the patches to fragment which are incomplete XD, if anyone feels like finishing them, please go ahead, im sure coldbird is out there somewhere with his digeridoo and i bet he wont mind :S.

EDIT:
I know someone said they want sound in and we have a whole dual layer dvd to burn to :) so if its voices he wants, voices he gets (someone will have to get them though). I can get you the voices for the grunties (up to mutation, where im at right now), and the voices for all of the offline party members (even if they dont have games, im sure i can get something). any image text (like battle mode on/off) i might get for you (it will be though my ps2 being run through a capture device, keep that in mind). im sure some programmer can set it up so going to online or area server gives you a message saying something like "sorry, but the servers are no longer around, and this is meant to be enjoyed in offline mode anyways :)". im sure translating most of the items, skills, commands, weapons, etc. wont be that hard since there might exist a faw containing them (if i find one ill post it).

while the grammar natzis may be after me for that paragraph, id like to see the patched finished at least.

I think you seriously underestimate how hard it would be to reintegrate voices if they're no longer part of the engine. Translating fragment might be cool, but right now I'm working on a more interesting project...

2nd this. Voice Work and any audio are one of the most heaviest things an engine can handle. Especially when it comes to voice acting for actually hiring the right voice actors, having the sound engineers get their voices right and programming that voice for whatever event or character is taking place. This is not including the games actual OST which goes well beyond that (some games like FF require full blown orchestras). There's a reason why 8 and 32 bit music are what they are.

As far as how interesting or successful is debateable. Most Japanese games, especially RPGs, are 5 years behind their western counterparts in design, concepts and playability. It would be nice to see a revamped one, but .hack is definitely a series (for its games at least) where they don't learn from their mistakes and then go 5 steps backwards in design.
