Re: To Aru Majutsu no Index
Brink looked up at her, confused. "Cook?" He looked from side to side, "Uh, no. We have an in house chef. I understand the basic principles, combine ingredients and add heat, but I've never actually cooked anything. Don't you have someone to do that for you?"

Re: To Aru Majutsu no Index
Kurushimi sighed. But in truth, she wasn't all that shocked since he was from a huge, rich-born family from the sound of it. She'd simply thought that being such a fighter, he might have taken an interest in self reliability & survivability, like Lily had. "No, Brink. Most people actually don't have someone outside a mother or father to do so for them," Kurushimi replied gently to him as she heard the phone ring in the room next door to them. "Excuse me." The teleporter turned and Move-Pointed away. He could just barely hear her muffled voice as she answered and talked for a while. If was close to seven minutes or so before her Move-Pointed back, the call apparently over. "Well then, Normally, I wouldn't ask for something of monetary value, But I think I'll make an exception here. I need a new cell phone, think you can get me one tomorrow, Brink?"
Lily sighed as she closed the cellphone before hugging him tightly. Or, at least, as tightly as she could with one completely functional arm. "Thank Zorlo. You're the best!" she replied to him. She made a note to herself to get her arm checked out later. "It's alright though. I can for give you for the phone, especially since you replaced it. So, what did you want to talk about, Zorlo?"

Re: To Aru Majutsu no Index
A lot of people figured he was pretty self-reliant given he was the captain of the martial arts club and was capable of holding his own against espers without using his own ability and they weren't necessarily wrong, but that was mostly first aid, cooking had just never come up. But Brink had taken the opportunity to call the family chef while Kurushimi was on the phone and had gotten a basic recipe. When she came back in he shrugged, "Sure thing. I need to practice tomorrow afternoon, so can we go in the evening? Also, do you still want me to cook something or is the phone in place of that?"
Re: To Aru Majutsu no Index
Zorlo laughed as he handed her a can of soda he had picked up from the vending machine while she had been on the phone. "Well, I do believe it is time we talk about our promise," he said. It had been nearly a year to that day the two had met in the complicated events that made them friends. "Well, after the events of today... in which your sister saved my life... I am obliged to tell you... I've broken up with my sword and we can be together now," he told her, smiling as he sat on the bench. "So, what do you say to that?" he asked her, smiling at her again. He'd waited six months to say that, but he finally had a chance now. Finally...

Re: To Aru Majutsu no Index
Kurushimi paused for a moment at Brink's question. Something was different. In that short a span, he'd changed. "You ask as if you suddenly know how to cook. Maybe....?" The girl chuckled suddenly. "Perhaps not.... Nah, you need not cook.I'll do so as planned, so you need but relax here. We can go for the phone at your earliest convenience tomorrow, provided I'm not rushing yo to the hospital once more," she finished as she turned. "Oh, one more thing. I may or may not have said it, but you'll be sleeping in here for tonight." with that, she teleported.
Lily's answer was for her arms to hug him around the neck & shoulders as she planted a kiss on him over and over before laughing. "Ahh... I was wondering when you were going to give up that pretense!" she said before pausing to look at her right arm. It still hurt like hell, but she could move it again at least. Huh...that happened... she thought for a moment before smiling again. "I'm happy today. Even with a messed up arm, today hasn't been too bad."

"I'd sure as hell hope not!" Zorlo called back as the winds blew past them. "After all, now that you're my girlfriend, you no longer have a reason to get all mad when I'm not around. Now you can wait happily instead of frustratedly," Zorlo joked with her as the two sped across the city. After a few more moments, they were in front of her house. "Well, we're here. So... what do you want to do?" the green-haired man asked as he brushed his hair from his eyes to the side and knelt down, letting her slide off. "I mean, now that I've met one of your sisters, perhaps its time I meet your whole family, ya?"
Re: To Aru Majutsu no Index
Brink asked the now empty room, "Well yeah, this is the guest room. Where else would I sleep?" He went red as a thought struck him. "And what do you mean by as planned!" He took a deep breath and, after composing himself, he stood up, still a little shaky, and began exploring the house. Or at least the first floor, he wasn't too keen on having to defend himself just now. Brink was a little surprised to find a piano. "I wonder if anyone here plays regularly." There wasn't much else to do so he sat, but before he could start playing he got a phone call. "Hello? You're where? How? Okay, yeah, just give me a moment."
Brink found his way to the front door and his legs nearly buckled as a large bag full of foodstuffs was shoved into his hands. "Gerard, what are you doing here?" "Your father was about to come down here himself when he overheard my side of our conversation. And he decided that if you were going to be cooking for somebody you should do so properly. So he sent me. He also said to make sure you have no regrets because the next time he sees you he is going to kill you. I have your swords in the car." Gerard seemed to know exactly where the kitchen was, despite never being in the house before. A chef's talent Brink thought to himself as he washed up and listened to exactly what Gerard was going to be assisting him in making. The way the chef said assist made Brink think that he really would only be there to provide the young swordsman with guidance, a thought that he somehow found more frightening than facing his father.

Lily smiled. "No I'll still get mad, I just have a completely legitimate reason now to back it up," she replied to his statement as they arrived at her house. "Unfortunately, there's not much more to meet. Our Mom doesn't live with us here in Academy City and none of our fathers are still alive. All that's really left is our eldest sister, Mariya, whom works as a Senior Officer in Anti-Skill and as a Liaison between Judgement & Anti-Skill," Lily finished as they headed inside. The moment they came in, they found Kurushimi leaned back against a wall out of the way of Brink and Gerard, an amused look on her face as she watched and listened. "Oh, hey sis! What's up?" Lily greeted her sister as she walked in to see Brink & Gerard. "...we have cooks now...?"
That got a good laugh from the platinum-haired girl. "No, no. We have a guest that has a cook. One that's nice enough to help him cook for others, it seems, when his Father isn't attempting to murder him, at least," Kurushimi replied in her normal manner that made it hard for some to know if she was joking or not. "I see you brought a familiar guest with you as well, Lily. Oh, by the way, I got in touch with Mariya. She'll be home earlier if things hold out. Maybe even early enough for dinner tonight."

Gerard left Brink to finish the final preparations while the actual chef set the table. Surprising himself, Brink did not start a fire unintentionally, nor burn anything while Gerard was gone and when he returned all that was left was the plating which Gerard nixed, surprising Brink yet again that day. They placed two large pots filled with vegetables and sauce on the table one had beef strips mixed in and the other shrimp. There were also two large bowls of rice. The chefs stepped out into the hallway with everyone. "Uh, Kurushi-ow!" Gerard had stepped on Brink's foot and leaned in whispering something. "Really Gerard? Fine. *cough* Ahem, Mistresses Kurushimi and Lilly and Master Stephen, dinner is served. We have mongolian beef and garlic shrimp. If you will follow us." Brink pulled the seat out for Kurushimi and Gerard for Lilly and Zorlo. "Gerard was kind enough to bring both wine and sake if any of you would like some as well. Before letting him sit, Gerard made Brink serve the food while he poured. All in all Brink was finding being the servant an interesting experience. Not one he would want to relive on a regular basis, but it did give him a new perspective.
Re: To Aru Majutsu no Index
For the first time in a while, Zorlo's true name had been raised. "God dammit. Please refrain from using that name... I abandoned it a few years ago. Call me Zorlo. The only reason I even KEEP that name is that my school forces me to use my full name and not just the name I've chosen for myself," the green haired man said with a sigh. "And I also hate the fact the schools share their information. ANd now Lily knows," Z muttered as he recalled something rather important. "Although, I guess it wasn't hard to find, I was supposed to change to your school, but it fell through, although I hear they had me in a number of class rosters for a few weeks. You must have been in one."
The swordsman thought for a moment as he crossed his arms and sighed. Zorlo looked at Gerard and Brink and bowed his head. "However, thank you. Still, call me Zorlo, no master, mister, or any of that crap. And never... EVER... use my real name again," the green-haired man said as he waited for Lily to take her seat. "Anyway, Kurushimi, thank you for saving me earlier, and Lily thanks you too, I'm sure," Zorlo stated with a smile.
The green haired man thought for a moment before he lowered his eyes and then rose them to meet Lily's. "Anyway, Lily, what're we gonna watch tonight? I forget where we left off in our last anime expenditure," he told her, smiling. Great day indeed.

Lily smiled, thanking Gerard for pulling out her seat and for the drink. Kurushimi did the same for Brink. "Yes, I already knew your name, Zorlo. I ran your face through the Judgement database after we first met since you became a part of my report that day," Lily replied to him, looking over the food and minding not to drool. It's smelled good. "Say, Sis, were you joking about his father trying to kill him?"
Kurushimi shook her head. "Not likely, seeing as I had to escape from him with Brink earlier. Which reminds me, I'm still holding you to our agreement of a new phone tomorrow, Brink. Preferably before you get killed," the silver-haired girl said as a woman with long, violet hair entered the room from the front hallway.
"So... who's getting killed? And who cooked all of this...?" she asked as she set her bag on the floor near the counter.
"Mariya, you made it!" cried Lily as she jumped up to hug her big sister. Though Kurushimi came over far less hyper-actively, she hugged the young woman on less lovingly.
"Yes, fortunately." Mariya looked to Zorlo, Brink, and Gerard in that order. "I recognize Step- Zorlo, but I don't believe I'm familiar with the two of you. I'm Mariya Nanaya, the eldest of us three sisters. And you are?"

Re: To Aru Majutsu no Index
Brink shrugged at Zorlo's statement, "No, if you were registered in one of my classes you were not listed as someone I should be familiar with and thus I would have payed it no mind. Gerard simply insisted that I use it." "Master Brink's father informed me. You were listed as a person of interest in connection to Miss Lily."
Brink and Gerard stood automatically as Mariya entered. Brink walked over and shook her hand, "I'm Brink Mirumoto and this is Gerard, my family's head chef. We prepared dinner." "Pardon me, Master Brink, Zorlo, ladies. I will return with your swords, it would be inconvenent if we forgot them in the car." "Of course, Gerard." Brink pulled out a chair for the eldest sister while going over what food and drink was available. Finally he sat back down around the time Gerard returned, setting a pair of katana down behind Brink.
"Right, to answer your question, Mariya, there is no chance of my father killing me tomorrow afternoon because I am a man of my word and so will be with Kurushimi purchasing a phone for her tomorrow evening." Said Brink smiling at Kurushimi. Gerard couldn't help but smile at Brink's reasoning, it wasn't that Brink would break a promise it's just that it was so obvious what the real reason he was so determined to see Kurushimi the next day was.
Gerard noticed Brink looking at all of the food that was still left with a slightly confused expression. "Don't worry, Master Brink, there will simply be plenty of leftovers for everyone." "Left-what?" Gerard couldn't help but laugh at that. Give him a blade and the boy could perform a symphony, but his common sense was somewhat lacking. "Leftovers, it can be reheated and eaten at a later time." "Oh o k." Said Brink, although his expression made it clear that he still didn't understand the concept.

Re: To Aru Majutsu no Index
"Seriously, after all the work I did to try and leave that name behind, it keeps following me everywhere I go," Zorlo complained with a sigh. It had, in fact, been three years ago he had abandoned that name. Why wasn't up for discussion at the moment, but he knew every time he heard it that it made him angry. "Wait, does everyone here have a file on me, and if so, why?" he asked, his eyebrows twitching slightly in annoyance. The green haired man simply took a long, deep breath and sighed. "Sorry for my outbursts," he stated, eating his food quietly.
He could not remain quiet for long as his eyes shifted to Mariya. "I think we met once in passing, miss. It is... good to see you." As Zorlo continued to eat and looked at the food on the table, he couldn't help but feel a little overwhelmed, and the fact he was still overdressed didn't help either. Come to think of it... he said as his eyes shifted to Lily. "Lily... do you still have that bag of clothing I left here?" Zorlo asked her as he smiled at her. He couldn't recall if he left it here, or had simply forgotten it elsewhere.
