Actually Vulpix, I was referring to whoever was talking about the practicality of weapons, no other part of that persons argument. If it wasn't you who was talking about that, then I wasn't referring to you. A simple correction without the hostility would have worked swimmingly.

I agree with Vorbei. The main problem I have with the new designs aren't the designs themselves (some of them look good IMO) but that they don't fit to the characters....As mentioned, Tsukasa's outfit in SIGN was perfect for him, it looked simple...The new design is way too eccentric for him - by looking at his old design I really could see his introversion - same with Elk. But now that's not the case anymore... And Tsukasa's X-Form is just swanky. It doesn't look like him. Same with most of the other X-Forms...For example, I like Mimirus X-Form but...it too, doesn't fit to her character...
One of the few I like is the one of Kite or Shino ~ ...I don't know if I really want to see the X-Form of Ovan, Ginkan or Balmung xD

Actually the ones you mentioned are the ones that do seem to fit, albeit subtly and/or bizarrely, like I mentioned earlier. Tsukasa has more color and Mimiru has "mimi" (ears) seemingly in reference to Mimika and all that history...

Whether dual-wielding broadswords LOOKS ridiculous or not, it certainly isn't practical. The point of a broadsword is its weight and size to add onto the momentum and end result of OWIE. (A bowling ball to the head hurts more than a baseball when dropped from the same height, same logic.) Being so large, dual-wielding would be impossible even if you had the inhuman strength to lift one in each hand as if it were a giant feather. Dual swords/daggers work because they're small and can work around each-other-- broadswords can't. Broadsword+dagger combo doesn't work well for the same reason, PLUS the hand using the dagger is becoming useless since again, the point of a broadsword is to be BROAD and OWIE, meaning TWO hands for any efficiency at all. (Obviously the new designers have never handled a true broadsword or even the fantasy as-large-as-the-wielder broadswords. Swinging a fantasy-large broadsword with one hand would bust your arm upon swinging and being unable to stop the momentum with that one hand.)

At the least, .hack// has been practical with weaponry. Until now with Tokio.

It's a video game. A hacked videogame. That kind of logic should certainly apply to the "legitimate" classes the in-game CC created as part of The World's Standard Fantasy Setting, but not to an illegal dual broadsword class. Haseo and Tokio just duct-taped two classes together in order to do a lot more damage. Real-world logic doesn't apply...

After seeing more Xth Forms I must say most are nice. If Tokio is wielding 2 2h swords then why him out of all people? Tokio is not even a badass to wield dual 2h swords. Even if they are 1h swords still they could have at least pick someone that would look cool owning with dual 2hswords. Haseo, or Midori would look cool doing it.

I like that BR has gotten more thorns on her rose. And that her blade has quadrupled in size. It matches her well. It's like she just upgraded herself. Other people do look kind of random. Like why is Silabus suddenly a pirate? He's not very pirate like...
