Asher's lips met skin, but not quite what he was expecting. Ember's other hand had interposed itself between them, much to the ghost's approval. "I don't put my lips to a guy's on the first date, chaperone or not, unless he needs CPR. Short as I know life is, I've spent too much time around ghosts with old fashioned values." She leaned away and smiled at him, she kept a hand on his. "On the upside, you didn't do anything stupid so you're still getting that second date, if you want it."

Re: -Of Sinners and Saints-
'Smooth,' Asher thought to himself as a blush crept onto his cheeks. 'I really need to get home and get some sleep. Today's been way too long....'
"Forgive me," he finally replied, clearing his throat to try to knock away the blush some. "I guess my sleep deprivation is getting the best of my reasoning skills..." The waitress re-appeared and left the check on Asher's side, taking the plates while he got his card ready. When she returned, she took the check and Asher's debit card and left them alone yet again. "As for a second date, I would love to if you truly decide you want to see me again after a nice night's sleep."
'God knows I need one of those...'
"But I won't hold it against you if after resting you decide that I'm a rude and crazy detective that you never hope to see again in your life," he finished just as the waitress returned with his card. Asher tipped her handsomely and looked to Ember as he stood, offering his hand to her. "Are you ready to head home now, Ms. Darklight? I believe I've kept you out long enough for the evening."

Ember took his hand and stood. "I didn't say I didn't want to, just that I wouldn't." When they were idling outside her apartment Ember squeezed Asher's hand. "Not a bad first date." Then she looked at his hand, alarm on her face she looked up at him. "Stay calm Asher. I need to check something." She put a hand on his throat and pulled him into the kiss he.haf tried to give her earlier. "That was a close call. It would be bad if you suffered another attack and I wasn't around." She hopped out of the car and looked at him through the open door. "Straight home and go directly to bed. Doctor's orders." Ember closed the door and chatted happily with a ghost on the short walk to her apartment.
Asher's dashboard lights died suddenly and a disgruntled burst of air messed his hair up as Ember had turned and closed the door.

Re: -Of Sinners and Saints-
((Massive text wall ahead. Sorry guys. ^^" I tried to get us all on the same day with it, though. I think I got it settled. The gist of it all is this: Asher goes home and sleeps, Rei has a nightmare, wakes up and cooks breakfast, then talks to Asher about the previous night.))
"Sorry, Robin," Asher whispered, his eyes never leaving Ember as she walked away from the car. "But that one wasn't my fault." He didn't even bother trying to fix his hair, but he did as she had instructed; He headed straight home. He made a slight detour from going straight to bed, but felt a shower couldn't hurt. Fifteen minutes later, he was crawling into bed, the events of the night replaying through his head. 'Could have gone better for sure, but could have been worse by far...' he thought with a smirk before drifting to sleep.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Do you truly think you’re so powerful, Executioner?” a familiar female voice called somewhere from the dark alleyway. Rei flicked her gaze around frantically, her guns creating a familiar weight in her hands. “We’ve marked you. We’ve scared and scarred you. You can have all the help you want, but in the end they will die, the same as you. We might even allow you the joy of watching as we kill everyone you care for slowly and painfully. What do you think of that, Executioner?”
Rei bit back a curse and continued to look around, searching every dark shadow for the woman. She felt a cold shiver run up her spine and quickly flicked the safety of her guns off. “You won’t touch them,” she whispered, turning just as a body flew into her. One of the pistols was knocked from her hand in the impact but she clutched onto the other with enough force to turn her knuckles white. A female body struggled to climb on top of her, clawing at her skin in the process. Several thin lines of blood began to spring up on her bare skin. “Say goodnight, Executioner,” the vampire said with a smirk before reaching for Rei’s throat, slicing her nails straight across with a deep chuckle.
Rei awoke immediately, her free hand going to her throat on instinct alone. ’Just a dream…’ she thought, checking her surroundings as she did. She was in her guest room and a slight weight lay in her lap. Kazuto. 'Just a dream...'
She managed to crawl out of bed without waking Kazuto, covering him up before she left the room. She cracked the door behind her and went across the hall to her own room, where she grabbed a change of clothes and headed straight to the shower. Now that she was somewhat rested and clean she could focus on what time it was. The clock on the bathroom wall read eleven thirty am. Not too bad especially since she had been out until dawn. Rei needed to do something to keep her mind off her dream and remembered her promise to make breakfast as soon as she finished picking up the bathroom. That would do it.
The classic breakfast seemed like a safe idea considering she didn't really know what kind of food Kazuto liked yet, so she found some frozen bacon and sausage and began cooking those. She could throw a few eggs on to cook when the rest of the food was closer to being done and call it good. Simple enough, yet it served it's purpose. No thoughts of her dream, or any vampire aside from Kazuto, entered her thoughts.
-------------------------------------------
A few repetitive beeps went off at eleven am, waking Asher from a peaceful sleep. He reached over and shut off the alarm, but rolled back over afterword. He didn't have to get up today, so there was no need to jump up and get ready. 'I should call Rei soon and make sure she's okay. She looked fine last night, but still... My mind was a little jumbled last night.' He decided to give her a little while longer to sleep before he called, deciding to call her closer to twelve when he decided to get up.
-------------------------------------------
The phone in her pocket slightly startled Rei, who was almost done cooking her and Kazuto's brunch. Asher's name showed on the screen, so she answered before the fourth ring could begin. "Hey, Asher."
"Hey," he replied with a light yawn.
"You're still in bed? No way. Did your date keep you out that late, old man?"
"I was up later than you I bet, and besides, you sleep in all the time. I deserve a break every now and then..."
"So your date was fun?"
"I messed up a lot, but yeah," he replied a little hesitantly. Embarrassment was clear in his tone.
"I bet you did okay," Rei added in support. She finally put on the eggs and began setting the small dinning room table for two. "But I'm glad you had fun. I like her, Ash."
"Me too.. Anyway, did you see Kazuto after you left the scene? You seemed in a rush, and I got the impression that it wasn't just you bring cranky."
"Me? Cranky? Never," Rei replied with a laugh. She went back to the eggs and tended to them a little. The food was almost done. "But if you must know, yes, I did. I was also surprised by Jason last night too."
"Jason? What did he want?"
"Same as usual. Catch up, act like Jason for a bit, ask me to help with a case, you know." Asher fell quiet for a moment, sighing moments later to break the silence.
"So it's a big case?"
"I'll fill you in later. I'm actually about to eat." She finished setting the table and looked at the spread as a whole, smiling to herself as she did.
"Yeah, just call me later. Be safe, Rei."
"You too. Talk to you later, Ash."
"Bye."
She lowered the phone and put it in her pocket again, her attention still on the food before her. 'I guess I should wake Kazuto now. He said he had plans later, after all...'

Ember had a lot to do to appease Robin before the elemental would finally let her rest. And even then she couldn't get to sleep, the sun was still down after all so she lied on her futon and pat Robin while thinking about Asher and what she would wear next time. "She's going to get me to wear one of her stupid dresses, isn't she?" Robin confirmed her fears with a yawn.
--------------
Jessabell awoke to an annoying sun and gave mother one last farewell before stumbling out into the light and taking flight lazily. Half of it was she was being lazy and the other half of her was swollen and bruised. Jess ended up landing early in the afternoon at Ember's place. She needed her bracers back and she wanted to hear about the date. Unfortunately, she didn't make it all the way up to the door, in fact she collapsed in the bed of Ember's truck. In her full dragon form she made the vehicle sag so much that the rear bumper was touching the ground.

Re: -Of Sinners and Saints-
Rei turned around as she heard Kazuto enter the kitchen, his words lighting a small smile on her face. "Save your compliments until you actually try the food. It's been awhile since I've cooked for anyone else, so I hope it's alright," she replied with a light laugh. Everything was now on the table, so Kazuto had entered at the perfect time. "Help yourself to whatever you want, and if you need anything else either ask or feel free to search for yourself. I don't really know what kind of food you like yet, so I figured that going with a classic would be a safe bet."
As soon as Rei took a seat at the table a loud series of knocks echoed from the door. It was a distinct pattern of knocks, though Kazuto probably wouldn't pick up on it. 'Really?' she thought with a sigh, standing once again. "I'm sorry. I have to get that. Go ahead and eat if you want, Kazuto. I should be right back," she said with a regretful expression replacing her smile. Rei went to the door and opened it, not bothering with checking through the peephole. She knew exactly who it was.
"What did you find, Jason?" she asked before she could even see him. A smirk lit his face as Rei appeared in the doorway.
"I'm glad to see I didn't wake you," he said as he stepped inside, closing the door for Rei as he did. "And why is it that you always assume I'm here for work and never to spend time with you?"
"Because I know you, Jason. That, and you said you would contact me when you found out more about the vampire. This is a more direct contact than I expected, but it's contact nonetheless." Jason laughed and shook his head in reply. He seemed oddly lighthearted to be here about an execution, which made Rei begin to question his true motives.
"I suppose you're right. Yes, this is about the vampire. I have a lot to explain, and I can tell you've been cooking. Would you mind if we took a seat while I explain?" he asked, turning toward the kitchen. There was easily enough food for him to eat, but Rei had intended for it to be for Kazuto and her alone. She sighed, but nodded.
"Alright, Jason.." As they entered the kitchen again, Rei glanced at Kazuto, hoping to apologize with her eyes. "Is everything alright, Kazuto?" she asked as Jason reached into the cabinets, taking a plate down for himself. He knew her kitchen as well as she did, and he had only stayed twice before.

Rei smiled as she sat down again, a light pink hinting on her cheeks. "I'm glad you like it." Jason sat down next and began fixing a plate of his own, nodding in approval as he took his first bite.
"You two are planning really late and really early dates, I notice," Jason added in between bites with a knowing smirk in Rei's direction. Her cheeks grew darker, but she ignored the comment and fixed a plate for herself.
"So what did you find out, Jason? You weren't gone very long, so either you managed to find some contacts here that know about things I don't about a new group forming, or you went exploring by yourself last night. You're sitting here, so I feel it's safe to assume it wasn't too much of the later choice..."
"She knows me too well. It's almost a little scary," Jason whispered in Kazuto's direction, though Rei could easily hear him. She kicked his shin under the table and with a laugh, he answered her question. "Yes, I did ask around about her. Turns out that not many of the underground neogenes around here like her, though many already fear her enough to not talk. I think I know what she's planning, but for all we know it could be a decoy set up by a pawn of hers. If what I was told is correct, however, we will need some serious fire power." Rei's blush had faded as soon as he began speaking, but this stopped her mid-bite. She lowered her fork to her plate and watched as Jason continued to eat as if they weren't discussing another execution.
"Fire power? Jason, you and I could fight a war single-handedly with all the weapons we have."
"Speaking of which, I have a new toy for you at my apartment, but I mean another type of fire power, sweetheart," Jason replied with a soft chuckle. "We'll need a neogene or two. Ones that we can trust at our back. I'm thinking it would be best to not to take three vampires, though. No offense Kazuto."

Kazuto: Hm?...( he finishes eating as he stays out of the the conversation until he's brought up) you don't need 3 vampires truth be told I don't get along with any In these city well atleAst not enough to have them watch my back ( after he sits back down when he cleans off his plate and places it in the sink) besides most vampires would probablly not want to help out i hunters I don't blame you for not wanting to take more than just me ( he sits down)

Re: -Of Sinners and Saints-
"Good," Jason added as he finished his own plate of food. "That works out for us. I didn't want three because I don't know any I trust here either, and if we were to take someone we don't trust, who's to say they aren't working for her? I'm thinking we need a few neogenes that could really back us up should we need it too. I'm thinking dragons. Do either of you know any dragons we could ask to help?"
"I only really know two dragons," Rei replied, her plate empty now as well. All of the food had been eaten, thankfully, so cleaning up would be a lot easier. "One of them I trust with my life. You met her the other night Kazuto. Jessabell Rainstone Larfleeze. The other one on the other hand... Well, let's just say that he's the reason I was so late last night. He's a stuck up prick, and to be honest with you, I think he hates me about as much as I hate him right now, so he'd probably let me get ripped apart bit by bit by twelve ancients and not help me, if he even bothered dirtying his claws to come help." Jason burst out laughing as she finished, wiping an actual tear from the corner of his eye before he replied.
"Rei? Make enemies with someone? Never.... I bet the guy wasn't even that bad. You just wanted to get back to your date, and you rubbed him the wrong way."
"Screw you, Jason. Like I told Asher earlier, yes I have my moments, but last night was not one of them. That guy has serious pride issues, even for a dragon. I bet you one thousand dollars right here and now that if Kierran could have met him, Jason, he would have regretted having an affinity for dragons. You knew him just as well as I did, so if you even meet this guy, you'll be able to tell me if I'm lying." Rei extended her hand to Jason, her expression somewhat smug as she met his gaze. "Do we have a bet?"
"Deal." Jason took her hand in his and shook, his own expression relaxed. "Anyway, ask your friend as soon as you can and if push comes to shove, we can ask..."
"Delano. Cole Delano," Rei replied blandly.
"We can ask Mr. Delano then. Know of any djinn we could ask, just in case Mr. Delano declines our offer?" Rei rolled her eyes and cradled her forehead in her hands on the table.
"The lovely Mr. Delano owns a brothel with at least one djinn. If you want to be around that man long enough to ask to borrow her, feel free, but I'm not doing it. I can't handle him that long, Jason." It was Jason's turn to roll his eyes.
"We'll go visit them later, but you'll have to be on your best behavior Rei. Understand? If we could go in with two dragons, a vampire, and a djinn, there's no way she could get away, army of ancients or not. It would be the perfect setup."

Re: -Of Sinners and Saints-
"A shifter?" Jason asked, suddenly excited. "That would be an interesting addition to our little hunt as well." Rei shook her head and stood, taking both her and Jason's dishes to the sink. She began to wash the dishes with her back turned to the guys.
"You don't have to ask him to help if you don't want to Kazuto. It's probably going to be pretty dangerous, and I'd hate for one of your friends to get hurt trying to help us out. I can hold myself back enough to speak to 'Mr. Delano' about joining us if Jason thinks we should go in with some heavier help. Jess will most likely help, and I can have Asher get us access to some bigger guns as well."
"No need to!" Jason called happily, joining Rei at the sink. He began rinsing as she washed, all the while flashing a huge grin. "I thought you knew me, Rei. You hurt me by insinuating that your brother can get you better guns than I can."
"His would at least be legal, Jason," Rei replied, rolling her eyes once more.
"But mine are more fun. Also, since when do you care about legal guns? Illegal doesn't stop you from having that Desert Eagle stashed in your nightstand's bottom drawer, does it?" Rei instantly froze, the plate in her hand falling back into the sink with a splash. Silence enveloped the kitchen for what felt like hours before she spoke, shattering it with a tone that sent chills down the spine.
"You, Jason Richter, gave that to me as a gift after what was possibly the worst hunt I have ever been on. You know more than anyone that I keep that solely in case I get assigned a similar hunt, as I have never feared for my life more than I did that night. If it wasn't for that, I wouldn't have it. Now, if you want to continue to have my help on this case, you will go into the living room and give me a minute away from you. If not, then you know where the door is. Lock it on your way out." She finally looked his way with eyes like knives. He sat down the dish in his hand and turned, walking into the living room as instructed. Rei avoided looking at Kazuto as Jason left and quickly returned her gaze to the sink, allowing silence to enter the room once more.

Re: -Of Sinners and Saints-
It seemed that the confrontation outside was calming down as one of the dragons came towards her location. "It's alright now, Master Delano requests that you head back to his residence for now." She took a look towards where the other people were, heading into the limousine. She looked at the buildings as they passed as she asked a question.
"Am I to head to work tonight?" She asked softly, her hands in her lap.
"Master Delano believes it would be best to stay at his house until the situation with the Lotis brothel is taken care of. Right now, it is too dangerous to be left unescorted."
"I understand," She answered, her eyes closing.
----
"I'm telling you that her priorities are not based on lineage." Cole spoke, standing up from the table. "Until you can calm that infamous anger of yours, I will be keeping her from your prying eyes."
"I see, so you believe it is right to keep my daughter away?"
"You saw to that yourself, Adil Lotis." He exited the room with his eyes blazing. It was hard to keep his anger from coming out among a fellow businessman.

Kazuto: I'm sure he'd be okay he's just lazy is all he likes to avoid trouble but I figure there's no harm in asking he can handle himself but if you really want to talk with this Delano fellow if your truly feeling like you can thence guess we can go ask him but ( after her out burst Kazuto instinctively walked over to her) rei you okay? ( he looked at her though felt upset she was avoiding g his gaze)

"I'm fine," Rei replied with a sigh, pulling her hands out of the soapy water. She dried them on the front of her jeans and turned around, leaning against the counter with her arms crossed around her waist. "I'm sorry you saw that, Kazuto. He just... He just pushed a button he shouldn't have, knowing that it would bother me. Jason and Kierran are honestly the only reason I'm here right now regarding that night, so it's kind of a tender topic for me. Jason knows I don't approve of him using illegal guns, but he's right; I do make that one exception..." She sighed and finally met Kazuto's gaze. "Asher doesn't know, though. He'd be furious. Anyway, I'm sorry again. I'm fine now."
"If your friend would be willing to go along, it might not be a bad plan to ask just in case," Jason called, his body pressed against the open doorway's frame. "We should ask this Delano guy, though, Rei. If he's as connected as I suspect, he may be able to help us without actually going in with us. It solves both problems; You won't have to worry about him not watching your back and we get useful information anyway."
"Did I tell you that you could come back yet, Jason?" Rei asked, tightening her arms around her waist. She made a point not to look at him on purpose. He walked in with a smile on his lips anyway and pulled her into a tight embrace, kissing the top of her head gently, whispering "Je suis désolé, ma chérie..."
"Non, vous ne le sont pas," Rei replied, although she couldn't help but smile a little. "Now get off of me, you creep." He did as he was asked and backed off.
"So, are we going to plan to speak to Mr. Delano today, or should we wait and try to talk to your friends first?"

"He's not old enough to be an original immigrant is he, Rei? I'd hate to be speaking French in front of him if so," Jason asked after Kazuto tried to change the topic. He laughed lightly, but was honestly curious.
"No, Jason, not that it's any of your business. But just to be sure, you shouldn't use your French anyway. You sound smooth with about...two sentences in the entire language, and that's because they're meant to be pick up lines. The rest is a tad too choppy for my taste."
"Excusez-moi, Mademoiselle Delacriox. My family is German, unlike yours. Anyway, back on point, shall we go and ask your friends now, or no?"

"Alright then. I'll call Asher and see if he can try to get in touch with Jess for me on the way there. He should be going by the office later, if I'm not mistaken, and if not his new girlfriend is apparently really close to Jess as well. One way or another, he should be able to get in touch with her and hopefully convince her to help us. If not, I guess we can go by and ask Mr. Delano about helping us and/or suggest someone that can for us." Jason nodded and turned, leading the way to the door.
"I can drive us, unless it would be easier for me to go and get your bike for you, Kazuto," Jason said as he opened the door. His midnight blue Jeep Wrangler was parked next to Rei's car outside.
"If you care about that bike at all, don't let him get it for you. Jason's been known to tear up a few in the short while I've known him..." Rei whispered to Kazuto as soon as Jason was outside.
"I heard that, and it's only been three, Rei. While on hunts, I might add." Rei shook her head where Kazuto would see and followed Jason outside.
