Fate/Alternate

Post by Kaori »

((Please PM me before joining, really, I certainly don't like putting this here but if some dyslexic comes around and goes ahead without my approval then at the very least I can call him/her out on that, its like you walk into my place without wiping your feet!))

“In the name of Joan of Arc, I command you, fourteen servants.”

The stage is set... And now another holy grail war is about to begin somewhere, with two groups, black and red, each having masters and their servants vie for the all powerful holy grail, with the holy maiden Joan of arc as its administrator.

Rules: the usual, no overpowered servants, and for christ's sake PM me if you want to join.

here are the servant classes:
Saber: Servants placed within this class are agile and powerful melee warriors. It is commonly assumed to be the best class overall, with high ratings in all categories. It is one of the three Knight classes, together with Lancer and Archer and also possesses the Riding skill like the Rider class.
Lancer: Servants placed within this class are very agile and skilled with long-range melee weapons, such as spears, lances, etc. It is one of the three Knight classes, together with Archer and Saber.
Archer: Servants placed within this class are usually proficient with projectiles and can survive longer without a Master nearby, thanks to their special ability Independent Action. It is one of the three Knight classes, together with Lancer and Saber.
Rider: Servants placed within this class place emphasis upon speed and powerful Noble Phantasms. Their special skill is Riding, which allows them to fully utilize abilities of their mounts (ranging from simple horses, through motorcycles, to divine creatures).
Caster: Servants placed within this class are adept in magecraft and have a special ability akin to Reality Marble, called Territory Creation, which alters or creates space around them to enhance their sorcery.
Assassin: Servants placed within this class are always, as a rule, one of the 19 Hassan i Sabbah, the leaders of the clan of the Hashshashins who passed their name down. The Assassin in Fate/stay night summoned by Caster is an exception, an aberration in the system, as he was summoned by another Servant. This rule comes from how the word "assassin" itself finds its etymological roots in that clan. The Assassins' special ability is Presence Concealment, which allows them to remain undetected. Offset by their stealth is their weak combat skills. Due to this, Assassins often target Masters instead of Servants.
Berserker: Servants placed within this class are always incarnations of heroes who have gone berserk on their lifetime. This trait allows them to use the special ability Mad Enhancement, which trades their consciousness (i.e. sanity) for a large power boost. Most Masters are incapable of controlling their Servant once Mad Enhancement has been activated, which eventually results in their death. (From the typemoon wiki)

Magus
Name: Lumina Gewehr
Age: 19
Gender: Female
Mage craft:
~Mystic Eyes of Enchantment: A powerful Mystic Eye that allows one to deliver high-level hypnosis to a target upon eye contact and is commonly seen with Vampires. Activation causes her eyes to temporarily change golden, helping to draw attention to them. Usually wears off once whatever order given is fully carried out (I.E. if she commanded you to leave her be, you'd come back to your senses to find yourself carrying on as if you never saw her with her nowhere in sight).
~Thumaturgical Theory - Notarikon: Thaumaturgical Theories are Greater Rituals that "engrave" a Thaumaturgical System -- a body of preestablished rules, fomented per the faith of the populace; arbitrated and regulated by the thaumaturgical school to which they belong. Commands dictated by mages are submitted through their magical circuits to the System, which processes said commands and executes functions ("Programs"). Lumina's Thaumaturgical School is the Kabbalah, a major Thaumaturgical School from Europe. More specifically, Lumina uses one of its ancient branches, the Notarikon. Little is known as to everything she can do with this as she rarely uses more then one or two forms of it.
~~Spell Intercept: Her most used Thaumaturgy, Lumina uses Notarikon codes to hijack the spell formula that the caster has been conjuring in their head and causes the magic to go berserk or be outright cancelled, providing she has enough prana to effect it. Autonomous Spells --like Bounded Fields-- that are already in effect are largely unaffected by this unless the Magus direct takes control of it.
~~Avalon: Her second most used Thaumaturgy. Lumina uses Notarikon codes to form a simple, but incredibly effective barrier in front of her that blocks all movement through that space in either direction. While a supreme Defense, it renders both sides unable to attack while in effect.

Bio: Lumina is a quiet girl that was orphaned at a young age, but was taken in by the Gewehr family thanks to her ability with Magecraft. Though she proved to be a strong Magus, Lumina's frail, semi-sickly body hindered her able to directly fight for long periods of time.

Servant
Name: Silmeria Valkyrie
Class: Archer
Noble Phantasm(s):
--Weaponry Phantasms--
~Slyvan Bow: One of the Four Treasures said to be guarded by the Elves when not in use. The Sylvan Bow is a powerful longbow said to scale in strength with its owner. As one of the three Valkyrie Sisters of Fate, Silmeria's arrows can easily crater stone walls even from extreme distance.
~Sword of the Third Sister - Valkyrie Favor: Silmeria's personal and, in a sense, true Noble Phantasm. A shining, silver-bladed longsword that 'delivers the Judgment of the Valkyries' upon a foe, allowing it greater damage against the Undead as well as Dark and/or Evil spirits and is classified as a Divine Holy Sword that easily identifies her as "The youngest of the Valkyrie Sisters" if drawn. Mostly used if a foe closes in on her and for her Strongest Attack(Described below).

--"Attack" Noble Phantasms--
~Blinding Blaze: A Bow-based attack that allows her to fire two Prana-infused arrows into the sky to either shower the foe in deadly arrows(Anti-army) or to Build-up energy for a single, lethal arrow shot(Anti-Unit).
~Halls of Valhalla: A Reality Marble that actualizes her full Power as a Valkyrie, the Battle-Maiden. It allows her temporarily call upon the Einharjar collected by her to this point to aid her in battle. Though powerful, the start-up required to cast this Reality Marble is exceptionally long, making it something to be started ahead of time in anticipation of its need, rather then a spur of the moment use.
~Judgement of the Valkyrie - Nibelung Valesti: Her strongest Noble Phantasm. By invoking the power of her role and drawing her blade, she can create and unleash a powerful 'Spear of Light' meant to pin a target in place and pass Judgement on their soul, sending them to even Odin's Halls or the Underworld of Queen Hel as appropriate. As Servants cannot be judged so, they simply receive the damage that a high-level attack piercing through them would cause. Uses the Line, "I shall engrave this upon your very Soul!" to activate Valkyrie Favor and unleash this attack.(Anti-Unit)

App:
http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h238/ ... 63a5cb.jpg
Bio: As the youngest of the three Valkyries, Silmeria is, characteristically, the most rebellious one, showing greater freedom of spirit than her two sisters, whom follow Odin's order's without question to the letter, and also sympathizes with her Einherjar, treating them with both authority and kindness, and prepares them for reincarnation as humans, rather than sending them to Valhalla. Due to these quirks of her personality and the fact that only one of the Three sisters can be active in one body at a time, Silmeria tends to remain 'sleeping' in wait for her time to awaken.

Master
Name:Ran Nanjou
Age: 16
Gender: Female
Magecraft:

Equivalent Exchange-The primary rule of Thaumaturgy is Equivalent Exchange. In order to create something, another object must be given as a price. It may also involve modification to an existing object. The base of all Thaumaturgy is the use of prana to produce something that either already exists or can exist. That which falls into the phantasm category, something made out entirely of images and might even not exist naturally anymore, will be eventually wiped out by the world for being in conflict with this rule.

Familiar-special assistants used by the magi. Since it's natural for a magus to separate himself from society, the use of familiars capable of performing small, simple errands is considered orthodox. Although a different entity, familiars are seen as an extension of the magus as there is both a mental and physical connection between the two. The symbol of the magus itself and fundamentally different from creatures like Demons or Spirits who are summoned and then bound by a contract, Ran makes use of them for reconnaissance

Appearance:http://cdn1.gelbooru.com//images/362/dd ... png?396028

Biography: the daughter of a European mother and a Japanese father, she inherited her abilities from her mother, she can store Prana in paper due to it being lighter and abundant, her mother teaches her magecraft while her father is unaware of the existence of magecraft, Ran is currently engaged to the son of a family friend.

Servant
Name: Uesugi Kenshin
Class: Saber
Noble Phantasm(s):
Kusanagi- one of the three sacred treasures of Japan it is also known as Ame-no-Murakumo-no-Tsurugi, it was said to have been used by Susanoo to slay the eight headed serpent Yamata-no-Orochi, it is also capable of controlling the wind.

God of War- manifests itself as an aura, Kenshin was said to be an avatar of Bishamonten, the skill augments Kenshin's already impressive prowess on the battlefield(Anti-Army Noble Phantasm)

The Dragon of Echigo- manifests itself as an aura, allows Kenshin to engage an opponent in one on one combat(Anti-Unit Noble Phantasm)

Appearance:http://cdn1.gelbooru.com//images/711/81 ... jpg?853550

Biography: Uesugi Kenshin was one of the most powerful lords of the Sengoku period. While chiefly remembered for her prowess on the battlefield, Kenshin is also regarded as an extremely skillful administrator who fostered the growth of local industries and trade; her rule saw a marked rise in the standard of living of Echigo. Kenshin is famed for her honourable conduct, her military expertise, a long-standing rivalry with Takeda Shingen, her numerous campaigns to restore order in the Kanto region as the Kanto Kanrei, and her belief in the Buddhist god of war — Bishamonten. In fact, many of her followers and others believed her to be the Avatar of Bishamonten, and called Kenshin god of war, Kenshin was also said to be an alcoholic who never showed interest in women.

Post by Zorolo »

Name: Zorlo Amaranthine
Age: 25
Gender: Male
Magecraft:

Seven Swords: Through a process that distills magical energy into the physical world, Zorlo can turn certain magically attuned handles into weapons of elemental energy. He carries four of these tubes at any given time. These tubes are powered by gems and burn out very quickly when used.

Projection: Zorlo's talent is in a very poorly conceived brand of magic known as Projection. Using a physical medium (such as a lead pipe, a piece of steel plating, a stick), he can use his prana to change the shape while maintaining equivalent exchange. Much like with his elemental blades, this consumes huge amounts of mana at once and the weapons only last for so long as he has mana to keep them created.

Team:Black
Appearance:
http://serenesforest.net/media/tcg/4/fe4-039.jpg

Biography: The last heir of the Amaranthine magi family, Zorlo's family dates back to the courts of Charles the Great of the Holy Roman empire. Their status as knights and nobles, along with their capacity to use magic made them extremely valuable. Due to a number of shortcomings and failures that followed his family after after the death of Charles and the dissolution of the Holy Roman Empire, few strands of magic remained by the time this Grail War begun. Upon learning that Zorlo had some magical power, he was given a relic and told to call upon a servant for the honor of his family. His training in swordplay and his intense chivalry makes him an overall dangerous foe.

Servant
Name: Roland, the Paladin
Class: Rider

Noble Phantasm:
Durendal: A famous sword that contains the sword is said to contain within its golden hilt one tooth of Saint Peter, blood of Saint Basil, hair of Saint Denis, and a piece of the raiment of the Blessed Virgin Mary. With these things, it is said that Roland the Paladin used this sword to fight off a thousand man strong army of Saracens and hid the sword beneath his body after he died and failed to destroy it, creating the pyrenees Mountains in the process. The sword is immensely sharp and never dulls, and is in fact so sharp that it cuts the air, creating effectively cutter waves.

Olifant: A horn made from the ivory tusk of an elephant. This horn was used to alert Charlemagne that the battle is lost. Like his sword, he failed to destroy it, and dies when the force he used to blow the horn caused his temple to burst. As a noble phantasm, it allows him to created a bounded field in which he summons the other eleven peers of Charlemagne's court, all Paladins like himself wielding varieties of weapons, that each possess E Rank Independent Action (they can subsist for about thirty minutes without acting, and each actions drains the period of time they exist substantially). These servants do not possess true noble phantasm of their own, but merely weapons.

Protector of Christendom: Aside from his highly blessed sword, Roland carries a shield that was blessed by both the Pope and the ordained King Charles the Great. As such, Roland's strength and defense increase against Pagans, divine beings (except angels and saints) and heretics. Although the bonus to his strength is static at one rank (his strength rises from C rank to B Rank), the defense of his shield scales based on the nature and strength of that nature of his foe. The strength of the shield is depicted by the shine from the cross at the center.

Veillantif: Roland's horse. A Valiant, white steed that he rode into battle upon. This horse also has divine protection that is granted to Roland and wears shining silver armor.

Appearance:
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/c ... valles.jpg

Biography: A servant that, much like his Master, is known very little about. Aside from being a Paladin in Charlemagne's court, his only exploit is fending off a thousand man army of saracens and creating the Pyrenees mountains when he failed to destroy his legendary sword, Durendal. Like his Master, he possesses a great drive, but like his master, his purpose feels somewhat lost, as he succeed in his goal in life. "Perhaps through battle, I shall find my meaning again," he was once heard saying.

the young girl sat at the airport reading a book, at first glance she seems normal, she wore a white sweater with a miniskirt of matching color with black shoes, she also wore hair ornaments that resemble black spheres, however she was far from normal, it was many years ago when her mother told her "I have a secret I haven't told you... I'm a Magi", Ran found it hard to believe but later on became a studious learner, learning all her mother could teach her, however a few weeks back her father made a surprising announcement: "you will be married", with that she knew she could no longer pursue magic, knowing she will have to leave her mother and become a wife, however, on the night before the wedding her mother told her, "would you like to become a Magi?", the girl answered yes and with that her mother made plans...

she left the house in secret and went to Fuyuki, once there she went to a friend of her mother who then helped he get a plane bound for Paris, the battleground for the holy grail war, she was told that the holy grail would be able to grant her wish, and with that she would wish to become a stronger Magi, she looked up and saw her companion for the journey, a young woman with purple hair, "lets get ready" she said as Ran got up, her belongings included a pair of duffel bags containing clothes and toiletries, as they went past the gate they boarded the plane and soon found themselves in the air, her companion decided to take a nap while Ran decided to continue reading her book.

Zorlo sat quietly as he adjusted his cape and stared down the hallway. The Amaranthines had once been famous, German nobility. Now they were little more than subjects of a cruel world. Still, what was left of their resources had been fueled into his training and preparation for this. With an old shield Zorlo's family had held onto, he had summoned to this world the Hero, Roland. This Rider would serve him bravely in combat, and the man believed he understood some about the Paladin.

"My Master, we should be off for Paris. I should warn you, however... your attire is quite odd for this time period... don't you think it will attract unwanted eyes?"

The magus laughed and nodded. "I do, but that's what I WANT to happen. I want them to find me and turn their blades on us. I know some are underhanded charlatans, but knights must fight as true warriors and not cowards."

Rider nodded at his masters words and quietly sighed. "As you command, my master."

"Now then, to the transit!" Zorlo stated as he bought himself some train tickets. His destination was Paris... for this Holy Grail War.

((Sorry for not posting, Kaori! I've just been busy with school training I forgot I needed to post here.))

In the City of Paris proper, a girl with ankle-length white hair breathed hard as she emerged from a dim alleyway onto a relatively empty street, coughing a little from her unplanned physical exertion. Behind her, group of young men argued loudly. Or rather. Two of them 'argued' with the other two, whom stood blocking the Alleyway, separating Lumina from the men that had wanted 'just to talk' with her. "Are you alright, Lumina...?" came Archer's whisper from a spot nearby where she stood dematerialized and invisible.

Lumina waved her off, coughing hard a few more times as the golden afterglow of her Mystic Eyes faded. "...I'll be fine..." she coughed as she looked back down the alley. The two blocking the way were under her Hypnotic control at the moment, thought that wouldn't last forever. Still, it was long enough to leave the area and be home. The few deep breaths later, and she was able to stop coughing and walk away just fine. She was just glad this wasn't a real fight yet. He minor asthmatic bouts would be the death of her.

Archer merely trailed behind invisibly before moving herself to the top of a nearby building, looking around as she roughly followed along. Just how in the World did such a physically Frail girl manage to summon me...? she thought to herself as she looked down toward her Master, who already looked a bit tired. She won't last on the Battlefield... Even with those eyes of hers...

The real fights, they'll be starting soon, I'm sure of it! Lumina thought to herself as she turned the corner and crossed over to the fenced property that she was fortunate enough to called home now. The gate opened at her approach and Archer landed silently behind her as the two entered and the gate closed behind them. far grander then the other nearby buildings, the 'small' mansion she was walking up to was the Gewehr family's secondary mansion, temporarily hers for this war. She felt it was too much for her, but the maids, butler, and other staff were friendly, which made things easier to bare.

((hey, no probs))
Ran was still reading her book while her companion slept soundly, she was reading about Servants, while staying in Fuyuki she was asked by her mother's friend as to who she would summon, after some explanation regarding the classes and about them, she at first suggested an assassin, something her Mother's friend disapproved of, after some deliberation she decided on a Saber, it took a while for them but they finally found a catalyst, the plans were already drawn, go to Paris, meet with her Mother's friend's "Friend" for lodging, summon her servant, then register for the war, it sounded simple but until its done, Ran won't rest, unlike her laid back travel companion, Ran noticed that despite her and her mother's friend being sisters Ran noticed that they had different hair colours, her travel companion wore a pink blouse and a long skirt and had purple hair while her sister had dark hair, as of now though she was sleeping and her eyes were covered by those blindfolds one would use for sleeping, she also kept muttering the name of some boy, Ran couldn't make it out but it sounded like "Shiro" she continued reading when the captain made an announcement, "we will be landing at Charles de Gaulle Airport in a moment, please keep your seatbelts fastened and your tray tables stowed", with that Ran fastened her seatbelt and made sure her tray table was stowed, she looked out the window and saw the airport, "I thought the airport would be in the city" she thought dissapointed, as she saw the airport surrounded mostly by fields, she then woke her companion up, "oh my, it must have been a long trip indeed" said her companion, moments later they descended, after picking up their luggage and hailing a taxi they found themselves in front of a European style mansion that oddly seemed out of place despite it being in Europe...

The train was nothing new to Zorlo. As they rode along quietly, heading towards the capital of France, neither Rider nor his master spoke. Similar though they were, they lacked anything to effectively say at the moment. Rider was a man of action. He'd wait for something to happen before acting. As for Zorlo, he was a man of patience. For now, he had nothing to talk about, and therefore he wouldn't speak unless he needed to. As the train slowed to a stop, the two filtered out with the rest of the people on the train and began to walk about.

"Let us find a place to rest. Its for the best," Rider stated as Zorlo nodded. They'd need to keep their strength up if they were to win the war.

Archer stood silently on the balcony overlooking the grounds in front of the Manor and the streets farther all. Though it wasn't extremely huge, the surrounding building were rather short and the Manor was on a small hill. Archer could feel them, the Heroic Spirits starting to move into and about the city. It was too bad her Older sister was the one capable of listening to the Souls of the Fallen and not herself for this would be an optimal time to learn about her foes from a distance. Regardless, none were really anywhere near them yet, but she had little doubt that would change in the nights--if not hours--to come. It was starting... "Archer, what has you so concerned?" Lumina asked from inside the room, where she sat relaxed in a large chair reading one of her innumerable books. Indeed, 'Avid Reader' was an understatement considering that an entire wall of Lumina's large room housed heavy shelves full of thick tomes of all kinds. The Girl didn't even glance up from her book. "Is there fighting nearby?"

Archer turned and looked back at her Master. That was another concern there. Lumina seemed easily fatigued physically and frail. But then, maybe that's why she summoned a Servant that could protect her at any range? "No. Nothing yet, at least. But they're starting to assemble. We should probably get ready to go out there to scope out the opposition soon and keep them from noticing this place for a while," Archer replied as she looked back out over the city.

Lumina set a bookmark and closed the large book in her lap as she looked up at her Servant. "You're worried about the protections, I see," she replied as she stretched a little. "True, against something of Servant Level, it's barely more then a detection border. But it's safer here then you think, Archer," she replied confidently as Archer raised an Eyebrow, but said nothing as Lumina stood and placed the book on the table next to her. "Let's wait a bit longer before jumping out there, Archer. But we'll go soon enough." With that, she walked into the bathroom as Archer returned to watching the city.
