A New .hack// 3rd generation anime character design

I'm picking Aina because it seems rather obvious that they'd rehash all the other characters in the pic... I mean, Aina had a fairly minor role in G.U. and-

(Moreover, I'm not "excited" about any of them, much less the IMOQ rehashes (AGAIN). I'm just surprised that Aina's coming back (presumably).)

Personally, I'm not really excited about the anime department here, simply because all animes after //SIGN were mediocre, //GIFT being a huge exception. I seriously hope the CGI one will look promising.

I can't really say I'm too pleased about the overuse of Kite. I mean, he's a nice character, but using him too much will deteriorate his charm.

Also, I'd like to correct the "all animes after SIGN were mediocre" statement. Liminality was good too.

Shugo - Didn't mind. He wasn't my favorite character but given his role, design and time of entry of the series I didn't mind.

Tri-Edge - Love his badassness at first. Grew not to like him a little, mainly because of the fans and people recognizing him over Kite. But then reflecting at his purpose, design and everything else I liked him again.

Sora - LOVE. So far anyways. The design, personality, entry of the series. Everything.


This one - Um.. don't want to make any quick judgements, but don't really like the design or feel from this first impression, and another Kite so quickly? This might be the one that jumps the Kite shark.

I want to be the first. I think the scenario will be similar to Epitaph of twilight. Points Mia = Vesper. If not then another theory that is the Kite and this is .hack. Literal non literal sense. Just saying if it happens I want points. <.<

I hope that this new anime has the characters actually go through things that are exactly like the epitaph of twilight, I mean exactly with the dragon and sprites etc. Or at least give us the most complete version of it (In other words the full script on Emma's site that the games talked about.)

The closest thing to the epitaph of twilight that Cyber Connect 2 is going to release is the epitaph of twilight novel which is not the epitaph of twilight, but a recreation of the epitaphs story. I really doubt any more mediums in .hack will focus as much on the epitaph since the series is supposedly ending sooner or later.

I wonder what this anime will be like and the characters shown really look familiar to the rest of the series, but at the same time they look different. I find kite to look quite different since we know Kite (Sora) is a completely different person. Obvious changes have been made to the character from the original, but it's not as drastic as Azure Kite though. Balmung definitely looks different because his hair gives off a pretty boy impression. Black rose doesn't look that much different than the Lin and X-forth versions, but I don't know how different she will be since there is no video of these characters interacting. The cat reminds me of Macha from sign, and Aina is also seen in the pictures too.

As far as I can tell the anime looks more than half done at the moment, so it might be coming out soon in japan.

Sora has shorter hair and a small creature with her. I found some info, it seems to take place during 2021, unfortunately I don't know Korean it mentions something about ALTIMIT and a network virus. Though if anyone can the find the information in Japanese or speaks Korean that would be great too. >_<

Well, I believe this female Kite, and Kite(Sora) are two different characters. Also, yes. The original Kite can use a Dual Sword Bow in the game, because his badass-ness grants him the right to. >3>

I just want some cameos. Hopefully with their old characters (besides Aina), if not someone like Mireille or someone else young being one of the new characters.

Saw some fan art. Kite does look female, however that might be an exageration. On the ad I think the tone of the shirt makes it look like skin, points Balmung equal no wings. Also it was also in the trailer for 2024, but if I'd like to place bets on the Sophia Security System (Vaccine). Just saying... <.<

I'm not sure anything in that trailer was relevant to this anime though. Then again, if the Sora anime is CG, I'm not sure how Genius's friend (shown as traditionally animated) fits into it. I need to finish reading New Testament, but from what I skimmed a while ago I know the Sora anime explains what happened to  Aura, who lost her memories due to the events of Link. It's possible this is the very reason events (notably Kite and the Data Bugs) seem to be repeating themselves. The trailer states, "We may be more connected than we thought."

The plot involving Genius' American-seeming businessman friend involves him traveling to Japan and trying to prevent the new CC leadership from making the same mistake they made 4 years ago (well, actually pretty much nonstop starting with the R.A. Plan). On top of there's the "true twilight" originating from the Japanese The World server. I really like this since it seems like we might get to see Reiko Saeki as a character...

So both of these threads of the story seem to be a sort of epilogue for Link, while this other thing seems separate... (Though it's hard to not think the Kite clone thing is related) Since this apparently happens before the other two stories, I doubt the stakes are quite as high...
