don't wear shoes, why would I wear blade shoes?” She responded sarcastically and bit her lip taking another piece of bread. 'Is Reid gonna take me ice-skating? Oh god what if I fall? Does he ice skate? He's good at dancing... I'm good at dancing, foot dexterity is my name!' She laughed to herself enjoying her joke. “Reidy-poo, where's your scarf?” She asked taking another sip of wine, a bit more naturally this time.

Sylvester smiled at Alex shutting up. "Thank you Alex." He leaned in and whispered in his ear, "Maybe you'll dip your toe in the water sometime yourself." He glanced pointedly at Mira and leaned back.

"What are you whispering about, Tybalt?" "How lovely that outfit looks on you. I can count on your skills for Karin's wedding dress, can't I?" "Of course! Ah, have you two set a date yet?" "No, we haven't really had time to discuss things in such detail. Will that affect the dress?" "Honestly, of course it will. Men, they don't understand anything, do they Karin? We'll figure out the big one when you've picked out a date, venue, etc. For now, let's talk about the dress for the next major event. We can do anything obviously, it would have been better if I had been able to put something together for you for tonight, this is your first major dance after all, but that just means you need to make an even bigger splash next time. What is it about this dress that you like so much? And what would you like the next one to have that this doesn't?"

With Mira in designer mode, Alex might be able to breathe a little easier for a few minutes. Sylvester subtly flagged down a servant who brought a platter of champagne over, giving everyone a long stemmed glass. "You going to be alright?"

Reid: Reidy poo? nickmames or is she a little?...no wayi uhh I wanted to take you Ice skating just the two of Us you don't necessarily need skates I mean socks are slippery you can slide it might be abit slippery but I can probably use my dust to whip something's up hmm my scarf? I left it On my beds once I was all dressed up I didn't know how it would of looked so I left it home but it still feels alittle weird being out without my scarf on. ( the server comes by with their food ) oh why did you ask by the way?

Karin: wow uhh umm no we haven't discussed a date or anything yet it all happened rather suddenly for now were playing it by ear although a wedding in the summer time wouldn't be too bad and Im thinking maybe we should wait until after we graduate but we haven't discussed op much hey.."do you want to help plan it? Dress actually your input would be greatly appreciated. I'm new to this whole dressing like this?

Alex: ( he blushes as he looks to mira) yeah.. m-maybe if she even sees me that way which I doubt I think I should be fine ( he takes the glass) *sigh* I'm pretty much used to Mira by now se is or super president afterall the whole not talking thing might be alittle hard believe it or nt I've been to an event similar to this but nothing so extravagant I'm having alittle trouble adjusting ya know?

“Mhmmm! I said Reidy poo you silly little boy.” She laughed and bite her lip putting her wine down. “Ooooooh! Ice skating sounds fun! And I could dance around in my sockies haha I'd be like a ballerina!” She touched the tips of her fingers gracefully over her head. “Or you couls make me ice skates! With your dusties!” She laughed and nodded as the server came back with their food. “I'ma so used to seein' ya with it on you know? Coverin' your li'l' neck and stuff haha pluuuuuus I can't give you your giftie without it!” She poked her food and ate it with gusto, her cheeks a rosy red, she sipped wine naturally with her food, spilling it out of the corner of her mouth occasionally.

After she was done eating Lucille smiled widely and blew Reid little kisses, her toes tapping against his. She dropped the box on her lap and bit her lip. “You're a cutie you know? *hic* The wine's pretty good! I'ma get another glass!” She poured herself more wine and laughed as she missed the glass slightly.

"Well, I suppose I could help you out a little." Mira said, poorly hiding her excitement at getting to plan a wedding. And you're doing just fine. You'll never look as good as I do, but we can definitely get you to be the third prettiest here, right after myself and Toby."

"I'm sure you'll do fine. She probably just doesn't want you feeling like you said anything you shouldn't have. Or maybe she's just used to having models on her arm. That's how she usually attends when she's not with somebody. Ah. Then again, she might not want anybody to know where she met you. Considering her being a huntress is largely believed to simply be a hobby by this crowd."

Reid: ( he finishes off his meal but then he notices Lucille going for another glass) I think maybe let's hold off on the wine for now okay? I'll just have them re bottle it and we can take it with us okay? im starting to feel alittle weird myself how strong is this wine anyway? wait my giftie has to do with my scarf?..( he smiles at her compliment) your a real cutie too Lucille come on ( he walks over to her) some fresh air will probably do her some good so are you ready to go there's still alittle more to do or if your feeling tired we can call it an early night

Alex: a hobby really? Why would people say that I've watched her first hand maybe at first glance it would seem like such but If they saw her in action what would they think then?- what did you say models?!...oh man how am I supposed to compete with that I mean look at me *sigh*

Karin: third prettiest well compared to you and Toby I'll be happy to be third prettiest (she smiles playfully) lets out this conversations on hold for now what about your that's Alex isn't it? I hardly recognized him you decided to invite him along soo what's the story there huh?

“O-okay Reid, we can drink lots more later!” She cheered and tried to cork the bottle. “Haha! Got it!” She said confidently before being distracted by Reid's question. “No... what giftie? It's a secret! Silly silly boy...” she smiled widely and titled her head to the side, “Oh Reid hush, I'm not super cute!” She bats her hand at him and offers it to him so he can help her out of her seat. She swiftly grabs the box as she gets up and hides it behind her back. “Tired? Reidy-poo I'm wired! Let's go ice skating! Ice skating! Ice skating! I wanna go ice skating!” She spun around dipping under his arm. “Mwa ha ha ha!” She laughed and kissed Reid suddenly before taking the bottle of wine. “To the ice rink we will gooooooooo! We will out-skate all our foooooooooes! On every rink we will playyyyyyyyyyy! Reid let's make our waaaaaaaayyyy!♪” She giggled to her tune.

"A woman of breeding would not lower herself so." Sylvester said with a shrug. "They think the same about Toby. Of course I've also, "horribly corrupted" her." He raised an eyebrow at Alex, "Have you seen yourself? As they say, the clothes make the man. Besides, you are here, with her."

Mira turned red at Karin's question. "Um, well, uh, oh I have to talk with Toby, right now. Bye." She grabbed Alex and hurried away.

Sylvester leaned in and whispered in Karin's ear. "You just scared off Mirajane, not an easy feat, definitely keeping you. Just what did you say?"

Reid: yeah lots more later ( he happily took her hand in his as he said good bye to the owner and the two left and found a small ice rink on the edge of town in fact I was pretty deserted there a few people but it was ally private) allright! ( he drags her onto the ice) ahaha it's okay ( he holds onto Lucille like their dancing) I've got you see ( he activates his dust to form blades on bottom of his shoes like Ice skates) do you want to dance? I thought you wanted to out skate all of our foes? ( he smiles at her jokinglyand he notices her actions when their on the ice) you really haven't skated before have you?

Karin: ( she takes a sip of her champagne) I asked her about Alex and she got all flustered judging by her reaction he has a shot by do ya think she even realizes how she feels? Ahhh young love..so your gonna keep me huh? Did I hear you right?

Alex: ( he waves the "engaged" couple good bye as he's dragged off) wait hood on Mira you don't have to drag m- ( he notices Mira's face is red) are you okay your face is all red are you feeling all right?

Lucille's feet slipped and slid the box into the bag with their wine so she wouldn't drop it on the ice. Her feet were close to one another and she bites her lip looking at her feet. “R-Reid the ice is freezing cold!” She whispered staying on her toes and trying not to slip again as they danced on the ice. “We are gonna out-skate everyone here, just g-gimme a sec!” She still held on to Reid's hand but made some distance, pushing her hair out of her view as she looked at her feet. “I haven't worn shoes ever Reid! Of course I haven't skated!” She said, a little red puffing up on her cheeks. Her legs lost traction and she fell, holding onto Reid's hand for dear life. “R-Reid pull me up!” She hissed blushing brightly. 'Uggh this is hard! My feet won't stay on the ice! I can't even dig in my toes! Dammit!' She pulled herself up and stomped her foot, sliding again. “Reiiiiiid!”

Reid: oh woah- ( he reaches his hand out and he catches her with one hand on her back and he looks her in the eyes) your okay see Im not gonna let you fall ( he lifts her up carefully) allright here just bear with the " foot prisons" for now okay ( he he controls ice as they form around Lucille's feet forming crystallized Skates) they should dissolve after we step off the ice here just hold my hands and I'll lead okay? ( he smiles at her reassuringly)

Karin: soo then Fiancé...what's on the plan for the rest of the party?

Alex: eh Mira? Why is your face all red you sure your all good?

Lucille blushed as their eyes met and looked away suddenly, biting her lower lip, “T-thank you Reid.” She whispered sheepishly and let him lift her so he could form the cold ice-skates. She shivered from the cold, but smiled softly. “Okay Reid, I'll wear them for now. But they better dissolve after we skate or I'll kick your little butt!” She said wrinkling her nose and holding Reid's hand, her bravado back in spades. “You lead I'll make sure to stay upright, haha okay?” She said trying to get used to not only wearing shoes, but learning to stay on the ice. 'My head feels better now, just a little headache.' She smiled and waded slowly holding Reid's hands. “When did you learn to skate sweetie?” She asked biting her lower lip and looking into his eyes.

"Shut up. Shut up. Shut up. Shut up!" Mira all but yelled at Alex. "I'm fine, just be quiet."

"Smile,kiss, and dance, mostly." Sylvester said and inclined his head towards a middle aged couple approaching them. "Well, aren't you the cat that ate the canary?" "The man's voice held an edge of derisiveness. "Does it show that much?" Sylvester asked pleasantly and pulled Karin closer, resting his hand on her waist. "Quite, we hope you two are purrfectly happy together."

"See just keep smiling, as long as they're polite about being rude." He said with a smile once they had moved on. Not terribly long after, young man with a model approached them snearing. "Well aren't you a perfect match? I suppose it's true what they say you can take the rat out of the gutter but you can't take the gutter out of the rat." Sylvester turned to Karin, "He did just insult both of us. Would you like to handle this one, lover, or should I?"

Reid: when did I learn to skate? ( both Reid and Lucile skate slowly) I learned a long time ago my master, he took me and Farrah to a frozen lake during the winter and he taught us both how to skate and after falling on my face alot and falling, and falling, and of course there was more falling I finally got a knack for it and before you ask no I have never gone skating we Farrah like this your the first one ( he smiles at her) I'm glad your doing alittle better your headache shouldn't be too bad I hope?

Karin: hmmm ( she looks at the man and then the model)uh-huh..( she looks back at the man and then back to the model) seriously how much is he paying you to be here with him I mean surely a girl of your standing can do better than a rich snob am I right? ( she looks at Sylvester) what do you think Fiancé? Maybe they struck some kind of deal? ( she looks the man) wait are you implying I'm a rat or hes a rat?.. I mean seriously think up more original insults how boring of you. He's a cat firsti all ( she sticks her tonge out at the man)

Alex: ah okay, sorry Mira ( he looks o see several people are dancing) so do you maybe want to dance?

"Why you low born sow-OW!" The man had raised his hand to slap at Karin and then his nose had been replaced by Sylvester's fist and he fell backwards. Sylvester took the glass of champagne back out of his mouth sighing, "Honestly, love, you could have just said pass." The man grabbed at his nose. "Agh, why you- Ah!" Auntie Dot grabbed the man by his hair and dragged him away. "Do avoid spreading his blood around, Auntie." Sylvester said with a nod. "Sorry, Tina, didn't get any blood on you did I?" The model curtsied, "No, thank you for your Tybalt, you don't mind if I stick around and enjoy the festivities, do you?" "Of course not, the lobster tails will be coming out in a minute. You can catch a ride back with one of the others, can't you?" "You do know how to spoil a girl. Ah and, I don't believe I've had the pleasure. You can call me Tina, and thank you for your concern, Mrs. Schrodinger, but the agency makes the arrangements and I wouldn't turn down a chance to attend this gala. There's a rumor going around that Hanged Man's Joke will be performing. Care to shed some light on that, Tybalt?" "You'll just have to stick around for the whole gala to find out. Just like the last few times you've asked me." "Alright. Hey, have you heard of them? Hanged Man's Joke." She turned, starry eyed, towards Karin, hoping to either find a kindred spirit or someone to induct.
