First off, Kenma isn't really working on his patch anymore.
And second, I think he said somewhere that he changed his mind about a full translation, and just did a menu patch

Good news! We're moving things around internally and I think we'll be able to pick up speed and post more in the near future. So no, we haven't forgotten about this.

Hi,

Sorry to bother you while you're probably busy with all that work, but is there any news for the planning/road-map displayed on the first post ?
I suppose the "Terror Infection" patch is the one being delayed, isn't it ?

Anyway, good luck d(^_~ )

We were having some trouble, but Jun pulled it off and completed the patcher literally this week. We're moving into testing, and then we'll throw what we have out there. Yes, this is the 1st version, Terror Infection, but since the patcher's done now we won't have have these kinds of technical difficulties again. And hey, it's still less than a year late. In terms of fan or game projects that's not terrible.

The important thing to remember though is that we're going the unconventional route and translating what's important, not what's easy or first in the game. So this will be like an interactive version of the video. You'll understand the main plot. The cool thing is that we translated 100% of the manga cutscenes, most of which weren't included in the video. The main caveat right now is that some of the things explained via text-narration-set-to-SIGN-music that we edited into the video aren't translated in the patch, but the emails/cutscenes/etc. relating to that information will be a major goal for version 2, in addition to plenty of other fun stuff. And we hope to kick that out by end of the year as promised ("2012").

I updated the roadmap and we might be able to beat it. The goal is to get something out there that's better than playing it in Japanese, and then improve it.

Thank you for the update on the progress.
I think I will wait for the more "complete" Mirage Mutation patch since I like the dot hack series not just for its main plot (we'll see if I can manage to hold back on playing the v0.1 ^__^).

Courage !

There was nothing wrong with Sch@dows' preceding post, but I deleted it just so people don't get confused by the number.

It's really hard to give a percentage. We have 100% of the manga-style cutscenes but that's a very small fraction of the game. It's easy to get this confused with Kenma's patch, which did release numbers, but those numbers were mainly for item lists, etc., and more for "there's English there" than "it's been proofread." Also we're focusing on things that will help someone play and understand the game. It's a very long game--we could translate 90% and you wouldn't understand who AIKA is or we can translate 10% and you get the gist of the story. Whatever the percentage is, you should be able to get the story more or less.

Sorry for the ironic answer (Barney Stinson quotation ... but would have been fun if it was really understood literally).
It just seemed to me that the answer was obvious as suggested in lot of your posts and your recent updates.
I will be a good boy from now on d(^_~ )
