From what I've read, TOKYPOPs offices that produce manga for European countries, etc (and Australia) remain open. Vol 4 came out around a month ago, right around the time TOKYOPOP starting closing down their office in the U.S. Hopefully we'll be able to get Quantum+ in English somewhere!

Oh lol I didn't know they had an office for European countries ><" I thought we just imported them from America (well at least my comic book store). Yeah I really do hope we get Quantum+ in English AND the Link manga back in production =(

Well. A whole bunch of my grievances toward Tokyopop have just been lifted.

So what would be the best (edit: excuse me, I mean reliable) place to buy from? And what would be the cheapest? (I'm inquiring about two things here; one link doesn't have to be both)

The place provided by azureg seems like a fair deal, but I'm wondering if there are any places that are better.

All I know is that it certainly wouldn't be Amazon. My God.

Only place that still has a copy is amazon.com for $98, i'm assuming someone bought the $88 copy and then the seller inflated the price for this one :/

I placed an order with King's Comics a couple weeks ago, but wasnt charged for it and havent heard anything more about it. I've tried contacting them again

I've also tried ordering from http://www.seekbooks.com.au/featuredboo ... 1427815255. also Overstock.com claims they have it in stock, but they have no pictures so cant be sure

EDIT: okay, got a reply back from King's Comics that its out of stock in their stores and not available for reorder with the publisher. so looks like we might be out of luck :(

Haven't heard of those sites, sucks that King's Comics don't have it, not sure if seekbooks.com would get any in either.

Amazon.co.uk now has one in stock but for £107.95

The only copy on Amazon's North American branch is over $300. That's ridiculous. Is the seller actually selling multiple copies, but selling them one at a time and increasing price upon each successful sell? >.o

First copy they had was at $88 then it jumped to $98 so i'm assuming they did jack up the price, no idea why they think someone would pay over $300 for it :/

>.> theres a copy on amazon.co.uk for 100 pound, which would be alot cheaper though seems people have bought the other copies there, thats alot of spending.

Oh for anyone looking for the novel try Rightstuf as they may have some, doesn't sound out of stock atleast.

well, the proof is in the pudding

Image

books quite a bit thicker than the other ones. i didnt think there was that much of a difference in the Japanese copies, but I just pulled them off my shelf and the last book is a lot thicker there too

@o@ and its a big pudding lol

Yup its pretty big alright, especially compared to novels 1 and 2 though 3 is quite thick aswell. ?_? any reason you have the japanese versions or is it just for your .hack collection?

Also both amazons and Rightstuf have them in stock still, either nobody is buying them or they have a fairly large quantity of them, then again I know the amazon.com seller is Rightstuf under the name shawnek.

just for collection, basically. I bought them in Japanese originally to read figuring they'd never come out here in the first place but then I realized my Japanese wasn't nearly good enough >_>

I was tempted to pick up .hack//GU novel 4 in japanese before but had eventually found it, had ordered .hack//Zero,Epitaph and Twilight 1+2, .hack//Quantum novel and .hack//Quantum Introduction (still need to order //Quantum+) since Tokyopop went down.

:p least you know some japanese,I haven't got a clue lol

Was hoping another company will pick up .hack// and localize them but just incase they don't bought what I could.

Sorry, first time poster here but I've been monitoring the thread here for a little bit.

As for the Amazon.com seller? It's quite true...I was the sorry one who went with the first $88 dollar copy before my Rightstuf.com order came through (a month or so later).

But yep, even with 2 copies, it's pretty much the same-old, same-old Tokyopop translation (errors and all and boy, are there some errors)

Anyways, just wanted to confirm that indeed, don't go with the Amazon.com seller. (Please don't. My $90 bucks cries out to you not to do it.)

Actually, the current seller on Amazon is selling at a more sane price: $15. Five dollars more than Rightstuf's price, but if you prefer to use Amazon's services for any reason, now would be the perfect time.

How bad are the errors, really? Like, bad to the point where some important details are changed? o_O

@Ralene You couldn't have known that Rightstuf would eventually get more in stock, most places I pre-ordered eventually said their suppliers wouldn't get any in. Hence why I took a deal for $50 which was all 4 novels, since the only other avaliable at the time was $50 for just novel 4 >.<

^^' ah had figured someone bought the one at $88 as the price jumped to $98. Though there wasn't really any choice since the sellers on ebay had run out of cheap copies.

The proof-reader should be fired xD ...assuming they even had one @_@''' But yeah even with its mistakes atleast we have the final novel, could be because they rushed this novel since the US branch was closing but they normally have typos anyway.

:/ i'm surprised the sellers didn't start off cheaper on amazon.com,$40 or 50 rather than $80+.
