Dot Hack GU3 Redemption Codes
Re: Dot Hack GU3 Redemption Codes
Right, but like I was explaining about equipment in that PM, the equipment auto-sorts and the DGs are at the end og the list, so it will clone and give you more than 1 DG (the code forces one into slot 1) which will possibly lead to overweiting equipment.
Anyways, Satoh, thanks for posting the MU link with the model files! You saved me the problems of navigating the whole thread to dig those up!

Re: Dot Hack GU3 Redemption Codes
so, would anyone be able to change the Japanese vol 3 exp code so i can use it on my american version? or could they port the one from vol 2 so i can use it in vol 3? just wondering is all, i thank those who have tried to help, but if skiller or one of the other legends could offer there brillance it would be great, just figured it would be good to ask here rather than make a new thread
i posted the codes a few pages back but if anyone needs them they are
Experience value x double (japanese xp code Vol 3)
0CC88BDC 14564FBA
1CC88BDC 14584XXX
F65 2
F25 4
FE5 8
EA5 16
E65 32
or the one from GU vol 2 - 20368418 201003e8
even with the off set, it doesn't seem to do anything, i get the same as what satoh does, and it seem vol 3 is a diff to 2 in the way exp is done... or something.
much thanks.
i'd do it myself, but i have no skill when it comes to this part of coding

Re: Dot Hack GU3 Redemption Codes
Okay, Solgoth, I did a little digging around and I've found your answer. If you're lazy you may not like it, however. Basically, each character has their own quick EXP Gain code, so it's not 1 code fits all. Here's the list of player characters you can get in your party without hacks. If you want the rest I can post them as well.

Re: Dot Hack GU3 Redemption Codes
i'd love to use them, but i have a patched CB 9.3 for using ESR and can't use the home made day 1 codes, and tbh, i'm lazy seeing as there are close to 50 codes i would have to enter to lvl all my party members, where 1 code would save me a lot of time and hassle which was why i was hoping someone could do the one from the Japanese version, or port the one from vol 2...
Re: Dot Hack GU3 Redemption Codes
Well in that case, sadly, I can't help you there, well, not with certainty. I do have an idea.
I forget where, but I do know there's a redemption Code edit to convert Redemption codes to Rebirth and Reminisce. If I could dig it up, we could probably reverse-modify the Volume 2 code, at the very least! It's not guaranteed to work but it's worth a shot! Unfortunately though, it may take me some time to find since I do not recall where I saw it. This thread has 20 pages, after all.

hmmm, something is better than nothing as they say, u folks here are light years ahead of me when it comes to code converting, which is why i'm not above asking my betters for some help (gives u guys a chance to show off
) if i could do it myself i would, but these days it just makes my head hurt hehe...

Re: Dot Hack GU3 Redemption Codes
Well, it's just a crazy idea, as I said. I honestly have no clue if I can actually work with it but maybe Zed could do something with it if my efforts fail? I may be an amateur, but Zed makes me look like I don't know how to count to 16 in hex (I do, I'm just saying, he's so much better than me at this) And I haven't found it yet, either. I'll have to resume my search when I wake up, it's 4 AM here and I've been up since 6 on barely 2 hours of sleep, so my faffeine overload is totally spent. See you in a few hours, probably!
Re: Dot Hack GU3 Redemption Codes
i thought Max convert might work on the japanese codes, but it only goes to v6, and i doubt it would work, cause using the converter on CB to CB gives the same code, changing it to raw, gives a new code, but that doesn't do anything so far as i can tell.... if what ur thinking of works, i'd be happy.... real happy

I didn't forget, I just didn't post that part XDMaster ZED wrote:That code works. You're forgetting to copy the other properties of a generic PC from an actual generic; You can't just slap a model into the PC model address of an SPC and expect it to work, as then the game crashes from trying to load two models for one character. The Rebirth and Reminisce offsets for converting codes from one game to another are both in the file I linked with the model files. you'll have to dig through it, but they're in there, guaranteed.

009AA39C is actually the exact address of a PC model offset, and 009AA3B4 is the last four bytes of that model + the first 16 of the next.
Re: Dot Hack GU3 Redemption Codes
So to clarify... When I backtracked the pc/2pcfa5 to the 9AA39C address.... the address I found was not the one I needed to use, but was one from the middle of the data for that PCC0* file... and I should back up a few addresses to get the actual starting point for the data...?Master ZED wrote:You did.Satoh wrote:I didn't forget, I just didn't post that part XD

It makes sense that I wouldn't magically find the proper address in just two simple steps now that I think about it... however, I'll have to make a note of that... (On the upside, I did the Enju part right!! woot!)
Thanks ZED, you always seem to pull my ass out of the fire.
OH! I discovered that PCSX2 DOES have a debugger, however I haven't tried searching for the morale digits yet. (partly because the games runs at a maximum of 20% of the actual game speed... makes combat a bit irritating...)
ANNNND having the proper codes on for Enju... I committed another idiotic mistake... I tried to multitrigger without even thinking about it... *stares at locked up game* Frozen Enju is Frozen...
I KNOW WHAT I'LL DO!! I'm going to make a list of all the pcc0* offsets! it'll save a lot of trouble in the end (provided I do it right)...
there should only be 4 or so, right? Since there's only human and beast times male and female... right?
maybe I'll eventually write a C# application to format these codes... if I can do it with my very basic C# knowledge...

Yeah, I must've assumed you'd pick that one up on your own, so I never said anything about what to do once the backtracking was completed. I consider it better to not completely hold someone's hand than to risk insulting their intelligence, since, y'know, G.U. does that to us on a regular basis on its own.Satoh wrote:So to clarify... It's no big deal, really; I'm used to not being understood immediately, like, ever.Satoh wrote:Thanks ZED, you always seem to pull my ass out of the fire.

I saw that last night when looking through romhacking.net for PS2DIS... it's a bit surprising that they don't have it. :\Satoh wrote:OH! I can add it to the Model FAQ when you're done; I'll add you to a new credits section for it, of course.Satoh wrote:I KNOW WHAT I'LL DO!! I'm going to make a list of all the pcc0* offsets! it'll save a lot of trouble in the end (provided I do it right)...
Five, actually; short beasts like the Medic Union have their own files. However, each model has only one instance, since the actual model and palette choices for each generic character are made in the PC actor offsets (it just uses an index value to look up which model to use), so it shouldn't be that bad. If anything, you should be thankful you're not listing out 500+ generic character names... when you have to jump to completely different offsets hundreds of times to pick up the right names, and at some point do some error correction involving hundreds of names because you thought one name that had two words in it was actually two names, you kinda wish you were never born. :\ I definitely regret forgetting C; I need to make the same lists for Reminisce and Rebirth because not every single character made it to Redemption, and things like monster stats and lists need a program for extraction as well...Satoh wrote:there should only be 4 or so, right? Since there's only human and beast times male and female... right?
Oh! Speaking of names, yes, you can change them pretty easily for pretty much anything that uses text instead of graphics. Things like character and weapon names are plain text stored in the executable, so finding and overwriting them is cake. If you want to change the name to something that already exists, or if you want to use more space, each piece of text has a corresponding pointer value (much like the models) that you can alter to a larger area. For example, "Fenlong" is at 004C6720, and the pointer to that address, when searched for as a hex string, is only found at 00447218. As long as the new name fits seven letters, you can just overwrite the name directly, otherwise you have to redirect the pointer to some larger blank space, like, say... the 00A##### offsets dummied SPC models like Haseo 1st point to. You'll definitely need to redirect for most dummied weapons that have no names; they do have pointers, they just all lead directly to the same null value.
Also, for main character names, there are multiple pointers that I haven't bothered to decipher the exact purposes of; I just change them all and not worry about it.

Re: Dot Hack GU3 Redemption Codes
Edit: I tried the generic Sophora code and it sort of worked. She had the generic running animation and everything. The problem struck in battle. I had the broadsword equipped (the last weapon I used on Haseo) and I started by launching a Tiger Strike. Sophora locked into the same animation non-Haseo characters do when initiating a surprise attack, and the battle basically froze since there was no animation and thus the skill never finished. Am I limited to Haseo's weaponry? I hacked him down to 1st form which means only twinblades. Could I hack Haseo's alternate jobs to allow the generics I mask over him with to use weaponry he otherwise shouldn't use?
Sorry, I assumed you had the model file. Let me cut and paste how those work. The chart I listed before are model Values. Follow the "NOTES" explanation to convert the values into the right code for the character you need.TheSupremeKing wrote: wonder what is happening. The codes Above.. I use them like this? /

The files I've get Half of them Are in the end of ANY Code [????] or [??] Some of them I've understand Like the ones of the Equips.
But Changing Models... you bet not.
Also, sorry, I really can't figure out how to decipher the translation of the Vol 3 to 2 conversion code. I'll need to find the 2 to 3 code. I know it exists, I just forget where I saw it,.The Model FAQ wrote:Model codes

Model values
NOTES: These values are only accurate for Haseo himself. They change with each character, 00 being the default value and 01, 02, 03 being their alternate forms. If you wanted to turn Endrance into Xth form Haseo, for example, you would need to break out your Windows calc or whatever, turn on Scientific mode, switch to hexadecimal, and plug in the following formula: 100h - ((character default value) - (new model value)) (the h is to signify a hex value, it has no more meaning than that)
For the example, Endrance becoming Xth Form would look like this: 100h - (24h - 03h) = DFh. DF is the value for Endrance becoming Xth form!
For character models of a higher value, you simply subtract the new model's value from the default model's value. The default value is always the first one listed.
Also note that I haven't experimented with turning Sakubo into another character. His model value determines which personality is being used, and could potentially glitch with another character. I'll edit this post when someone tries it and reports the result.
For Ovan's model, what few in-battle animations it had were deleted, but it does work otherwise. The problem that freezes the game at menus lies with Ovan himself, so another character using a Steam Gunner weapon can become Ovan and still function... albeit in the same limited capacity as the unused Moon Tree captains like Sophora.
If you use a good model for a character whose animations were deleted, say, Gabi or unknown4, that character will be usable. If you give Gabi Haseo's 3rd form, for example, he'll still be able to fight as an Edge Punisher and even have his in-battle Art names (yes, they were recorded despite the deletion).
One more thing; the weapon a character holds is VERY important to the model in use. If you use the Endrance example as-is, the game will freeze every single time Endrance is loaded because Xth form can't use a blade. You will have to change the weapon depending on who you switch to.

Re: Dot Hack GU3 Redemption Codes
I think I'm gonna Give up Lol. I just Don't Understand. Also I tried The Codes and of Each ?? I tried 03 as Haseo Xth. Nothing Happens.
The thing I need to let me Understand is Some Exambles [ With Codes. ]
Not like the Examble for Gabi/Endrance I really didn't understand..
Anyway.. It's not that Important. I just Figure out The Xth Triad in your party kinda sucks >_< But when they Fight you is better. xD [ Worthy Opponent ] But When you can do them just post them up Because I'm collecting some Codes into my Notepad.
~~
Guys Is there is anyway to play as a Doppelganger? [ This will be fun Much too. xD ]

Re: Dot Hack GU3 Redemption Codes
I don't think you can personally as doppelganger, sadly.
Anyways, Generic Sophora has no skill animations for twin blades either. I think I'm missing a key code, here....
EDIT: Okay, so naturally spells still work. It's just that they can't be hacked into the skill trigger since Haseo is a non-mage. Hed, I remember you mentioning once that it's really easy to change jobs since it's just a name, and I was wondering if that would help, or if I needed to figure out how to replace Haseo's weapon skill levels with a magic class weapon?
Also fun fact: I tried Generic Sophora as a Macabre Dancer, hoping that using a magic weapon would allow spell use on the skill trigger. She grows to a giant size (larger than the Chain Whips) when blocking, and she hovers around but still has proper attack animations (like, if she gets knocked down, she'll stay crouched while running around, but if you attack she stands back up to attack. Again, if you block, she remains blocking (in animation, not in practice) while moving. It's pretty glitchy, I think maybe Sophora was a bad character to use for this, heh.

It's easy Just take Haseo 3rd form or Xth Form and Hack or something to make these weapons works. How would I use skill Trigger? Simple Just put of Each weapon 1 and if you want to use just Go to Equipment change to the weapon you want. Have fun! Lol. ] ]
