"I draw because if I do, I'll be loved." The boy spoke, smiling as if he were happy. "I love drawing and drawings love me."
Re: Fragments of a Distant Star (Darker than Black rp)
"There great! Thanks for asking Katsu-san. Yukimura...oh you work for the Tokyo Times. I wrote a paper analyzing one of your articles last month, good stuff. So what are you interviewing my brother for?" "Alice, not that I don't appreciate not being the one you ask tons of questions for once, but Mr. Yukimura's had a long day. I'm sure he just wants to have a relaxing afternoon and enjoy his coffee." "Eh? But he's a reporter, why's he the only one who gets to ask questions? I'm sure he knows a whole lot. Oh yeah, Cale, I know you're busy and you might not have been here for long, but there's been a lot of strange murders here in Japan. If you've got time, would you or one of your other nonexistent friends look into them please? For meeeeee?" He couldn't resist his sister's request especially when she made that face, besides he was working on it already.
Cale let out an exaggerated sigh, "Sure Alice, but why are you so interested?" "I live here, well until the end of the school year at least. And unlike you I'm not allowed to carry a gun for self-defense." "Not that you would." "That's beside the point, which is that I don't want some serial killer coming after me or my friends." "Alright alright, I'll look into it. Speaking of friends, shouldn't you be hanging out with them or something?" "Oh they're all busy with clubs or whatever, I've got the afternoon off. So should we go out on the town tonight? I can show you all the best clubs." Cale gave his sister a look that said 'what have you been doing missy?' "Oh don't give me that look, it's not like you didn't go out clubbing when you were my age. Oh, right...sorry." Alice looked down at her hands. Cale handed her a hot chocolate and patted her hand. "Don't worry about it, so tell me about your wild adventures here in the big city." Alice had to think for a minute before she decided on a story that wasn't too embarrassing.
Cale was doing his best not to let anything on about his sister, but based on the man's expression he knew Katsu was either suspicious of Alice given his recent question or he was getting annoyed. He could understand the latter, she was a little machine gun when it came to talking and asking questions.
Alice was excited it didn't really matter why he was here, but Cale was here. Mom had called and told her that she had seen Cale only a couple of days ago, and now he was here in Tokyo. What were the odds? And it wasn't the time of year that he normally came by to visit her so he was obviously at that super secret work of his. Oh, did she just blow his cover with that comment about his friends that don't exist? Woops, oh well he didn't seem too bothered by it so probably not. Maybe Yukimura was one of the people he worked with. I guess that makes sense, a reporter would be a good cover for somebody that's constantly asking questions and going where he's not supposed to. Cale on the other hand, well he was hard to miss. What could they possibly assign him to do when he always wears some ridiculous getup like this?

Katsu's eyes became warm, though the next image he saw surprised him. Walking past the coffee shop was Emi Wakahisa, who looked completely normal. Why did the forces that lead them to that decision have? Why would they willingly forget? He stood up, bowing slightly. "I must go meet someone, I hope we may chat again." He walked out politely, paying the whole bill for their drinks in exchange.
There had to be answers.

"He must like you, I didn't even get so much as a farewell when last I saw him." "And you said asking questions was a bad thing." "I suppose some people like inquisitive minds. And yet I'm in this line of work and you are not." "Feel like sharing some?" "Yes, but I can't, and unfortunately I must take care of a bit of it this evening." "Can I come, pleeeeeaaaassssseeeeee?" "Much as it pains me to say this you cannot, and it does pain me Alice. However, I have a bit of time before I must be off shall we grab a bite?" "Sure, any of your other friends here?" "No, guess it'll just be the two of us." Cale followed as Alice led on to one of her favorite haunts.
That's strange, I wonder what got Katsu to leave so abruptly, and with such grace too. He even payed for us. Something either very good or very bad must have just come up, and he didn't even receive a phone call so whatever it was must have been someone or something passing by, of course there were an awful lot of people and things passing by. Wait wasn't that one of the girls from the bar last night? And unless he was mistaken she had seemed to be the leader. What's more, her eyes, they were just like Sakura's, just like Alice's, completely normal. And didn't Katsu say that he had been attacked by one of those strange contractors recently, was she the one? This whole thing was getting rather complicated, much more than he liked.
What was it Cale was doing here? He was clearly aching from something, and despite his best efforts and how little she saw him she could tell. Was his work really so important that he'd continue working despite the injuries. Well, it was the I can't talk about it under pain of death kind of deal, but still Cale never seemed all that patriotic, even now that he wasn't a contractor. And from what she understood that was likely the reason he had been working for whoever it was he was working for, so why did he persist. He certainly wouldn't do it because of money. There might have been a girl she supposed, but Cale would have mentioned her at some point, so why? Today afforded a rare opportunity to discuss that little matter. Plus she had to wonder what it was like being a contractor. And with recent events she had to wonder if they could have been the cause and with his recent appearance she wondered if Cale and his work was somehow connected, things were getting quite complicated and interesting.

"Wakahisa-san!" He had finally caught up with her, catching her arm. She blinked, uncertain why Katsu was even there. Confused at his presence, she merely stared down at him with a blank expression. "Explain to me why you were at that bar."
"A bar...? I was working all last night and fell asleep." She was certain, no doubt in her body movements. "Yukimura-san I hate to say it, but you're being odd. Grabbing women randomly and asking if they had some one night stand with you." She removed her arm, walking off.
'It doesn't make sense, she was there. Why can't she admit to it?'

"What are you talking about? Drawing beautiful pictures isn't what they want." He held is book tighter, running off as if he were scared of Takumi.

Sifting through the paper, a smile appeared on a figure's face. "Tonight then."
