Kirion: about the stitches yeah I can pretty much help buti need a warm shower and a new suit or change of clothes...( he holds his hand out to sparrow ( as his hand begins glowing) this might sting a little bit ( the stitches begin to close on sparrows body)...let's see scary doctor guy not believe in magic when he sees this ahahahahaha! *cough* shurias not the only one who gets upset when someone calls us fake or assumes it...

Shuria: to answer you question that was a form of ancient magic...from what I can assume this isn't going to be an isolated incident theirs probably going to be more frequent attacks...

Kirion: their aim might be the cities barrier field... I can only make speculation their probably after the cities blastia core destroy that the whole barrier crumbles thus leaving the city open to attack by wild monsters...or worse

Shuria: ( she looks at Kirion and gives him a looks that theirs no need to say anymore)

Kirion: anyway your better off probably not getting involved with me anymore after this.

Sparrow flexed his muscles, he looked down at his body, frowning. "Yeah, that's much better, thanks." He walked over to some drawers and pulled out a white pair of tennis shoes, a black leather jacket, and an envelope addressed to him. He tore the message open, a pair of keys fell out, and he skimmed the letter. "You shouldn't get angry, I can think of a number of reasonable explanations for everything I've seen you do, even the healing you just did. And all the stories about demons and whatnot are just that to him. Stories." Sparrow pulled on the shirt and jacket while he spoke. "If not for the fact that I can't sense any of the necessary technology on you I still wouldn't believe it." He sat down to put his shoes on, "As for not getting involved with you. That was never really my choice. These little guys wouldn't give me a moment's peace if I didn't." Sparrow held his hands out; a dozen sprites were floating around the technomancer. "The sprites can sense the danger, like animals fleeing from an oncoming storm, but they can't flee so they come and bug me to help you. Come on, I've got some spare clothes at my place and I need a shower myself."

The keys were to an old black motorcycle in the parking garage, "Can't believe he actually leaves this here." He handed Kirion the helmet and they took off as soon as they were both on the bike. The machine roared loudly and Sparrow grinned madly as he raced towards the gate and burst out of the garage with a security guard shouting after him furiously. He parked the bike beneath a cover in an apartment lot. "I think I might have actually made a new record." Sparrow had replaced the typical key lock with a keypad and it unlocked without him even touching it. "As it's my place, I'll be showering first, while I'm doing that you can find something to wear in my closet." The apartment was a single bedroom, there was a couch, a tv with a game console, and the controllers were all piled up on the floor in front of it none of them looked like they had ever been touched. Sparrow grabbed a white t-shirt, black jeans, and a pair of black dress shoes. "Knew I should have invested in another pair of tennis shoes. I'll be out in a bit." He closed the door behind him and hopped in the shower. The black suit didn't take long to get out of, it was pretty similar to one of his racing suits. The threads from the stitches weren't necessary to hold him together anymore and were just being annoying now and there were a lot of them. "I look like Doctor Stein now. Awesome..." He sighed as he ran a hand down the line of staples running the length of his spine.

After his shower he got dressed, walked out, and flopped onto the couch, one of the legs gave out but he didn't seem surprised nor caring. Sparrow had put the black suit back on beneath his clothes; after a few seconds of resting his eyes he looked up at Shuria, "Hey, did you spy on me while I was in there?"

"It's important," an older man spoke as he sat in his office. "Considering the power that we have at our disposal, we should use her to get to the bottom of this issue." A political army it seemed was considering the dragon attack.

"She already interfered earlier. She ascertained the two that were involved were not the ones who summoned the dragon." One of them spoke. "She has not interfered since regarding any of others.

"What are we going to do regarding her will? It seems we've given her a bit too many freedoms."

"Perhaps we should move her into more isolation." The head of the table spoke, motioning towards a folder. "She is more than willing to comply to our wishes." The group looked nervous, but nodded. "We will make Pearl comply if necessary."

The others nodded again. As they stood, a group of men began preparing the supplies necessary. The move would be at first light or just before. The future of their power counted on it.

Kirion: ( he manages to take a shower and as he finishes up ( he runs outside after changing into a pair of cargo pants to grab a shirt as sparrow catches a glimpse of a large cross shaped scar on kirions back before he puts on a shirt)

Shuria: please don't be gross Imba spirit remember or is that your thing?

Kirion: wow this place sure has a lot of technology... ( he looks at the game system) what's this thing?....anyway do you mind if I stay here tonight? I'll leave tomorrow morning and be on our merry way

Shuria: yeah it looks like we're going to busy from here on out... If that incident today is related to the philosophers stone then it looks like we came to the right city after all...

"Oddly enough, most girls don't have wireless enabled cameras in their showers." Sparrow replied. "But yes, I did go through a phase." He stood up at Kirion's question; the tv and console whirred to life. "Sure ou can stay, so long as you don't mind the couch. It's a videogame console. Here." He plugged a controller in and handed it to Kirion. "I leave you in the capable hands of Game Master Hex." A 64 bit icon of an old man appeared on the screen with speech bubbles. "He's a sprite. Hex, start up .hack//G.U. for him. Be patient, he doesn't know what a power button looks like." Sparrow tossed a pillow and some blankets on the couch for Kirion. "There's orange soda in the fridge and gummy frogs in the pantry. Oh and Shuria." He placed a finger beneath her chin. "Not everyone is into the same things." He tilted her head up slightly and then let his hand fall to his side as he walked back to his room. "Take Bob for example, a spirit of intellect bound to a skull who just loves his romances. Good night." He finished with a yawn as he shut his door and crawled into his bed. He hadn't realized just how tired he was, Still in recovery mode I guess. Was his last thought before his alarm system beeped on and he fell asleep.

Kirion: huh? ( it took Kirion a good while to understand what was on the screen)

Shuria: technology ks such a waste hey that was interesting what exactly-

Blue haired man: Astral? ( a spirit manifests itself on his shoulder in the form of a bird) what is it?..kirion?

Teen boy: hey come on what's the hold up? We have to head to the meeting place. Ray can't make it cause he's attending s e meeting regarding that fortune teller girl I think we found the lance of kresnik

---------the next morning----

Kirion and Shuria: ( Kirion is passed out on the couch with Shuria unconscious on top of him with the controller hanging out of her hand and theirs empty bags of chips on the floor) along with several books almost as if they read through them within the time span of one night as Kirion wakes up)

Kirion: *yawn* How long has it been since we've slept under a roof?...get up come on?

Shuria: 5 more minutes....( she rolls as her hand smack Kirion)

A dark figure with a stark white skull and crown stood before Kirion in the dark room, it knelt down and whispered, "Don't let the pigeon touch the books." After a few seconds the figure stood once more and left Kirion and Shuria otherwise undisturbed. After a few minutes the figure returned, this time without the crown and it did the most evil and vile thing imaginable, it raised some blinds letting searing natural light in. The figure stood revealed to be Sparrow, who had been cleaning up the living room and after a few seconds of adjusting to the new brightness it became evident that Sparrow now had black hair. "It's after ten, I didn't even know spirits slept, much less overslept. You've already missed breakfast and second breakfast. I'm about to hit up IHOP's all you can eat pancakes for brunch, you coming?" Unlike normal Sparrow dress he was wearing all black, and it seemed he had purchased new shoes as these were not shiny dress shoes but black Jordans and it was evident by the black covering his neck and hands that he was wearing the black suit underneath his black jacket, black t-shirt, and black jeans. Either Sparrow felt like being dramatic or he needed to do laundry.

Pearl looked a bit worried as she was dressed, being urged to begin moving towards the back exit. She had been moved once or twice, but she could never get used to it. Platinum seemed to not even remotely look sad at the aspect of moving around. She adjusted her veil lightly as they followed the procession into one of the safest vehicles the government had ever made. She looked towards Plantinum, who was simply walking with the help of the maids beside her. The group of maids was the same as when she had first been brought in. Still, Platinum seemed to be looking confused at the moment. Had she had a bad dream?

Platinum's gaze was straightforward, but the future seemed almost horrible in some aspects. Someone had tried to see her that night. However, they were pushed away and the door was completely locked. Why was it that now it felt almost like something terrible would happen? She grasped the hand of one maid tighter. She allowed Pearl to enter the car first, following in as she closed her eyes and focused. She'd have to reassure herself that nothing bad would happen on their way to the place that they would serve the officials for another amount of time.

Shuria: ugh..yeah well you should know by know that I'm not just your average every day run of the mill spirit... I eat I sleep I get fatigued when over using magic hell I can eve interact with people if they have enough awareness. Anyway what was that thing me and Kirion were playing...it was absolutely fascinating...

Kirion: yeah it was awesome! ( he looks at sparrow) what up with the wardrobe? ( he stretches) allright so what should we do today?

Shuria: I'm thinking we need to gather information or atleast try to figure out who exactly caused that incident last night..

Kirion: oh hey sparrow do you know of a place that would normally I can get access to some information like that?

"A video game, specifically .hack//G.U. Volume 1: Rebirth. As for that information, the police have probably pulled all of the relevant footage already. The sprites and I will go get the data. Just make sure nothing happens to me." He sat down on the couch and then slumped as if unconscious. The ever helpful game master Hex displayed what looked like the city on the tv, but it was all very tron esque and certain parts were nonexistent and others were much bigger. A stylized version of Sparrow's motorcycle from the day before seemed to be flying through the streets. It stopped in front of the police station and then the building got huge, the motorcycle drove around the building several times and then up it before it finally went through an open window that didn't look like it should have been big enough, but a pair of characters that looked like Alkaid and Phyllo pulled it wider for it. And then a new city opened up and there were a lot of anthropomorphic dogs in police uniforms walking around.

The dogs didn't seem to pay any attention to the motorcycle driving around them. Eventually it came to a box of doggie treats and nudged it open, a large police bear popped out roaring and the bike transformed into a humanoid form armed with a chain and flanked by the .hack themed Sprites from earlier. What ensued was very similar to one of the fights Shuria and Kirion had gone through the night before, the humanoid even switched weapons a couple times and finished the bear off with a laser sword that extended from it's arm. As the bear fell the screen started flashing red and blue. The humanoid transformed back into the bike and then a couple more sprites? materialized next to the vehicle, these appearing to be large serpents of some sort, and started crashing through the landscape drawing all manner of dog and bear down upon themselves while the bike continued racing down the streets until it found what looked like a box of donuts which the bike nudged and then a second box started appearing on top of the bike. A team of black knights appeared around the bike. One cut down Phyllo, another put a lance into the bike's rear tire. It transformed again and readied to do battle while the box of donuts continued compiling on it's back.

In the real world, Sparrow grunted when the lance hit his bike and again as the fight with the knights continued and his avatar got cut again, but this time blood started dripping from the technomancer's nose. It came down to three knights and just Sparrow remaining. A red wand appeared in his hands that then became a scythe and he used it to reap all three of them at once. He then raced back out of the police station, drove through a number of police dogs, shattering them into polygons. The screen turned to many camera feeds from the night before and Sparrow woke up. "Ow what a headache, they really improved their security." He took several pills and rubbed his temples as he looked through the footage. "Ok, this is just before the dragon showed up. Y'all tell me if you see anyone doing voodoo."

Kirion: hey what exactly are you doing ( he stretches as he looks at the screen) this looks really complicated... And all of this...these guys are spirits and yet your not a mage?

Shuria: yeah their spirits all right For someone who isnt a mage hes Certaintly able to communicate UN believably well With the lesser spirits when it comes down to it neither myself or Kirion know much about this guy

Kirion: how are you able to communicate with the spirits like this?

Sparrow sighed, "They told me to call them sprites long before either of you showed up. You want to call them spirits; do so at your own peril." He closed his eyes and leaned back, "Kirion, I just do it, have for as long as I can remember. I'm a child of this era in practically every possible sense of the word. As for what I was doing before, it's called hacking. I broke into the police computer and- you wouldn't understand. Do I question how your magic works? No, I just accept the miracle and move on. You might as well adopt the same practice where I'm concerned since I can't explain it." Sparrow opened his eyes and glanced down at himself. "Oh, yeah. You were wondering about my clothes. The cops might be looking for me so I decided to change my appearance. Now watch the tv and find the guy."

Kirion: hmm well I'd you did ask I could explain it to you wait stop right there ( he points at the screen that's him..calls himself a Mage he looks more like a business man what gives?

Shuria: great lets go get him! ( kiriona grabs her shoulder)

Kirion: hold on we can't just go rushing in there besides sparrow could probablly use a break ( he also notices else something strange)...now what is that... Sparrow is their anyway you can save this image? And what was that..ummm print it out? It's your getting tired feel free to take a break)

"I'll be fine. Dealing with the IC was a little painful is all." Sparrow sat up and studied the man. "Yeah, I can print it out. I might even be able to enhance it some." They heard the sound of a printer coming to life in Sparrow's bedroom. "And Shuria, we just know where he was, not where he went nor where he came from. Yet." He got the printout and handed it to Kirion. "Ok." Sparrow cracked his knuckles and popped his neck. "You're in my world, little wizard, you can't hide from me." A white box appeared around the mage's head, and then the other footage started having similar squares pop up and playing short snippets as facial recognition picked him out. All fatigue was gone from the technomancer now that he was having fun. "Come on, just go ahead and make it easy on me, go into a store and use a card, let me track me down to your home and take away everything you love." Sparrow whistled and a handful of sprites appeared shortly thereafter, "Ok, guys, we're looking for the man in this image. We need the footage from all the nearby cameras that the cops didn't grab, I don't care if it's from a cell phone that was in the area, an ATM, or whatever just get it before it gets deleted, diving into the resonance for it later could take too long." He turned back to the mage sitting next to him, "So, what did you see?"

Kirion: ( he looks at the picture) I'm not entirely sure what I saw exactly something's just bothering me about this ( he looks at the image rather closely.. Wait! Can you access cameras at different angles ( he takes a piece of loose leaf paper and a pencil as he looks at different images that appear on the screen...( he begins drawing something on the piece of paper)...theirs no doubt about it...

Shuria: so what it's just an incantantion circle I'm sure it was just something some punk saw in a book and decided to do a little graffiti or whatever that's called...

Kirion: but why would the same circle be showing up around the city...it's almost like their trying to gather a large number of spirits to this place...but why...normally mages with the help of the lesser spirits a contract in formed thus granting us the ability to use magic but why would there be incantation circles all around the city? ... I don't like this Shuria?

Shuria: let's go check those out.. this many incantation circles... They couldn't mean?...the lance of kresnik shouldn't even exist in this realm anymore......we need to hurry

Kirion: sparrow do you know the way to where this picture was taken?

Sparrow blinked at Kirion repeatedly, almost as if he didn't understand the question. He's serious, isn't he? "Y-yes, Kirion, I know how to get to where that picture was taken." He went to the closet and tossed Kirion a blue helmet and jacket, "Should help if you fall off.", before they mounted the bike and Sparrow made, even for him, record time. On the way, he had one of the sprites find out everything it could about them through the web or otherwise. While Kirion did his thing, Sparrow put a hand on Shuria's shoulder to pull her aside. "Ok, I've got a name and a hysterical sprite. Kresnik's Lance, define."

Shuria:...you shouldn't worry yourself too much this is our realm of things...( she looks towards sparrow) but if your really serious them I'll tell you.. The Lance of Kresnik...loosely it's a ancient magic weapon it's classified as a spyrix instead of how Kirion and I use magic a spyrix captures the spirits and uses the, for energy..simply put it kills them...

Kirion ( he examines the magic circle) The lance of kresnik was onced sealed away from our worl by the great spirit king maxwell..Maxwell was also the great sage who seale away Thanatos with the lance..( he looks over at sparrow ) you not being a Mage normally would have no reason for concern after all humans these days aren't even aware of the spirits existence within our world. But that's not the issue. ( he casts a sealing spell on the incantation circle) who ever cast this circle s a powerful Mage and its impossible for one Mage to cast this many throughout an entire city were dealing with a entire group.

Shuria: if they somehow retrieved the lance we have to assume one of their objectives is to revive Thanatos

Sparrow pulled up a map of the city on his phone and had sprites help him mark the locations of all the circles. "Sounds like something that would require a lot of power." He looked up at Kirion blinking. "They're turning my city into a bomb for spirits. And SPRITES!" He hurried back to the bike, "Can you find where those sobs are hiding?"

As the car moved, Platinum looked at the seat in front of her. She could tell the people driving were worried, as if something would happen if they even remotely addressed it. The silence was confusing Pearl, the older woman could notice. She put one hand to the girl's hand. "We are to be put in a safe place. You are to be calm until there is a problem." Of course, she did not tell Pearl about the magic circles that had been forming.

Kirion: yeah you got it!

Shuria: wait! We have to be smart about this we can't just barge into their base or head quarters we'll be slaughtered in fact im just as mad as you are about this it's taking every ounce of my self control not to go wreck havoc on theme but look we can't just be impulsive about this first things first we need to seal off these incantation circles it should cancel some of the effects of the spell plus it will buy us some time look the second one is near by Kirion let's head to that while think up a plan do not go chasing after these mages do you under stand?

Kirion..tch! Fine yeah I get it... She's right our first priority is to stop this spell...come on let's get going

----police precinct---

Chief: hey kid we've been getting complaints about strange graffiti showing up at one of our crime scenes

young detective:...can't somebody else handle this case I'm about to go on a date

Chief: you know the rules Narutaki now get going besides your the only psychic on duty at the moment

Narutaki: ( he sighs as he stands up from his desk and fixes his tie) yeah yeah I got it already fine I'm on it ( he walks out of the precinct as he heads to the scene where the second incantation circle appeared)
