I wish I knew where the PC datas were clustered together, there's thousands of files to sift through....
in hackstract they're listed under 2$c%## format (where $ is b for beast or p for human, % is m for male, f for female, or s for small, and finally ## is a number from 00 to B9 typically.... it can also be z# for chaotic PKs)
(( files using the S for gender will always be 2bcs##... they can't be used effectively for playable characters so don't bother with them.))

pcc0_.txt lists all the generic character's texture names and offsets... that should help a lot for checking your progress.

EDIT: I am in the progress of writing a C# app for creating basic generic codes. It won't do much for now, but eventually I may add more code types... it may not be done for a while though.

EDIT2: DON'T use 2ntm02 for anything, it does not have walking animations and thus, cannot move.

Of course it can walk and fight; it's a generic PC, after all. How do you think I got my previous avatar, which is a photo I snapped in Ran Hati?

Alrighty.. I've understand Most.. Okay as I've told you anything I'll understand I'll give you an Examble from myself, Just like Gabi.

~~

Alright.. as you have said.. We need PS2DIS open (with the GU3.pis file open in PS2DlS)

The First step we need is to Find What data belongs to umm.. Let's say my favorite Chaotic PK Poison Lei Lei. We need to find WHAT data BELONGS to Poison Lei Lei, We have to find her. Now we need to Open Hackstract. and tell it to open DATA.CVM file. Which is on GU3 Disc it will search for all of the Textures in the game and list them that PS2DIS will lead us to her data... right..?

I know what Poison Lei Lei what looks like as I've knew that the Hackstract will show the look of it Just like Ranlyn's Atoli right..?

Image

And the Numbers in the Left called adresses and Right ones are Values. Right? EXAMBLE:--> Adress 009574af --> Values. 009742 [ I made that up. ]

Now.. we go to Edit > Find Pattern/Open Seach Window. write 2poll4 << Just made up for the Examble... and then we make sure that it's Hex String. the numbers will be one of these:

Code: Select all

1-> 004B8F15
2-> 009AC4F0
3-> 00BA45F7 ( I made ALL OF THESE. Just for an examble. )

ANY 00B in address Can't help us so we Ignore them ALL right..?
We choose one of the above 004 or 009 Rightz?

Now we open the Search again and we type one of the chosen numbers above.. Let's say 004B 'kay?

Now we search 004b8f15 to find the an adress contains that one in the Value right..? But we'll gonna type: 00 4B 8F 15 And reverse the Numbers: 15 8F 4B 00 and then we Search them in reverse.. right..? We'll gonna find an address on it's Value written in it like this: ???????? 004b8f15

Now We search again with the Reverse of the unknown ?? ?? ?? ?? and will not able to fin anything with it. but that ???????? is this: 009AC4F0 From our first search.. right..?

Things I need to I be able to understand more:

A-> The Programs. < And The Files >
B-> The Important thing is your help guys!
C-> I need to do some [ As Testing ] Following your steps guys and the lessons just like Satoh gave me two/three.

~~

NOTE: If you'll Gonna bring me Rapidshare/Megaupload. They're block websites to me D: I can't get in them.

NOTE 2: Can't the Steps comes up like a Videos? xDD! Nah Jk. But if Can I don't Mind Lol xD

NOTE 3: VERY sorry for disturbing But I'm sure I'll be like you.. I guess?

I meant her generic animations... I tried it and could not walk around town. I assume she works in the field, but she won't move in town for me.

That still doesn't sound right to me... what codes did you use for her?

I deleted them... I'll try again later and see if it makes a difference... I don't remember mistyping anything but maybe I did...

I was trying to use her animations on Enju... regardless, I have to finish my codemaker...

This is the beta version of my Code maker program... it will do generic copying, and generic copying with SPC models
IE: You can make a character that is a replica of Kaochin or you can make an Endrance that uses Kaochin's animations...
That's all it does until I compile a list of the rest of the models that can be used...

http://www.filefactory.com/file/b0a2711 ... istant.rar

And here is the file pack with all the PS2DIS, GU3 documents, etc...

http://www.filefactory.com/file/b0a2726 ... YTHING.rar

Let me know if anything doesn't work right...

EDIT: The program is in the bin\release folder

Zed, sorry to bug you with this one, but I was looking through all the files in everything I've downloaded from both you and Satoh and the only "stats" files I saw were codes like affecting character levels and elements. Not only could I not determine how you got that data for Sophora in ps2dis (I did check myself and I didn't see anything of the sort remotely near Sophora's data I could find with the search), but I also couldn't check the stats file you mentionned and thus am going nowhere with the class codes. Is the stats.txt still on CoN? Or is there some kind of way I can improvise with just the class offsets?

Ugh, I'm sorry, thanks for putting up with me and I know I'm a pain in the ass. But at the very least I am trying and I think I just about have a handle on generics (I'm familiar with hackstract now, at the very least, and I may try my hand at some generics later tonight once I pick my first victim, err, test subject... and aww man, I scared Kaede away)

Yes, but it's no longer in a separate file; it's on my main site under the Miscellaneous menu. The inability to direct link made me reconsider my stance on uploading .hack stuff to the site proper. :\

Thanks, hopefully I won't need to bug you about codes anymore since I now officially have just about everything I need. I'll go back to your Endrance as a wavemaster example and work from there, It made sense and all, I was just missing the codes and the like.Unless I get stuck which I'll try not to do. I have no plans this weekend so I have plenty of time to test.

I'll return the favor by helping to answer questions around here too! ^_^

Oh, and Satoh, I checked out your beta codebreaker's assistant program. You are awesome!

Seriously, Zed and Satoh, you guys are the best. Though I do just have ONE last general question, if you guys know. I'll find out on my own eventually anyways. PK battles are based on Haseo's level, right? So if he's 150 and I play as Sophora at level 88 I get owned, right? If I lower his level with a hack, do the PKs weaken as well? Or are they coded in at his highest level before the drop? Because I was thinking of resetting my levels nice and low and playing as someone masked over Haseo so I can still access key items for those damn symbol fragments, basically creating my own "Free Mode" like in PSU where you could create a custom character for offline play.

Ok, so I realized I made some pretty big mistakes in the first beta of my codebreaker's assistant... I have since fixed them and added Generic PC models to the list of specific models...

Now you can play as the commentator but use the animations of a beast girl... if you wanted to...

I'll add some of the NPC models later... but I think the current 128 models to choose from is fine for one day's worth of programming...

@Ranylyn
I think the PK's levels are based on the average level of the characters in your entire contact list...

You could do what I do and equip Null Physical, Null Magic and Status Resistance...

EDIT: Also, can you even kick chests? I vaguely remember being able to, but there's the possibility you won't be able to get items a all.

Yes, you can kick chests (no animation, can apparently freeze if you're not fully stopped but it's never happened to me), but the game freezes if it's a symbol Fragment and your character isn't Haseo or at least masked over him.

And hey, no worries about the mistakes in the Codebreaker's assistant, even the first beta saves a LOT of work on my part, thanks!

Anyways, I'm about to test this test code to replace one of Haseo's weapons with magic. I chose Twin Blades since there was less math involved.

Code: Select all

Replace Haseo's Twin Blades with Macabre Dancer spells (Test 1)

0098D548 00000009
0098D54B 0098E360
I have no reasons to believe this is wrong but this IS my first test, so... wish me luck!

EDIT: Effects of above code: Haseo's Twin Blade changes to "Fan" in the menu but his skill list remains Twinblade. "Scythe" also changes to "Yes" with no icon. So a minor error but hey, at least I still have twin blades for now?

Edit 2: Oh, and scythes don't work either. I think my problem lies in my second code. I believe I misunderstood the sophora example. I'm trying to rework it now.

EDIT 3: Okay, fixed it, edited code, testing new code now. EDIT4: Keeps freezing when I open the menu. Testing a file that does not have the weapon I replaced equipped! Edit 5: Keeps freezing before even loading at all... I think I screwed something up somewhere. I'll make a new code that removes the scythes for fans and revert to 2nd form, should be elss freezing.

Right, I keep forgetting about the numbers at the start, like 5 for a copy code. Thanks.

Wait a sec... *squints at your codes* How did you get those? I started from Haseo's offset and did some basic hex math like so to determine his existing weapons, then worked to modify the code from there. Was I wrong? I figured I was at least on the right track since the status menu changed to show fans....

But hey, I was just using Zed's example as a base and modifying it based on Haseo's offset. Can't blame a guy for trying >_<

I'm not even sure where your data came from... judging from that I honestly have no idea how to fix that code list...

Try the codes, if they work, cool, if not... I have no idea... I was looking at the wrong data I think..

I took Haseo's base class offset, added the number of bytes needed to get to the class list (now, it's been years, but basically I was guessing 1 line = 1 byte and I must have been partially right since at least the twinblade changed to fans in my menu, but I couldn't make it work past that.) and worked from there.

I dunno, should we wait for Zed to see this? I'd rather not bug anyone I don't have to but I AM kind of confused here....

Good news, Satoh. Your code works. Just not in the expected way.

Haseo's job is now Macabre dancer and he has no other weapons. Considering he lacks fan animations... heh.

But hey, at least you weren't wrong! And on the bright side that is EXACTLY what I needed for my generics!

To find Kaochin's texture, which will lead us to her data in PS2DIS, we have to first know what Kaochin looks like... (Why would you want to use her if you didn't know what she looked like?)

She has Orange hair, Purple dress, and a squiggly 'S' mark on her forehead.
(To save trouble, her file should be in the folder labeled "2pcfz4" which is what we will look for in PS2DIS)

I know this is the First step. I went to it first:

Image

Then the second one:

Satoh wrote:In PS2DIS, we open the search window, (CTRL-F like in most programs will open it, or you can do "Edit > Find Pattern")
now, since 2pcfz4 is NOT a number, we make sure "As Hex String" is NOT checked, and we type in 2pcfz4, and tell it to search.

numbers it will find will be one of these

Code: Select all

1. 004CB1F8
2. 0092E588
3. 00B374D4 (Ignore this last one, I don't know what the game needs it for)
Which it's:

And then this come up:

Satoh wrote:I will search for 004CB1F8, since it is the first on the list. To do this search, we CHECK the "As Hex String" box, because it IS a number.

to search for a number like this we need to separate it into pairs, like this:
00 4C B1 F8
and order them in reverse like this:
F8 B1 4C 00

So, to search for 004CB1F8, we actually type F8 B1 4C 00 (or F8B14C00. With or without spaces, it doesn't care)
and tell it to search.

Which it's :

Finally this came up Which I don't know what is next ..

~~

NOTE: Thanks Satoh for the Files ^^ And Some helps comes from Ranylyn. ^^

NOTE 2: I need to know what is next of the Step 4 I didn't understand the next.

NOTE 3: Skeith Replaced To Haseo I need that code I don't have it.[/color][/b]
