Yeah, the people in Mexico are almost always very nice, but I wouldn't want to go there right now, seeing the recent events... have fun, but be careful, too.
Re: Random facts about YOU!
Oh I forgot to answer your question, I will drive there it's only two or so hours away from here (Depends on the traffic)

Re: Random facts about YOU!
Don't mention it.
So it's only two hours away? Lucky, it takes me about three or four hours just to get to the border... it's about a ten to twelve hour drive all the way to San Felipe. Are you staying for just the party, or longer? What's there to do in the town?

I'm going to stay there for the weekend
The malls there are nice(My town is too small) also the movie theaters are ALOT better over there, and I have some family and friends so it's always nice to see them. Oh and the food is good too (^-^)

I usually don't like Mexican food, but for whatever reason I always have it when I'm in Mexico. All the stuff around town is always nice. I've seen places like Mazatlán become more Americanized recently, with stores like Burger King, or Billabong opening up there.
Have you ever been to a baseball game in Mexico? I don't like baseball, but they get so wild there that it's always fun to see. We always go with some family friends, and once on the Jumbo-screen thing, it showed my dad and his friend since high school, and funnily enough, they made a heart sillhouette around them, so they started to hug each other XD
¿Puede hablar español Ud.?
Oh, and just for the sake of keeping this topic unlocked...
RF: My friend gets easily scared by gore, so for about 30 minutes one day I made him watch a lot of the torture and killing scenes from Higurashi. He was most disturbed by the nail-ripping scene... he also doesn't understand how the show's so damn popular.

Re: Random facts about YOU!
First, i'd like to apologize with Mirus for my "4chan implementing", for whatever trouble and disturbing i've caused.
Y ahora, si, yo también hablo español por obvias razones, y podemos tener una gran conversación :D Pero por lo que veo Haseo{TOD} no quiere problemas, así que seguiré poniendo un hecho aleatorio de mi parte...bueno, de hecho 2, y uno es mas para responder a uno anterior.
1. Where i live, Mexico City, is pretty DARN Americanized, and it's something recent too. Just around the corner from my house, i see Wal-Mart, Burger King, Starbucks, K-Mart, Hot-Topic and other shops with names i've never heard before but apparently people are all in hype because of them being "international"...not like they're bad, but it feels just wierd to be surrounded by places all with english names :/
2. Everytime i go with my parents to eat or some b-day or something, they always tell me it's a miracle to see me because i never agree to go with them and stay with them....even though there's been to event like that that i've missed for like 3 years so far.

Re: Random facts about YOU!
...That's pretty wierd, though possible and i see it like some people can talk correctly but can't read or write; either way, you just typed that sentence pretty much right XDClaro que si puedo hablar espanol , pero no escribirlo
I can write in english pretty well (...well, you tell me that :P lol), but have some trouble understanding it, usually either having to listen it twice or carefully make out the words in my head seconds after listening, and though i can speak it, i have lots of trouble with my accent and the way to pronounce words, sometimes not knowing the correct pronunciation...you can understand me, but you'll EASILY notice it's not my native or best language x-x''
And yes, that's true about Mexico, but at least in the center, not since that long ago; when i was 10 years old or so everything was pretty much mexican at least until the VERY industrial center with lots of foreign companies, mostly from USA. The first Americanized "place" i remember we had around was Burger King like 8 years ago, followed by Wal-Mart in the next year...now, around my house at least, there's been a Hot-Topic and Starbucks for definetly no longer than a year, though it's been for 2-3 years in other places :P

Re: Random facts about YOU!
@Mirus- Cabrito? Never heard of it...
@Sorrow- I get like that with spanish, too... I can write just fine, but it takes me a while to translate during conversations. I've been meaning to ask, where'd you learn english? You don't speak too formally, so I assume it's not only a school education... did you learn slang talking to native speakers or something?

Re: Random facts about YOU!
@ TheSorrow: I dont have the keys or alt codes to letters with accents and the n with a ~ on top of it , also spanish has alot of rules, v and b sound very similar and so does n and m (sometimes) oh and y with ll

I haven't been to Monterrey personally, but I've heard that it has a lot of american stores :\Mirus wrote:Mexico has been Americanized for at least 17 years...atleast the Monterrey area
Another place is Cancun, at least the Hotel Zone, the downtown not much; but I swear it's like walking to a different place XD But with Cancun I guess it was obvious it'd happen, after all, it lives of tourism >__>;; and it's just getting bigger and bigger with even more stores and malls.
Random Fact: I have an obsession with grammar.

Re: Random facts about YOU!
I'll reply that as a random fact ;PI've been meaning to ask, where'd you learn english? You don't speak too formally, so I assume it's not only a school education... did you learn slang talking to native speakers or something?
I learned english completely on my own, and simply by playing videogames, listening to music, and browse the internet. Sure, i had school taught me english since Elementary School, but seriously, until High School, we never get past the numbers, colors, and "to be"...synonyms and antonyms were pretty much a final exam topic. Since the beginning, i played videogames and grabbed a dictionary to try to understand the words unknown to me, and since i replayed games so much i believe that's what taught me english the most (and earliest...this started since i learned how to read). Then i got introduced to music, and managed to find lyrics in english and their translation, sometimes i would watch subbed movies too but it didn't help much as i couldn't keep up...but then the internet came, and my english was pretty much perfectioned, for my very first forum was an english one, and i slowly managed to learn all kinds of slang words, to the point where i didn't have to "understand" the slang word itself to understand it's meaning, and web searchers like Google helped me on understanding whatever word i didn't know, quicker and better than with dictionaries, and honestly, i still do that every once when i read one of those complex words not even native english speakers know.
So yeah, in short, i learned all on my own without talking to any native speaker, or taking classes, or anything like that...mere curiosity on my own since i was little XD In fact, i've NEVER met any native speaker in person, and i've talked to native speakers (phone and voice chat) 5 times at most, with only a little trouble but they've happened pretty recently so i could keep up a decent conversation for a while.
Oh :P Well the ñ is only a letter, and i hardly type accents or stuff like ü XD And yeah, spanish has lots of rules involving those words, but i believe it's way easier to remember how the word itself is typed, not what rules it follows....i have no idea about the rules myself :P lolMirus wrote:@ TheSorrow: I dont have the keys or alt codes to letters with accents and the n with a ~ on top of it , also spanish has alot of rules, v and b sound very similar and so does n and m (sometimes) oh and y with ll
