Re: .hack//LINK Unofficial Fan Translation Project
Keep up the great work. I've just been sucked back into the dot hack world. I can't wait till you guys finish this. Do you guys have a donation page. I know doing things like this aren't free, and it's be nice to compensate everyone that has worked on this project.
Re: .hack//LINK Unofficial Fan Translation Project
Hi. First of all, I would like to thank you for what you are doing. You are my heroes, thank you very much!
I would like to know, do you plan on uploading the scenes that weren't included in the video?

Re: .hack//LINK Unofficial Fan Translation Project
We're looking at how to distribute the patch right now. It should be pretty soon. I would keep an eye on JunBansyoya's blog (google "Hello Toaster"), for the latest information.
Thanks, but we don't believe in accepting donations. Just make sure to buy the game. Without getting into too much detail, it looks like CC2 might be open to making another installment, so every purchase of the (insanely cheap) "The Best" version probably helps that happen.TheAstroCreep wrote:Keep up the great work. Sweet mother of Corbenik it's a video question! I think it's the first one, too. Our hope is that as the patch comes out people will make videos. Our goal with the video project was to have a self-contained summary that covered the story. It'll be cool to see more scenes come out on Youtube, but Link is a very long game so this isn't something we're planning on doing. (unless someone wants to join the project exclusively to capture and upload footage)AILiSeki wrote:I would like to know, do you plan on uploading the scenes that weren't included in the video?

I might go ahead and do a Let's Play of the game, if that's kind of what you were looking for. I'd have to buy new cables for it since my capture card went out a while ago, but if you want, I could look in to it.Kuukai wrote:(unless someone wants to join the project exclusively to capture and upload footage)

Please don't kill my server, but there may be something interesting posted.
Re: .hack//LINK Unofficial Fan Translation Project
Awesome! I've been following this thing forever and I'm glad something playable is finally released. I'm having some trouble though. =[ I got to the part where I'm supposed to enter "java -jar dothack.jar patch data\ patch\" into the cmd prompt but it says "Error occurred during initialization of VM java/lang/NoClassDefFoundError: java/lang/Object" I have no clue what I'm supposed to do. Any help would be greatly appreciated! =DJunBansyoya wrote:Please don't kill my server, but there may be something interesting posted.

Re: .hack//LINK Unofficial Fan Translation Project
What version of java do you have installed, it was tested using the most recent version of java 6.
Re: .hack//LINK Unofficial Fan Translation Project
Java 6, I believe. I got it to work now. =D I was dabbling around on the interwebs for help and I forgot to set the path in the environment variables. All is well now. Ha, I'm not used to using this Windows nonsense. Linux ftw.
Re: .hack//LINK Unofficial Fan Translation Project
You'll never truly know how grateful I am.
So... At least I can make a little thing for you. I can mirror the patch if you want me to, I got that little server with my blog on it and, well, let's say that it got enough place to let you crash
EDIT: I should have done something wrong... Intro is translate and all, but when I get to the discussion with Kite everything's still in Japanese... Gotta redo everything
EDIT2: Can't pass this problem on my own... All that I can tell you is that I run Windows 7 64bit, 'cause I've got all the rest right: Java 6, UMDGen 3.50... Nothing seems wrong when I do all you ask, not even a single error message so... Little stuck ^^

Re: .hack//LINK Unofficial Fan Translation Project
Not everything is translated in this patch. All of the cutscenes are translated along with many of the items but pretty much all of the conversations aren't so you'd probably have to rely on the videos for some of those or wait until the next version of the patch. The translation's still a long ways off but what we got now is great. I'm definitely grateful for everyone's hard work and time spent on this project. Can't wait until the next patch. =]OtaXou wrote:You'll never truly know how grateful I am.

Re: .hack//LINK Unofficial Fan Translation Project
Is there dialogue in the video that isn't in the patch? That's probably an oops that we can fix.
In my mind this is Terror Infection Trommel, and any redo would be Terror Infection Big T.

Re: .hack//LINK Unofficial Fan Translation Project
Yeah, I'm not sure about the first half of the game but there were loads of dialogue toward the end that were absent from the patch but in the video. I was wondering why pretty much all of the conversations were still in Japanese. =/ Not too big of a deal though.
Re: .hack//LINK Unofficial Fan Translation Project
That's why I thought it was anormal... It's the first dialogue, the intro, which is translated in the video when Kite appears for the first time. That's why I thought it was an "oops" ^^Kuukai wrote:Is there dialogue in the video that isn't in the patch? That's probably an oops that we can fix.

Re: .hack//LINK Unofficial Fan Translation Project
where can i find the patch ?
Re: .hack//LINK Unofficial Fan Translation Project
Wondering if you guys need any help translating some of the more minor stuff? I started to translate some of the strings on my own and I just finished the minor PC name list along with some of the monsters, objects, and menu items. If you need any more help translating the smaller things just let me know.
Google "Hello Toaster" and it should be the third link from the top of the page.Infinity wrote:where can i find the patch ?

Re: .hack//LINK Unofficial Fan Translation Project
Congrats guys! I know lots of hard work went into this. I am feeling comfortable advertising this more officially - a shout out on our Facebook page. Jun/Kuukai, let me know if you have any objections.
Re: .hack//LINK Unofficial Fan Translation Project
Awesome, that would be great. But you might want to wait a little bit--right now we're working to redo the first version, by accident it doesn't have a lot of what we wanted to include. It mainly just has the manga cutscenes. So we're trying to get everything added back in, repost it, and we'll keep everyone up to date here.
