don't forget Hokuto from //AI Buster tho... she seemed like a chipper noob, but was actually a really intense player who just created a fresh character for some perspective. I wouldn't be surprised if they pull something like this..as it isn't unknown..
but also...all the other .hack staples have been noobs (look at kite...), so that shouldn't have too much bearing on her having a major role or not

In the audio drama and in Roots, Ovan seems much less concerned with Tabby and much more concerned with Haseo. I am interested in what happens to Sakisaka and Tabby though. By the time of the games you'd expect them to be powerful allies who would help Haseo regain his levels. Instead they haven't been shown once yet. It's weird 'cause Haseo and Ovan don't seem to care either, so it's not like they were DDed by Tri-Edge... Maybe they just quit, I guess...
I think there is something special about Tabby since Shino said "I have a good feeling of the child ive been looking into to." I kinda find it kinda stupid how they made it like it was a big emergancy that Tabby got Pked. Now if it was Tri-Edge then yea then it would be. I dont really find her hot either that tail in the back of the head just wierds me out o.O
same here I mean it looks like it just her hair made to look like a cat tail which is coll...it's when it starts moving on it's own when she is standing still were it's a little weird.....anyway back on topic, it may be that tabby's reason to be in the guild in my opinion (sorry if this was already said) is to assest Haseo in some way..maybe to made him more open to people or something that will help along his own special whatever. As to how Ovan would know this...I have no cluelaysh wrote:that tail in the back of the head just wierds me out o.O

If they parted ways a few months earlier then it doesn't surprise me that there isn't much contact between them. But I feel they may still have a role to fill in G.U. It's just that so many new characters were needed to be introduced in the first volume of G.U., and they were introduced in Roots, that they were left out. But now that all the major players in G.U. have been introduced, then they could be brought in. Plus they would be quite high levelled conpared to Haseo in G.U. And it would upset the balance of levelling if you had really powerful characters that early.Kuukai wrote:In the audio drama and in Roots, Ovan seems much less concerned with Tabby and much more concerned with Haseo. But whoever said it earlier, you rigth about the feeling given off by Ovan that anyone asked in the Twilight Brigade is there for a special reason. Why else would it be such a small guild, and not have had any new members for quite some time before Haseo and Tabby joined. They were asked for a reason. Haseo's being obvious, Tabby's not. We'll just have to wait and see what happens.
I don't see Ovan being the type of person to just let anyone in. There has to be something about the others that he's prepared to let them join even though Haseo is the only one who he wants. Plus the way B Set talks about not wanting it known she was in the Twilight Brigade means that there must be some sort of talk going on that makes being a part of that guild something different. No other guild seems to get that kind of attention. Whatever Ovan is after can't be done by just him, Shino and Haseo, otherwise there wouldn't be a need for the others in the guild.

You all make very good points but you all seem to forget something when you say only wanted Haseo and not Tabby. If that's true then why did he waste time inviting her, to get more people to join the guild? He could have asked more people to join if that's the case. 'But Gord and B-Set went back to the guild so Ovan did get more people'
To those who may wanted to say that remember Gord and B-Set were members before Ovan might just have predicted they would come back. And if that's true it shows Tabby was invited to join for a reason.

But the area where the pillars are is only found during the anime. And no one was ever certain just how many virus cores there were until Haseo figured out they'd activate the pillars. It's just too coincidental for that to be the reason for the numbers. And with B Set and Gord helping out, there are more than 5.

I never said B Set did have a virus core, as I know she's never possessed one. There just has to be more why these people were permitted to join. Including B Set and Gord. Ovan was not surprised by them helping out. So he knew that even when they left, they'd end up helping back out. Something abuot them is right for what Ovan wants, even though Haseo is something special and absolutely needed. For the others, it seems like so long as they're the right people, they'll do. It doesn't have to be those exact people, but people like them at least. But it has to be Haseo. Hence why Ovan wanted him, unlike the others.
Who has wanted to get in any been rejected?Gaia wrote:I don't see Ovan being the type of person to just let anyone in.
It's they're a guild that goes around doing ridiculous things looking for an item no one believes exists. Like Phyllo said, Ovan is widely known as an "oddball".Gaia wrote:There has to be something about the others that he's prepared to let them join even though Haseo is the only one who he wants. Background PCs sure talk about TaN alot...Gaia wrote:No other guild seems to get that kind of attention.
Probably true, I'm just saying the "backup" doesn't seem to be particularly important to him, though he does need it... The last incarnation of the guild (excluding Shino) consisted entirely of members who Ovan told next to nothing...Gaia wrote:Whatever Ovan is after can't be done by just him, Shino and Haseo, otherwise there wouldn't be a need for the others in the guild.
